A couple quick observations. Its a small but ample area to operate out of. You step in from off the street right to the order counter. The person that greeted me was pleasant enough. I was warned that its cash only, so I walked up with that in my hands. The lunch ordering system seemed simple enough. One choice of meat, two and more, with rice. I was told to try the duck, and I chose the chicken to accompany it. As I was seated, I noticed I was the least Asian looking of the patrons. I used my chopsticks as that seemed to have diverted watchful eyes. The duck and chicken were fantastic! The staff were speaking loudly to each other in Mandarin as much as I could figure out, and then that would be interrupted by the chop-chop-chop of the butcher and her clever serving up the BBQ. I was laughing inside and quietly to myself. The duck and chicken were cut with the bones and all. So in order to get to the tastiness, you navigated through the bones. As I rated, I liked it, but I didnt quite love it - if that makes sense.

(I usually begin with pros, and then cons, but I reorder so you could see the point I am trying to make. Cons: - Small and Dingy - Not too clean (Lets make 2 negative) Pros: - Food taste comparable to good Chinese restaurant. - Dirt cheap! (Order the Chicken and Salted fish fried rice $5.50, you cant beat that) - Compare to Kau Kau, Kau kau has "soggy" (you could call it "juicy") meat. TK BBQ meat" are "drier" / Crispy.

This is a staple for me as I work down in the ID. Cheap and tasty. Very authentic feel and lots of asians frequent this place. If you want fancy then this is not your place. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Singapore style fried vermicelli and BBQ pork + noodle soup are my recommendations to get your feet wet.

Excellent crispy duck and bbq pork. Its mostly frequented by non-English speakers, so the staff was somewhat short with a couple of non-regulars. But we enjoyed our food, and it was a great value. The decor is super shabby and somewhat dirty. Id have given 4 Stars, but its just a little too dingy and unwelcoming.

Decent BBQ. Big generous portions. Friendly people. Family owned. All the good things I love about Chinese BBQ restaurants. Be sure to come early before all the good stuff runs out. Its a small place, so take out is best. But if you choose to stay and eat, you get a bowl of free soup with your meal!

Holy mackerel. Large portions at a reasonable price. I am going back! I walked to this place while getting my car serviced at the BMW dealership. Happy to have found it!

Best Contonese BBQ in the town , there is also soup with most of the entres. Sometimes the product might be a little salty , but overall good food.

I am not sure why people prefer kau-kau. To me, the best Cantonese bbq in Seattle, hands down, goes to Tonkiang
