Horrible, rude service by first waitress, almost left. Then the shift changed and Asian waitress stereotyped me when I was looking at desserts and lamely asked me if I wanted a churro (yes I appear Mexican) out of the blue literally. The cheese fries had nacho cheese sauce and were awful. I took the time to call to let manager know about our experience and he said his name was VJ the owner. He literally asked me if we were served by the "fat one or skinny one." I told him I didnt know either of their names actually because they failed to welcome us or introduce themselves when we arrived. However, any owner or manager who refers to his staff like "fat one or skinny one" that is rude and disrespectful. Like owner, like staff. And the food sucked too. Wish we would have waited on just gone to fast food or a real restaurant like Cheesecake Factory. Dont waste your money.

Went last night with my Husband and service was terrible we waited at a table for nearly 20 minutes and we never got a server....so we wanted our food to go...waited another 20 minutes Ordered a club sandwich and 2 diet cokes, which came out to $18 wow are you serious, thats a bit pricey. So we got it anyway we figured what the hell , got our order and upon leaving I looked in the box to my surprise was a poorly put together sandwich, usually a club sandwich is stacked with meats but ours wasnt it basically SUCKED. Wow this was my worst experience of old town San Diego I will never recommend anyone to eat here...this place has workers at night that had no idea how to run a business...as I was sitting at the bar I seen food sitting for more 5 minutes before it was served....way to expensive for bland food

Some of the food lacks presentation. The Garlic Chicken was not served In a crisy tortilla shell, it was just in a bowl. The Fried Calamari was on a plate with no trimmings, The fish tacos had no sauce on them. The service was not good. We were a party of eight. We had to ask serval times for Sweet and Low and lemons for our tea. One of our party did not get her food until she asked were it was. The servers were not friendly. The owner was talking on the phone when served our food. The place is not clean. The handrail up the stairs was sticky. The air vent has not been cleaned for months. There was dirt around the base boards. The doors and wood work needs cleaned. We arrived at 1:30 pm. It was not busy. I will not go back

Great place for lunch! My wife and I hadnt visited Old Town in quite a few years so after checking out what was worth seeing we need some food. And funny enough when we came upon this cafe we remembered that we had eaten here the last time we were in town.Paul our server looked after us from the get go and was very friendly. He was also on the ball and made sure our lunch order arrived the same as we ordered it.My wife and I enjoyed our shared turkey club sandwich and our drinks...my expresso milkshake and my wifes butterscotch latte tasted fine.We dont come down this way much but its nice to know we can still get a wholesome lunch here.Great service and very reasonable prices with a nice shaded front courtyard.

I really enjoyed my time here! They had very interesting coffees which I wasnt aware they were such a coffee pastry place till I walked inside. I was at a street festival when their Happy Hour sign for Pina Coladas drew me in! I instead ordered a alcoholic coffee. The suggestion was Mexican Mocha with Tequila. Feel like it could of been about 25% less strong and been perfect. They were busy and the staff was frazzled but, they were handling it very well! I have always been intrigued by this place and Im glad I stopped in. The coffee flavor was great and the churros were amazing along with some sort of pistachio log we got also! Yum yum!!

I was enjoying my self yesterday and me and my friends wanted some food so we come across this restaurant and what catches my attention was a pizza for 12$ and we walk in and order one pizza and three 2.99$ lemonade . When I was told the total was 31$ I freaked out and looked at the recite it was a total of 13.99$ for the pizza and 11.34$ for the lemonade plus the "tip of gratitude " which is 15% !!! Like the taxes from the food wasnt enough they added 4.34 for self tip!! And their service wasnt great . So I claimed down but when I received my food they brought all the food in foam paper plates !! Pizza in a huge plastic plate !!!!!!!

Their service was atrocious. We had a party of 6. First thing ordered? Chips and Salsa with guacamole as appetizers. We asked, "is it fresh?" The gruough and harsh owner/waiter said, "oh yes." Then 25 mins later, the entre came out followed by our not-so-fresh, seemingly canned guacamole (Yuck)! Arent apps to come out first? Not here! The tacos (my enter) were fair. I will never eat here again nor will I recommend this place. When you see this place, run dont walk away. If you are a foodie, especially, run as far away as you can. Youll find better food and service at seven-eleven.

THE BEST CAFE Ive been to in a LONG time! VJ, the owner is the sweetest man ever! A friend and I sit in their from the moment they open to the moment they close and they treat us so kindly (they havent kicked us out haha!)! They have delicious food (The Original Cheese Burger and the fries are the best!!) and their drinks are amazing (The Mexican Mocha and Hot Chocolate is to die for). Anyone who wants to have good food and a good time come here!!! This is my new favorite place to come to for everything and anything, to eat, to study or to even just chill!

The food and setting are very nice - it is more like an english cafe where you sit there for hours and enjoy your food and drink. So be prepared for the slow service - altho I believe it is them giving you time and not ignoring you or being to busy to help you. The outside area is very nice - lots of tables and trees overhead to provide some shade. The food is good and there is a large selection. The coffee and pastries are also very good. I got a peanut butter cookie this past weekend after having the bruschetta - both were amazing! Try them!!
