Decently Priced Chinese Dim Sum Harbor City is an unassuming restaurant that isnt exactly the nicest or prettiest on the block; but what it lacks in looks, it makes up for in flavors -- with certain dishes, at least. The dry-wok string beans and garlic are nearly as good as Din Tai Fungs. Expertly prepared and one of the best dishes they offer, in my opinion. Extremely delicious and impressive. I found it a bit strange that the used jalapeno as their spice rather than dried chiles, but the crispy garlic really made this the standout dish of the night. The shrimp and cilantro dumplings were good as well -- albeit, a bit hard to grab and bland unless dipped in black vinegar and soy sauce. Once dipped, they were quite delicious; its just a shame that you arent given a dish for this purpose; nor is it ever explained to you. I have a feeling that many people new to Chinese / Taiwanese cuisine wont know to do that and will come away not understanding why their dumplings were so underseasoned. But even so -- they should be seasoned to some degree. The BBQ pork was good while it was hot, but once it cooled down, it just didnt taste as fresh as I would have liked. Granted, this was an hour before close. The dish was still perfectly edible and featured a nice crusty exterior covered in five spice and sugar. It had just been prepared earlier in the day and lost some of the texture you get from freshly roasted pork. Either way, this would be great with some fried rice. However, the Peking duck - especially the fat - had a refrigerated taste that was off-putting when not covered up with hoisin sauce. It also lacked in proper seasoning. And as the most expensive dish we ordered, I wish we had given it a pass and doubled down on the beans. I wasnt really impressed with much besides the beans (which alone are worth it), but there are still many items to sample. The service here is friendly, pricing is fair, and I would be curious to come here for lunch when some of these items are a bit fresher. If you want dumplings, I cant recommend any place over Din Tai Fung. If you want a decent place where you can try a handful of Chinese dishes for $25-30, and still come away full, then this is your destination.

This place was my favorite chinese restaurant even kept going after they stopped giving out the mango coconut jello after ur meal for free to white people, Asian customers get it free right in front of u ever time. But the food was great so that didnt stop us. Unfortunately things change, I got to pick which bbq pork I wanted from the window I picked the hot pink fresh one as they had 8 of those verses the 2 brown brick colored dried out sitting to long looking ones but when it arrived at our table they switched it to the brown old one I was kinda pist but more disappointed as this place was special to me. Do they really think white people r stupid and not notice something like that. Then we ordered our regular stuff and boom now the Mongolian is not Mongolian anymore its deep red in color and totally tasted like chili schezwan and to much sherry vinegar not good at all that was not Mongolian they used to make it the best now it taste totally different and like a bottled chili schezwan sauce, plus they served us sweet and sour sauce right out the fridge didnt even warm it was straight up freezing cold even had a fatty sediment on top never had that happen b4 either gross, it honestly felt like we didnt matter to them and we shouldnt be there. And last but not least we watched all the Asian customers get their jello free except us that experience was and is our last.

I like this place so much. I am willing to give a five stars, even if I need to find parking on the street. It is a small restaurant, but their dim sum is better then Jade Garden. Some of their orders are made frashly in the kitchen, but you need to bring a Cantonese friend for their "special" order. They serve better and faster if you are able to speak in Cantonese. We spend around $60 plus tips for 5 adults for dinner. We loves their dry-wok green spout with garlic. We could never get the same result for cooking the same dish in our home. It tasted so good, so I am highly recommend this to anyone. MoreOver, if you want to order dim sum, you could simply ask the waitress to check in the kitchen. Last time we order the sticky rice chicken over the lotus leaf instead of steam rice.

We arrived after 8 pm they werent overly busy and we got a table pretty quick. From there we got water as we watched the table of 6-8 that came in after us get water, tea, menus and their first dish. All the while we were still waiting for a simple menu or anyone else to acknowledge we were even there. Maybe its because we were not from the ID I dont know. However, after 30 minutes we decided to get up and leave. At this point they asked if we were ready to order. How can we order if we dont even have a menu and nobody has been by since the guy who seated us???? Pings got our money and was more than happy to feed us 10 minutes before she closed! I think HC is owned by the same people as jade garden and we had extremely slow service and similar treatment there as well.

This place doesnt look like much from the outside, and the inside looks very outdated, HOWEVER once you pass the superficial flaws, the food is simply amazing. I dont think I have ever had Chinese food this good before. This is not the P.F. Chang American style Chinese food, this is (at least from what I was told) the real Chinese food that regular people in China consume. It is so good. It is so fresh (I mean you can literally see the staff picking and cleaning vegetable right next to you), and the taste is simply amazing. I dont know how to describe all the flavors that I tasted, simply amazing. The price is amazingly low (at least compared to South Florida where Im from). If I ever visit Seattle again, this will be the place that I go to for every meal.

Delicious dim sum! The food safety rating is "okay" . We had the Peking duck and a delicious assortment of dim sum. While it was super delicious, the okay rating just didnt leave me feeling very comfortable about eating there. An okay rating is received when a restaurant makes repeatedly poor food safety errors that leave them in the bottom 10% of all restaurants inspected in that particular neighborhood. Violations can include: not keeping raw meat at required temperatures, presence of insects and rodents, improper sewage or garbage disposal, unsanitary utensils and food surfaces, and more. I would love to give this Restaurant a higher rating but it will need to improve its food safety measures first and foremost!

This place deserves these stars for the sole fact that they serve dim sum all day. The great part is that it is always freshly made. The shumai dumplings are big and plump. The hargow is juicy and steamy fresh. There hasnt been a dish that I have disapproved while here be it night or day. The outside may look a bit dingy but inside is rather large and relatively clean for chinatown standards. The service and price is pretty on par with competitors in chinatown. My only gripe is that sometimes service can be inconsistent. There has been times if I order something itll take over 30 minutes to get or they simply forget. However its still one of the best places to get dimsum in the greater seattle area.
