The last time I was here was about six months ago. I came here with my bf for breakfast and lucked out with the metered parking spot right in front. But, the wait was unbelievable and disappointing. We were seated but our table didnt come with utensils. The server was not that friendly, and we waited at our table for a good 12 minutes without being asked for water, or were offered a menu, or even given our utensils and napkins. During this whole time, we watched other guests in the restaurant being served and given a menu and drinks. Our metered spot was losing time as well as the wasted change we put in there. When we got up to leave, a woman came out and apologized to us (perhaps the owner?), but at that point she was too late and already lost at least two customers. Up until that point we had eaten a couple of times (and the food is good), but this terrible experience is enough to never come back.

We LOVE Cardamom-everyone who works there is always very friendly & accomodating for our toddler. They make all their own pastries & breads & they are absolutely delicious. We took my in-laws there & although they were impressed with the food, they were NOT happy that the check arrived prior to our completing our meal. We have never taken issue with this practice. We usually go for breakfast, however have also been for lunch & it does NOT dissapoint either. Everything is homemade & fantastic!

This my wifes and I 2nd time at Cardamom, we ordered an english muffin, and the crepecakes, it took over 25 mins to make two very small dishes, that frankly were lacking. On top of the slow service, I had an ice tea delivered to my table, yet I didnt order one, and the two guy next to us got a check, yet they had just sat down and had yet to order. Were skipping this place from now on. The slow service and loud interior make this place just not the cornor eatery it could be.

My wife and I ate here twice while we were on a 4-day stay in San Diego. I would drive a significant distance to eat here again. Wonderful breakfasts. She had the "Dragon Burrito". I had the Breakfast Croissant. Second day she had the Cardamom French Toast and I had the Chorizo Omelette. All 4 dishes were ones I would get again. Lots and lots of fresh baked goods (they make their own English muffins!). Cant recommend highly enough.

The croissants and pastries are out of this world! They have tons of great an interesting flavors, both sweet and savory. If you go more for the sweets, the almond croissant is a must. You can also special order pastries and breads for meetings, parties, or holidays. They also have great breakfasts and lunches. The curry chicken salad is one of my favorites. The service can be a bit on the slow side, but it is worth it.

Only reason they dont get 5 stars is because they dont have hash browns! Silly I know! The blue cheese omelet is fabulous! The flavors of this omelet come together perfectly. I was a little apprehensive but glad I tried it. Must try brioche French toast. You can even buy a loaf and take it home! Just like anything in North Park, parking is terrible so walk if ya can!

Man I love this place. The service is great, the bread is fresh baked, and the coffee is perfect. The crowd is definitely neighborhood oriented. You wont find incredibly exciting offerings like you would at breakfast republic, or the mission, but the food is solid, inexpensive, with the local crowd. The chicken salad, and is a great choice.

Warm cozy place with delicious food. Their french toast is simply amazing! For a small space they they have a big variety. Their goat cheese croissant is heaven on earth. Dog friendly patio for those mornings you and your fur family want to take a walk and eat some breakfast outside.

This gem of a bakery is a must stop in North Park! Their croissants are the stuff dreams are made of.... flaky, buttery dreams. Just the smell of bread baking and rosemary potatoes cooking is enough to inspire sonnets. Reasonably priced menu with friendly service.

A favorite for breakfast! Love the Bliss Cakes for a blend chai like spices with a touch of mascarpone to tie the flavors together. New items appear and I recently tried the Nutella french toast. Fabulous! Huge servings always have me asking for a half order!

This is my standard go-to breakfast spot. Really solid food, great coffee, tea, and people. The patio is dog friendly, but has you may expect a wait for seating during weekend breakfast times. Oh, and they dont have booze, so dont plan on mimosas here!

Perfect neighborhood spot for delicious and well priced breakfast / brunch items. Sidewalk patio with shade. I had the very generous and yummy French toast with fruit compote and strawberries. Enough for two.

Cardamom bread is amazing but otherwise youll be choosing between a greasy sandwich or over the top sugary breakfast. We didnt try one of the heart healthy bowls. Good service, delicious coffee.

The locals breakfast spot away from the long crowds found at nearby places. They have a wide variety of croissant filled with goodness. Enjoyed a nice, fluffy turkey and cheese croissant.

The food is fabulous.... Service, not so much. My daughter only got 1/2 of her breakfast, no one checked on us ... my coffee was never refilled ... and we werent even given our bill.

I dont understand the fuss around this place. Crappy screen door where everyone gets stuck in. Uneven service. Interior would benefit from a paint job. Croissant sandwich was dry.

I drove by this place for years and never gave it the time of day. Finally we heard a few people praising it. Checked it out for brunch and have been back several times since.

The food is very good! I especially enjoyed the breakfast burritos. Make sure you set aside enough time because the service is absolutely horrible and insanely slow.
