Two words- Michael Mina. Four more- Truly modish and elegant. Eight extra- 10 year anniversary was sensational, props to Arcadia. With this chic and modern restaurant, I have to give props to Michael Mina for constructing one of the most sophisticated dining scenes in the South Bay. Looking through I noticed almost every dish on the menu has a tongue- in- cheek name. It made me that more intrigued. Duck Fat Fries, Glazed Pork Belly,Truffle mac and cheese, Maine lobster pot pie and a handful of high end steak options. From Filet Mignon to American Wagyu. You can also add bone marrow, a butter-poached lobster tail, or select from more than half a dozen sides. Not in the mood for meat? No worries you can opt for fish. I guess that the carnivore in me wasnt up for it so I ended up ordering Grilled Sturgeon which consists of potateo salad and crisp leek caviar butter. I have to say the fish was cooked perfectly. I also have to give Kudos for their Duck Fat fries, beautifully executed and perfectly seasoned. Cut to just the right size and the duck fat added a very rich flavor to the potatoes. I also noticed Arcadia isnt confined to just dinner but also incorporates breakfast and lunch. Celebrating a 10 year anniversary is kind of a big milestone. I am very glad I wound up at Arcadia to make it that more memorable. *Cheers to the next ten*

Reservations for Thanksgiving dinner. Few people in the restaurant and nobody at the bar. The waiter was pleasant, but the service was slow and distracted. The portions of the $40/plate Thanksgiving dinner were laughably small. It was like a joke you’d see on a comedy show or a television commercial. Lets be real, this is turkey and ham not a Wagyu filet mignon. Thanksgiving is supposed to be about bounty. An approximately 3-4 inch disk of ham under a similar size disk of turkey topped with some gravy, a strip of good mashed potatoes about the size of ½ a fingerling potato and the same size portion of bland cornbread stuffing, a spoonful of excellent cranberry sauce and some very good buttery Haricot Verts. The turkey and ham would’ve been very good too if they were hot - sadly mine nor my wife’s were. And my son’s ham had a large piece of gristle in it, strategically hidden by the gravy. The drinks were tasty. This would’ve been a disappointing meal at a Marie Callender’s but at the price and the supposed reputation of the restaurant - it was insulting. Another member of our party paid for it, so I was thankful and didn’t express my disdain for Arcadia at the time. 2 stars because I didnt get sick. I will not go back.

Sophisticated ambiance, high quality ingredients, poor execution in the kitchen. My steak was a bit dry and overcooked (requested med-rare, provided medium). Prices in general are marked up, with the obvious goal of capitalizing on the the business traveler crowd staying at the connected Marriott and adjacent Hilton hotel. And although the wine list was impressive, the extravagant price mark-up on even average wines just compounded my partys disappointment. Most regrettably, service as a whole was terrible. My party experienced long wait times for food, for delivery of our bill, and even return of our credit cards for closing payment. The staff appeared stressed which could be due to being understaffed on that day or poor management in general.

Lobster Corn Dogs! YES! We decided to eat here while at a convention. Thought we were just getting standard "hotel restaurant" food. Pleasantly surprised. The Lobster Corn Dogs were incredibly light and tasty. The Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich was amazing. The Chesapeake Bay Crab Cake Sandwich was pretty good too. Have since found out that this is a Michael Mina restaurant, explaining its elevated menu. The one issue we experienced was in the staffing. They were severely under-staffed on a day when there were 35,000 people in the convention center the hotel is attached to. The staff on duty were doing the best they could but were overwhelmed.

One of Chef Michael Minas restaurants (started in SF and has opened numerous spots across the US). Elegant atmosphere located in downtown San Jose within the Marriott hotel. Overall the food is great and the wine selection is outstanding. After being seated, they usually give complimentary fries with 3 dipping sauces. Just a teaser, but good stuff. I usually go for the steaks and the petite lobster and sometimes the seared scallops. Fantastic! Desserts are also top notch. Place is pricey, so we try to keep to special occasions. Reservations are recommended, but weve always had luck with grabbing a couple seats at the bar (full menu is served).

(Sigh...) The Michael Mina name sets expectations high, but Arcadia leaves so much to be desired. The menu features basic steakhouse fare- featuring items from many other MM restaurants such as the tuna tartare and famous lobster pot pie. The tomato salad was barren of juicy heirloom tomatoes and featured a burrata sans the typical creamy decadence. The gourmet play on poutine was too salty to even finish (and I hate leaving food on the plate). Also, gourmet and poutine should never be uttered in the same sentence... Service was attentive and friendly. The search for quality restaurants in San Jose continues!

Outstanding food. Good service. Nice ambiance. Kitchen was a bit slow. Difficult to get a table if walking in; sometimes there is space in the bar. Many wines by the glass such as three very different sauvignon blancs of which I tried the Sancerre. Mondays wine bottles are half off; pay for two glasses, get a bottle. Heirloom tomato salad was exceptional and creative, very flavorful; a must-try. The wedge salad looked good. Black cod was delicious, superbly executed. The dessert menu looked like average fare, not creative enough for me to try any. The bill was in error. Will be back!

We arrived for a bite before the ballet, and the place was empty. However, they refused to seat us without a reservation. We retreated to the bar, where the entire menu was available. We ordered at the bar, and the staff brought our food to our small table next to the giant-screen TV. The squash soup was very fresh, and lightly seasoned. The Kobe burger was tasty, and the "duck-fat" fries were perfect. When we left, the restaurant was still deserted--who knows why they wouldnt seat us. Come for the food, but be prepared to deal with a poorly-organized and insulting staff.

Went here for brunch. It was good and prices very reasonable. It didnt hurt that we used our Living Social voucher as well.Nice setting. I got blood orange mimosas that I enjoyed along with the Crab cake Benedict which was delicious. There carrot cake-pancakes werent bad just thought maybe if they added a cream cheese icing drizzle to it wouldve definitely brought it home.Overall the food was good.My company enjoyed their meals and cocktails as well but the consensus was that although we had a pleasant waiter the service was a bit slow.

Some of the most creative and tantalizing flavors that dance upon your tounge. The wine list is supreme as well as the hand crafted cocktails and such a diverse selection of beers, there are some you cannot find anywhere. The service is beyond great, you are made to feel cheerful and feel like the only guests in the restaurant because the waiters and assistant waiters are always subtlety checking on you without even having to interrupt you. Highly recommended as the best place to dine in San Jose.
