Based on one meal, the bibimbap was significantly better than many of the Oakland Koreatown restaurants I have eaten at and the handful of San Francisco and Sunnyvale restaurants too, although the rice for the bibimbap strangely came in a separate bowl. The restaurant was immaculately clean, but the service was barely average. The menu indicates that lunch prices are reasonable, but dinner was a little overpriced ($12 for bibimbap? and nearly $20 for a very modest salmon dinner). I suggest dropping by for lunch if you want to try it out. Update: I ate there two more times recently and was just as happy as the first time I went. Yum!

The food at this place is worth three stars. We ordered cooked Galbi and cold noodles, both are average level --- Galbi is a bit too chewy with overlooked burns, and cold noodle is only ok. The reason I gave two stars are because of price and service. We entered the restaurant unattended for about 5 minutes. Waiter comes 10 minutes after we were seated to take orders. Price is high considering the environment and service, and the actual serving size. The Galbi is a typical plate size you get for lunch, priced at thirty dollars. Cold noodle is fourteen. Will not come back.

Visiting our son at Pitt and we wanted to try a different neighborhood. First time in strip district. Wont be our last. Loved it. Stopped in Kaya for lunch. Matt, the host was awesome... Kept us informed regarding our wait, Lunch was delicious. I had the fried chicken sandwich with the habanero honey mustard sauce.. Chicken was crispy and moist without being greasy.. Will definitely get it next time. My son had the shrimp po boy and devoured it. Husband went for the Cuban... Always a delicious choice. Will definitely come back to Kaya next time we are in Pittsburgh!!!

i absolutely LOVE Kaya and make it a point to go every time Im in the area. Their food is just so well seasoned and marinated and their specialty galbi is unlike any other Ive had - even in KTown in LA! They also have an expansive menu; offering more than just the normal AYCE BBQ foods you often associate with Korean food. The owner has come out before to check on me and seems to really take pride in her restaurants offerings. The staff has always been super nice and helpful, and I never find myself unhappy when leaving the restaurant. I wish they were in LA!

Surprisingly low key plaza for the delicious restaurants. Kaya is relatively new to the area offering kbbq and a la carts options. Great place to chill with coworkers for lunch or have a nice spread with family for dinner. One of the best seafood pancakes in the area for price and crispy pop! Their fried chicken is pretty good too but come naked and have to be dipped in sauce. Only drawback Ive had the past couple times is the service is a bit lackluster, but thats perhaps why they have the table buzzers. Give it a try. Check out my pics of my fave dishes!

Im Chinese, but I still love Korean food. Moved from NY, so the transition to Bay area Korean restaurants was tough. Still, happy I found this place, which I think serves decent Korean. I love the small dishes (pan chan?) - above average variety. Good seaweed, tofu, fermented beans, etc. BBQ is quality. Not superb best Ive had in my life, but solid. I also am a fan of their Soon Doo Bu JiGae (tofu stew). Restaurant atmosphere is also surprising nice inside!

Ive been here half a dozen times for korean bbq, and love it. The restaurant itself is very nice, clean, and with very attentive service. The food is excellent, as good as the Korean BBQ Ive had in Seoul. For the vegetarians Id recommend the tofu soup (amazing and spicy), and the Bibimpap (rice, vegetables of all kinds, hot sauce, egg on a sizzling platter) which is fantastic.

I try this place every now and then in hopes that it improves, but so far it hasnt. Its a shame since there are so few Korea restaurants in the area. The food was not great and super pricey. Once I found hair in my food, another time I found a bug on my lettuce leaf. Ugh! I have not had such a bad experience at any other place before. And the service was extremely slow.

This place has the best Dotson bitmap that Ive had in CA ! The dumplings are great too. Ive been here like 3 times already, bringing friends and also when I just want some good Korean food and dont feel like looking for anything else. Yang Gangsta is my go-to for bitmap like BCD Tofu House is for sunburn jiggle. The side dishes are always good too!

Food was OK, service was HORRIBLE! At lunch, ordered an item from the lunch menu and they charged me the dinner price. When I distorted it, they said they gave me the wrong menu (with the wrong prices) and wouldnt change anything. The manager laughed is out of the restaurant when we complained at the service. Such a disgrace of service.

I would rate it lower, but for the area, this is considered good Korean food. For people that are new to Korean food, please order some beef or chicken, its called "BARBEQUE". Do not order Ramen here like my friend Sebastian did.

Ive never had bad soft tofu at a Korean restaurant, and this restaurant is no exception. I ordered the soft tofu and it was pretty good. I also like the little dishes. The service is to par

We came in for like five minutes, no waiter shows up. We ordered Gal Bi. The meat is very hard to chew. The price is too high for such food and service. Will not come again. Dont recommand.

Good Korea BBQ. Like that theres the option to cook at table or in the back kitchen, depending on how much you want to smell afterwards.

Decent Korean BBQ, but the service is not super-attentive and the number of banchan dishes (sides) we got was very limited (five or so).

A friendly place, with nice interior, good food and service. Not the cheapest, not for every day, but worth a visit.

OK food for this area. Not as good as Santa Clara. Great banchan. Good bulgogi.. A little dry Bibimbap.
