I came here with a group for brunch yesterday. All the staff I interacted with were friendly and the bloody mary was delicious. The bottomless mimosas seemed to contain very little champagne, though. And we arrived at 9:30 am, but it took until after 10:00 to receive our first cup of coffee - we were told it was brewing all of that time. Coffee was good once we finally got to try it. My biggest problem was with the supposed "beer-battered banana bread waffle". This came out looking like your average belgian waffle, with 5 thin slices of fresh banana evenly spaced out on top. And the taste was like your average belgian waffle with 5 slices of fresh banana on top. I tasted no beer, no banana bread, and you could only detect whisky in the maple syrup if you closed your eyes and really thought about it. I asked an employee where the beer batter was and he returned from the kitchen to explain they used some beer IN the batter. I think this is major false advertisement. I also tried the huevos rancheros. The description says "house fried tortillas" but they were just corn tortillas out of a bag. The rest of the flavors on the plate were good. Also ordered a biscuit on the side. It came out cold. Sent it back to be heated. Returned warm with a side of butter. A friend reported the biscuit on her "skinny biscuit" was also served cold. Went to the restroom two times during this visit. The first time, I discovered one of the two soap dispensers was broken and the other one only dispensed a 1/8 of a pea size amount of soap, and that was after pushing the lever 5 times. This made me concerned over the level of cleanliness of the servers hands. The second time I used the restroom there was vomit in one of the two sinks. I could not finish my meal after that. With all of the better brunch options in Sacramento, I will not return to the Pour House.

I love the French Toast but they have terrible service and today they basically treated me like I was invisible. If you act like you cant see me then you wont see my money! I went here for the first time 2 weeks ago for Saturday brunch and the waitress I had was completely clueless and couldnt answer simple questions about the place. I figured she was new and didnt hold it against her or the restaurant. I really wanted to get french toast today but ultimately walked out for lack of service. When I walked in, no one greeted me. They were a bit busy so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I seated myself only to have a waitress storm over to tell me I couldnt sit there because her customers from the patio were moving to that table. She told me the only available seats were at the bar or patio. I moved to the bar then decided I wanted to eat on the patio since it was nice outside. I flagged down the clueless waitress from last time to let her know I was moving to the patio and she says they dont serve out there. Umm ok? So I let someone at the bar know I was ready to order and she calls another guy to help me. But instead of coming over he starts a convo with someone at the other end of the bar. Since no one had the proper training to acknowledge my existence, I left. Its unfortunate, because this place has the potential to be a good restaurant but their staff need some serious training.

I like the Pour House on occasion. The mixologists are great and the cocktails are on par with many of the higher-end bars in town. They host a good comedy open mic at the end of the month along with Drunk Poetry at the end of the month. There tends to be a few to many "bro-heims" in plaid button-down shirts and baseball caps for my taste. This has led to confrontations between this set and female comics at the open mic. But, later in the evening the crowd tends to get a little more quiet and amenable to a wider diversity of clientel. The place is too loud most of the time for good conversation. I would not recommend it for a date or a place to chat, but for a good night out drinking its okay.

Quirky downtown bar and venue a bit off the beaten path. With a small outdoor patio backed up to the train tracks, one of the novelties is $2 shots whenever a train goes by. They do have happy hour food and drink specials and a small venue in the back room. We enjoyed the Cajun pasta, French fries, and a steak salad. All were good, but not exceptional. Brew choices on tap were also good, but not stellar. You are also encouraged to order all food and beverage at the bar instead of from your table.

Came here for drinks and nibbles a bit ago. I stuck to Jameson and old Rasputin for drinks but got their grilled cheese sticks. I normally hate grilled cheeses but this was delicious as hell. Especially the marinara dipping sauce which I ended up eating at the end just on its own. The sweet potato fries are good though the best part or rather the most memorable would have to be their ketchup/sriracha blend. Definitely very flavorful and hope to return for this sometime soon.

Always have good service here. The alcohol selection is extensive and the beer choices are solid with a good handful of rotating taps. The food menu is well thought out and is a cut above most bars. This place can get quite busy on the weekend, dancing is often encouraged during that time. However, during the week it feels like a hidden little gem in midtown. Definitely worth checking out...... Also... if you want to save some dough, order shots when a train goes by.

Matt and Justin are two of the best bartenders Sacramento has to offer. I travel out of my way, when I get the chance from Folsom, just to come and try the great whiskey and beer selection they have. Matts sazerac was one of the best cocktails Ive ever had and Justins knowledge of beer and liquor was beyond anything i even expected. Is there a way to give 6 stars. Theres no way anyone can give a bad review if these guys are tending the bar. Highly!!! Highly recommend!!!

I like the name but definitely there is no water. But you can get high here if you keep drinking. I did not eat the food here. This was one of our sac beer bike stop. Overall the place is great for drinks. They have outside seating. And whenever the train passes you can get $2 drinks which we never got. No train passed....darn it.

Bartenders really know their stuff. Great cocktails, great beer selection. Order the wings that have been introduced since it became Highwater. Really good and, finally, a different take on a tired area of bar food. TVs for sporting events but they dont kill the atmosphere. Back patio is cool. Great place.

Asked the bar tender to cut a lime for me he had in full display and he yelled at me and told me he would kick me out. Poor customer service!!! If he didnt want limes touched he should put them out of reach of paying customers!!!! Will never go there again! Oh turns out he is the owner! Ha!
