It was not the best, nor worst, experience Ive had with sushi in this area. It was a below average experience for me, heres why: 1. The menu is a little limited, I like to have more choices. 2. They had some kind of back up in the kitchen, and we had a very long wait - and although they tried to make up for it by giving us edamame on the house - if youre going to make people wait around for 35 minutes for their roll, you better have a better offering than that. I understand that these things happen, but not a good first impression. 3. Server was hot ;) but her service was not all that great. She was nice though, but didnt hold the crab when asked, or hold the tobiko when asked. She also did something strange, she only refilled 2 out of 3 glasses of water that were empty. Not a big deal, but weird. 4. After all of the waiting, she tried to charge us for a $13 roll that we didnt order. Attention to detail obviously was not there all around. 5. The rolls themselves were good enough, except for the fact that there is just a little too much rice and not enough "guts" to the roll. The price is about $.50 - $1.00 too high per roll based on this. However, it is not bad food at all. Id like to say, everyone there was nice and for that reason alone I may go back again to give it another shot. They apologized a few times to everyone there, and tried to make it right, but they could have done a better job of it. Its worth trying Id say, the jury is probably still out on this place.

Closer to a 4.5. than a 4. We have a great time each time we come. There may be a wait occasionally, but the food tastes good, weve never gotten sick, and they have a happy hour at the perfect time (5-6:30PM). Theyre also close to home, so when we are craving sushi, we always come here. Not as fancy as some of the bigger places, but the service is attentive, and theyre more than okay with families (read:small children) coming in for dinner. Well keep going here as long as theyre open.

We love this local sushi joint. The staff is always friendly and recognizes us. We even were seated at our favorite table tonight. The Tiffany Roll is an explosion of flavor. Well worth it for a specialty roll. I always take an 8 pc of salmon sashimi. Never dissapoints with freshness and flavor. The music is a fun mash up of current hits. Overall a gem in Pinole for sushi!

Hostess very rude it says 230 but if you show up at 2 they wont seat you the chef told the hosts it was up to her if she wanted to seat me and she said no well you probably just missed out on your best tip of the day if I was the owner I would be angry your missing out on business. but theres plenty of other sushi restaurants I can spend b my money at

The sushi is always fresh and have always had a great experience. Shop around,but youll find more overpriced sushi restaurants and the sushi quality is poor.If your like me and looking for good quality sushi this is your spot.I dont mind paying a lot for quality but this place is high quality at a reasonable price.CHECK IT OUT

Ive got nothing but great things to say about this place. Service is always topnotch. Food is always fresh and mostly prompt considering its handcrafted sushi, and the price point is competitive. This is my go to spot for not just sushi but Japanese in general.

Tachikawa has never disappointed, unless theyre closed. Unlike other local places, the fish has always been fresh, service on time and clean restroom... If the restroom looks like a gas station restroom, what do you think the kitchen looks like?

ZERO STARS!!!! Went there on three separate days at three different times and never got seated after waiting 30 minutes even though there was no one else in the restaurant except the lazy, useless (non)workers.
