Terrible customer service and food. First, the fish & chips was uncooked inside and the tri-tip sandwich tasted like lighter fluid. My friend and I shared both dishes and I wanted to send the sandwich back immediately but she was embarrassed to do so. But after we each ate one of the fish sticks, I couldnt stand how bad the food was and I sent back the rest of the fish and told the manager about it. In most restaurants, if there is a problem with the food, the manager comes and is totally cool and either replaces the dish or comps the food or both. Not at this place. Check this out! The girl comes back over and says, "Youre right, it was way undercooked, but since you already ate some of the fish I can only refund you for the part you havent eaten yet." Are you serious?? So its OK to eat almost raw fish? Terrible management and customer service. They lost us as customers and I hope no one else will go there until they learn how to treat their guests and how to own up to their mistakes. The potato fries were good, everything else was bad.

What happened to this place? We used to love stopping by here for a late night treat after a show. We tried to do that this past Friday night at 10:20pm and they were closing 40 minutes early. What? After some insisting on our part, we were allowed to buy a drink and pastry and given 10 minutes to eat it. By 10:40pm they were literally pushing us out the door. And they even called my friend rude when she stopped to let them pass in front of her. The staff was certainly in the mood for a fight. I hope they fix the bad service. We used to really like it.

This is one of the best places to get some coffee or light bites while studying. It has everything from sandwiches and salads to a very large dessert display case. I have never experienced any issues with the WiFi and theres always been plenty of seating both indoors and out. My only word of caution is regarding the number of power outlets. If you are just looking for coffee and dessert, this is the place to go. If youre studying and need to be handcuffed to a power source, there are only a few as you walk into the left.

My friends and I had brunch there several weeks ago. Food...mediocre at best and awful at worst. I had huevos rancheros that were so bad they could not be eaten. Cold eggs and tortillas. Canned frijoles refritos and dry tasteless Spanish rice (probably out of a box). Belgian waffle was small and bland, my friend reported. Other friend had scrambled eggs and pancake. Pancake was inedible because of saltiness. Might go there for coffee and a pastry, but will never order anything resembling a meal.

Good place to grab a quick beer and sit outside while finishing work on the laptop. Some of the clerks can be a bit cheeky (and not in a good way). I once asked if they had a certain type of pastry, and the clerk asked me to describe it. I described it and said they have them over at so-so cafe down the street, and she replied that I "could just go shop there instead". I couldnt tell if she was joking :-/ but I try not to talk to them more than necessary now.

Had the Caesar Salad which was billed as authentic but only thing to distinguish it from McDonalds is the dressing. Come to think of it the McDonalds might be a plus as it comes in a container which allows for tossing instead of trying to do so on a plate. Never seen an authentic see through that I had to toss myself. Gets three stars only for atmosphere, decent coffee and the promise in the pastry display.

I wrote much of Enchantment, What the Plus!, and APE at La Tartine. I love that theres lots of parking across the street, theres good Wifi, and there are no VCs eating there. The staff is very nice, and the food is very good. Its as close to the Seine as you can get in Redwood City. :-) It would be nice if there were electric plugs on the east side of the restaurant.

2 !/2 stars, the pastries are good, but the quality is starting to slide. Salads have always come with bread and I noticed the last time I was there they were giving half as much as previously. Today I ordered the Caesar salad ($9.50) and because it has some croutons on it you dont get bread. Time to start exploring the tens of other new restaurants in Redwood City.

Good warm beverage menu -- I suggest the chai -- with a fully stocked, wide-ranging pastry counter. The tiramisu is quite good and has a solid liquer kick to it. The staff is attentive and moves quickly. There is plenty of seating inside and outside, and its location is great for people watching.

My new go to for breakfast. Huge selection of pastries and cakes. A breakfast, sandwich, and soup menu. I love the quiche. Also full service coffee bar and wine too. Large restaurant with outdoor seating though it can get crowded on rainy days. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Pretty cozy place except for two things dont go here in the afternoons on a weekend because theyll only have the left overs plus its too noisy but overall i liked this place plus its near a Century Theater. If u want to watch a movie b4 or after getting a pastry at this place

The outdoor seating is great. Amazing dessert and coffee. they also have refills on their ice teas ! Whats not to like? The only reason I gave 4 starts is that they made small mistakes on our orders a few times but the food and atmosphere is great.

great place to sit and have coffee or light food. Large, and open plus seating outside. They should switch to CFL though.... the incandescent lights kind of bother me from a green perspective... Food is a bit too expensive I think.

I went here early in the morning for breakfast and to get some work done. I ordered the oatmeal with fruit and some scrambled eggs along with an Americano. Everything was very tasty and I really enjoyed the atmosphere.

Love this place. Pleasant atmosphere, good sandwiches -- theyll make them to your specifications, wonderful desserts, nice microbrews, and good coffee, with free refills. Great place to chill with a glass of wine too.

Although the food is a solid 4 I have to give this a 2 because of the staff. They almost expect you to give them a tip before you even order anything to the point where you get a dirty look if you dont right away.

large selection of sweets. Good prices. Best for light lunches like salads, soups or light sandwiches. Some healthy options which is nice to see. Parking in the area can be a pain especially Fri/Sat nights.

Nice place to sit and chat, people watch, laptop friendly. Great coffee/tea and snack/dessert options. Pies, cakes, tarts, eclairs, puff pastry, soups, sandwiches, salad. Stop in before or after movie.

Employees were eating behind the cashier register during their shift. And without washing their hands were continuing serving the customers. Are you kidding me? Not following the food safety regulations?

Great outdoor patio for people watching on the less-trafficked (by cars) section of Middlefield. Good breakfast and lunch fare as well as fine cafe options. Delicious pastries and exquisite cakes.
