After a more recent string of mediocre experiences, lack of options brought me back (this place was better a few years ago). Somehow theyve managed to expand. My issued are listed 1) soda machine was broken and two taps delivered soft drink changing color to clear soda water and back; watered down, sour taste ensued 2) service was slow, food sat on the counter while the kitchen slapped the ringer repeatedly. Expediter and another worker wandered around the dining area watching TV 3) my shrimp burrito was the worst (no dramatization) shrimp burrito Ive ever had. Sauteed red sauce mixed with rice (taste: canned spaghetti sauce) was 90% of the volume and 5-6 small shrimp the rest. Im not picky at all really; I love all food but this tasted like canned spaghetti sauce mixed with rice. Was gross. Lack of options in UTC is keeping them in business but they need BIG changes if they want my business again.

I came here the other night looking for a nice little taco shop to eat at with my friends and boy do I regret it. The woman working the register was very slow. We wanted to split the total between cash and card and she ended up charging the entire balance to the card. Another woman there was very rude to my friend because she asked if she could mix coffee flavors. Lastly, my order was wrong and I was not about to go back up to the desk just to wait 15 minutes for them to make a new burrito. Not to mention, the two cashiers stood in front of the register making small talk as my food is sitting on the shelf ready to be handed to me. As far as quality of the food, it isnt half bad, outside of the horchata that comes out of a machine (very watered down). I would NOT recommend coming here AT ALL.

The good: The food is awesome! The prices are fair. Not a steal, but definitely not pricey. Open late. Feels family-owned (in a good way). The bad: Gave me the wrong type of meat on my order. (Gave me steak instead of chicken. Happened the last time I went, too) Music was excessively loud through particularly bad speakers. Im not usually picky about music or volume, but it was so loud and shrill that I ate outside instead. Final verdict: Not 100% perfect, but still definitely a great choice for late-night munchies if you want great-tasting food and can stand things being a little rough around the edges.

The best California burritos in La Jolla. Yes, even better than Vallartas. The French fries are always crispy. The steak is grilled to perfection. Mouth watering with every bite. A great balance between flavor and dryness. The price is affordable. The burritos are bigger than normal. If youre looking to save, you can make your burritos extra large for a fraction more. Its basically two burritos. Ask them to cut it in half. Theres a salsa bar with free freshly made tortilla chips.

Im confused about the bad reviews. Somebody complained they spent $30 on 2 burritos, but failed to mention that they were (probably) monster burritos, full of shrimp, and the size of my arm! Another person complained about messing up orders? Get something on the menu, Ive never had my order messed up. Ill admit, the meat isnt always the best, but I find that the carnitas and steak are their best options. Great place, just order with a smile and itll all work out

Im not trying to exaggerate or anything, but I honestly think that was the best burrito Ive ever had. I got the 619 burrito. It had French fries in it, but not too many (you know how some places put tons of potatoes in their burritos so they dont have to put more meat in it? Yeah, well it wasnt like that at all). There was plenty of meat and some delicious creamy, cheese sauce or something. It was YUM. Plus, the lady working there was very nice.

Nothing phenomenal here, just a regular mexican eatery, with the same food as everywhere else. The prices have been going up, so the value hasnt been the same as a few years ago. The burritos are decent, and the carne asada fries are good. They have a decent salsa bar, with free hot carrots and jalapenos.

One of the older cashier ladies wont even look you in the eye and is very cold, basically handing the food and turning away. She either hates her job or white people because she did seem more friendly to other groups. Not all of the cashiers here are this way but one obviously has some sort of problem.

Fish tacos with white or chipotle sauce are amazing, but I also get the Americano Monster burrito with steak, no rice and black beans which is delicious as well. Plus they now have beers on tap. Beer is a little expensive but sometimes you just need a Lagunitas with your tacos.

I have to hand it to Los Primos. I did not think much of the place a few years ago, but they have been improving their food and expanded to include the space next door. Beer is $3.50 a glass (for any of them) on Wednesdays. Worth a visit if you do not want to drive further.

Its been a couple years since my last visit to Los Primos. But their MONSTER burritos are worthy of a little nostalgia. With a different Monster on special each day, theyve always got something to fill you up. They have great chips, and I love the salsa bar here too!

The food tasted more like texmex than Mexican food. I got a tostada with chicken and there was shredded chicken but on the bottom there were too huge pieces of chicken the size of a full breast but un cut. They were out of avocado!

Was a decent Mex take out place. Just ordered a grilled steak burrito and it came filled with ground beef. UNACCEPTABLE! If I wanted a hamburger burrito I would have gone to Taco Bell. I am not going to taco bell.

A standard Primos experience. This primos is interesting because it has both a restaurant and a bar in the same building, but that doesnt detract from its central draw: quick and cheap american-mexican.

What every you order, beans and cheese will be dumped in or on your dish and be the primary substance you eat. There are a ton of other mexican restaurants that offer more than just beans and cheese.

I used to eat here all the time when I lived nearby. Good fast food. They recently expanded with a cantina. pretty nice! They also have many TVs with soccer games playing or other sports.

This place is great! I lived across the street when I was at UCSD, and would get breakfast burritos nearly every day here. Theyre cheap & hearty. The shrimp burritos are great too.

I go out of my way to avoid places like Baja Fresh and Rubios and I end up with the blandest California burrito I have ever ate in my life. Head for Sombreros instead.

Its the closest taco shop to where I live, not the best, but not terrible. Its passable, but when you want to expend a little more effort to eat, you dont go here.
