Decent food, but unfortunately terrible service. They dont take reservations, so we arrived with a group of 8 expecting to wait a bit on a Monday night. The hostess was visibly negative when I said "table for 8?", her response: "its going to be a long wait, at least an hour, hour and a half". The place was busy, but not insane. Still, we waited and watched at least 1 table that cleared and was given to smaller parties instead of us. A full 2 hours later we were seated. They promptly added 2 strangers to our table with us, which would be fine except the table was barely big enough for 10. The server tried to push us towards "family style" eating (easier for them) though we wanted individual meals. I ordered the burger with no pickles or onions, I got a bun with meat and a little cheese (missing lettuce, tomato, bacon). I would have sent it back if I could find our server. At the end, the server quickly and sneakily whisked away 2/3s of a chicken a member of our group wanted to take home and threw it away. When confronted he said "I asked but you were all talking and didnt respond so I assumed..." (No way, we were all sitting there, chicken was center table, he didnt ask). They gave us a whole chicken to compensate, but he clearly wasnt happy about it. In short: good food, but be warned if you have a large group; they clearly cant handle it well!

This is a wine bar, bbq restaurant, and retail shop. The retail shop offers several monthly and quarterly wine and spirit club subscriptions, sending subscribers selections at regular intervals. I recently subscribed to two quarterly clubs, one of which was the "Whiskey Runner Club". Priced at $249/quarter, subscribers of this club receive two bottles of "highly allocated and pedigreed whiskeys". In my first delivery, I received a Signatory bottling of 18 year old Caol Ila, which was a fine choice, as well as a bottle of FEW bourbon, which Bounty Hunter claimed to merit a retail price of $99.95 per bottle (graciously reduced to a mere $89.95 for club subscribers). Even in a single-barrel, cask-strength form (which is what Bounty Hunter sent me), FEW bourbon does not even come close to carrying that value. (As a point of comparison, while in NYC, I recently purchased an official bottling of Highland Park 18 for $104.70. To suggest that FEW bourbon is a peer whiskey meriting a similar price point is simply ridiculous.) I thus came to consider the retail offerings to be of tremendously poor value and cancelled my subscriptions.

I have never posted about a resturant before but I had to say SOMETHING about this place. Before you ask, no. Im not from the south. I have traveled to several places all over the country and world. This is by far the BEST barbecue place Ive even been to. I usually dont really like pork or a lot of bbq but when I smelled this place from several blocks away me and my fiance followed our noses until we found this place. It was small inside and only a little outside seating but their selection of wine, beer and variety of spirits was amazing! Definitely a hidden gem! Great prices too! I was so excited to see they had wine flights! Great service and atmosphere! As for the food, oh my! I am usually not interested in pork but when I came in I saw the menu and knew I HAD to have it. It was very unusual from what I usually order at a new restaurant but my gut told me to try it and boy am I glad I did! That pulled pork sandwich was gone faster than ... something that goes very fast! Like my wine flight! If you want great food, great service and a true taste of Napa, come in to Bounty Hunter and pull up a stool!

The experience was not great. The hostess was nice, a waitress that had blonde hair was super sweet, but the brunette with blonde in her hair was the worst. She basically rolled her eyes when we were waiting over 40 minutes for our table for four when she asked where to put our cider we ordered. We happened to order artichokes and a bottle of wine while we waited in the waiting area, finally got seated, then the rude waitress asked us in a strange manner, "Is that all youre ordering", which her demeanor was terrible. We were the last table to be seated, and everyone seemed to have their food already, however it took close to 20 minutes or more to get our food after we waited for our waitress to initially help us after 10 minutes of waiting at our table. The food was excellent! However, the waitress ruined our experience. The unbelievable wait was annoying. We initially arrived at the restaurant at 8:17 pm, but didnt get any food until close to 9:30 pm. Overall, not happy with the experience and will not be back.

One our first night in Napa we landed at the Bounty Hunter. I am pretty positive we could smell it from our air BNB a mile away! Walked into a cozy and business casual atmosphere. Tall tables chairs, at the time we had to stand at the wine library due to limited seating. But nonetheless they were quick to accommodate us! My fellow drinkers and I each got a flight. They certainly did not disappoint! We tried flights immediately. The great white, which I did not get to taste, the three Waypointes (which was my favorite as a happy cab), and Rib eatin reds. Comical menu names. My favorite wines were the 2012 Waypointe Cab, and the 2012 Bounty Hunter Cab. Great contenders! We ordered a ton of food and it was ALL good! I dont think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. Beer Can Chicken was a crowd pleaser, as well as the The Bounty Hunter Smokin BBQ platter was a hit! All sides were amazing as well such as mac & cheese, salads, and pickles! Ill be back for sure!

Hubby and I shared their beer can chicken sandwich with potato crisps and pulled pork sandwich with corn bread. I dont have words to describe the chicken sandwich - it was to die for. The pulled pork was delicious and smoky. I recommend leaning far over your plate to eat because the sauces they bring to your table can get messy. I deducted a point because they have ONE RESTROOM for 30ish people. Also, the table layout leaves something to be desired. They have too many 6-tops and not enough 4-tops. The layout, I think, makes it difficult for wait staff to be as attentive as they should be. If you do go, I recommend making a reservation. Drink whiskey if you like it. Skip the wine. Dont try the *one* specialty cocktail - an Old Fashioned does not have simple syrup in it. Get a beer instead.

Very disappointed with this place. We called and asked if they accept reservations as we had 9 people in our group. They informed us they did not, so we decided to go anyway and sit by the bar until our table was ready. The bar tender was incredibly rude! We wanted to order a bottle of wine and when we questioned the list he told us to read it ourselves and figure it out. We also noticed reserved signs on the tables which we empty. We asked about it and they did say they were holding them for people? The hostess was not accommodating either and very abrupt. We decided to leave and eat elsewhere. I would not recommend this establishment if you are looking for a friendly staff but if you prefer stuck up, snobby service this is the place for you.
