We have a very bad experienced in this restaurant. Its a 4th of July, around 8:15 pm. We are walk-in guest to have Dinner. Don;t have a lot of customer so we think its ok. The male hostess assist us and we have to wait for 10 minutes to preparation of our table. After 10 minutes, We have table and we sat in the patio area outside while seeing the Menu. Then, it took 20 minutes to the waitress showed-up to take our order. We get the house Red wine and its arrived for at least more or less in 4 minutes with a glass of water. Remember is not busy not a lot of guest then, why in a hell our order didnt yet arrive? And were just thinking maybe theres a problem or what so ever in the kitchen so, were just still wait. Finally, one waiter noticed us and us if we had order and we say YES! but till now 45 mins, passed nothing. He said he will check the kitchen after 2 mins. the hostess ask if we still need something? So, we order another glass of red wine, then it arrived with in 2 mins. Then, we ask him the male hostess who gave us the 2nd glass of red wine why our order take so long? He said he will check it to the kitchen. After 3 mins. he came back and he said that if we can wait for more or less 10 mins. Then, we decided just cancelled the order and bring us the bill for the 2 glasses of red wine. Then, after 3 mins. the waitress who took our order showed up and she told us. In a good manners "Sorry guys if you keep you long for your order - You dont need to pay for the two glasses of red wine. At least they admitted that it is their fault. Thats the bad experienced we have had in The Porch Restaurant and Bar.

Came here for Sunday brunch on Dec 6 for my friends birthday with 6 ladies total. After wrapping up we received our bill and put down 5 cards to cover for our 6th friends birthday and handed it to our server to close out. Bill came back, we signed it, tipped and left. Shortly thereafter a member of our party received a voicemail from the restaurant, her number was on the reservation, saying to call back because there was an error on the bill and so she calls back. She gets connected with the manager who had the audacity to claim that one of our friends skipped out on paying and wanted to charge all of our cards again for the correct amount. My friend let her know we put down 5 cards to be split equally. The manager failed to realize that her server didnt do her job correctly, she must have counted the amount of people at our table and split the bill that way rather than counting the tender she was given and now the manager wanted us all to pay after everyone split up and took off for the Bay Area and beyond Sacramento. My friend mentioned that she was no longer with the party and that she cant authorize that transaction and speak on behalf of others. The manager gave her some attitude and said she would call back and never did most likely realizing that they were in the loss and now left 6 people with a poor experience for a $17 mistake made on THEIR part. Extremely unprofessional management and indecent treatment to local patrons supporting a regionally sourced restaurant.

Pressed for time I went to an early lunch with 3 co-workers so it had just opened and was empty still. I ordered the "Fried Green Tomato Caprese Salad 12/16" and despite the $4.00 extra I added chicken. I stopped the waiter after he had taken all the orders and made sure he added the chicken to my salad. When food came there was no chicken on my salad. When I politely pointed it out, he apologized then said it would take "20 seconds" to get that for me. Then asked if I wanted a biscuit, which I obviously assumed was to make up for the fact the chicken was missing. When everyone including me was just about finished eating, my minuscule pieces of chicken finally showed up almost 30 minutes later. When the bill finally came, the $3.00 biscuit and the $4.00 chicken was on the bill, plus I was charged $16.00 for the salad. Obviously I was double charged for the chicken. $12 + $4 + $3 = $19 $16 + $4 + $3 = $23 $23 + $4 + $4.05 tip is $31.05 so under the circumstances I thought a $3.00 tip was fair. I left $30.00 total. Look "The Porch", I shouldnt have had to ask for your waiter to comp the chicken. Why did your waiter up-sell me a biscuit after your waiter screwed up the order? Why was I double charged for the chicken that arrived after I was nearly finished eating? The food was delicious but what is the point of the service is so bad?

On Sunday, it was my first time here at "The Porch". I looked at the brunch menu, its southern food inspired which excited me more. I love southern food. Customer service- as soon we sat down, the waitress came to take our drink order and food. She refilled our cups once and the second time around we asked for refill. The service seemed to deteriorate as customers were filling up the restaurant. It took them over 45 minutes to deliver the food to our table. Not the waitress fault at all for the delay. Food - We ordered chicken with waffles. It was suppose to be crispy chicken but it was overly dried and cooked. And they forgot my bacon. So they ended up bringing after I mentioned to the waitress. The waffle was not as crispy as expected. My husband ordered brisket. Neither was he overly impressed with hes food. It was just another meal, eating without much excitement. The brie appetizer was great and I loved the mini sugar snack that restaurant provides. That was delicious. Atmosphere - restaurant is nice and clean. Decorate is minimal but its lovely. They do have sitting outside. Parking - next to the restaurant is public parking for $5 but you can park on the streets on Sundays for free. Another spot checked off from my food bucket list.

This was a very dissapointing experience. We had reservations for brunch, were a few minutes early and were seated right away. While waiting for our meal we noticed that customers seated after us were getting their food before we did. When we asked if there was a problem we were assured by our waitress that our "food was coming right out". Our companions asked to see the Manager and the waitress said she/he was aware of the problem in the kitchen. An hour later we received our barely warm food. The potatoes were undercooked and the bacon was cold. Although the biscuit and gravy was good (Im sure it would have been great HOT) it wasnt worth the wait or the money. Had we not had companions along we would have walked out after 35 minutes. The waitress didnt come back to check to see if everything was OK until she brought the check! You would think that after making us wait an hour for cold food that was supposed to be hot the very least youd get was an "Im sorry". Nope, nothing. We wont be back, there are too many other restaurants that deserve our hard earned money and we deserve to be treated better than what we got. Management at The Porch, you should be ashamed of yourselves.
