Our company placed an order for pick up (like we always do). When we arrived at the restaurant we walked straight to the cashier. There was a man (who we later found out was the owner) on the phone and when he hung up he directed someone to the register to help us. There was a young girl by the name of Cecilia, who walked straight past us and continued working taking bills from the tables and answering phone calls. She then took a payment of a person behind us COMPLETELY IGNORING US. I then told her we had not yet been helped and apparently she knew that and our food was going to be right out, and then walked away. When we asked for the manager a waitress told us that Cecilia is the owner’s daughter and there was no use in complaining about her. We were completely disrespected and ignored and there was nothing anyone can do about it because that’s the owner’s daughter and she can get away with acting like that. A customer told us that she always acted that way and it seemed to me that she discriminates her own people (Hispanics). I spoke to her in Spanish and she replied in English not even wanting to speak her own language. I worked in a restaurant for over 8 years never disrespected or ignored anyone like that. If my boss was not hungry we would have NEVER paid for the $80 worth of food that we ordered.

I took my aunt and uncle here while they were in town because we used to go to La Barca all the time when I was a kid. We were seated and waited 30 minutes at a table before I got annoyed and went to find someone in case they had forgotten we were there. I was told that someone would be there shortly. Okay, no problem. So another 30 minutes passes and people around us have already been served and are leaving. Everyone ordered in Spanish and was served in Spanish. I speak very broken Spanish, but have lived in this area since I was born. My aunt and uncle lived here for 45 years. We do not deserve this kind of treatment from a local establishment. We were paying customers and were blatantly ignored because, from what I can only assume, we werent the customers they wanted. They didnt even offer us water, and we were not stopped from walking out. We didnt even ask to speak to the manager because they very clearly did not care. NO ONE cared, and it seemed as though they were happy we left. Id leave 0 stars if I could. I am disheartened by the way we were treated after being such loyal customers for so many years.

Ill never go back there. As soon as the waitress heard me order our drinks in English she came back 10 min later and all of a sudden the atm machine didnt work. She had my cup in her hand but it was filled with ice only. Like she didnt want me there. Im actually mexican, I speak Spanish, but Its not perfect thats why I let my husband speak for us when we came in. If the atm machines werent working then why did she only tell Me after letting us sit there for 20 min. She didnt even want to take our order. This is honestly pathetic. After reading the other reviews, Im seeing that not only, Im I one of several others experiencing this bigotry but, theyre the owners family. If you care about your resturant then Id put your clients first. I highly doubt your cousins are going to support you when you eventually suffer the repercussions of their narrow minded poor decisions. Its ok, Ill spend my money where someone wants it, and Ill advise others to do so.

Un asco!! Me salió un cabello en los chips lo mas desagradable fue que me lo saque de la boca. El taco de birria la carne muy seca nada antojable las meseras con una actitud de flojera ni siquiera son atentas un servicio muy lento. No volveré a este restautant. Me quedé con el buen servicio de ocasiones anteriores que viene con mi familia y ahora ya no hay nada de eso. Tienen letra B

Horrible service it seem like because of the language barrier their not able to communicate with their customers also their customer service is really poor .Also if your specialty is birria how do you run out of it on a non busy day .It seems looking at the reviews now how bad their service is I should not have come here I just gave it a change but it was a disappointment. .Advice to the owner listen to your customer and actually take action .If you care more about your family that works for you and it okay for them to be rude to your paying customers. Then I guess you accepted the fact that its okay for your business to go down and Im pretty sure theyll help you out when you dont have a business to own .

Buen servicio. Excelente menú. Este lugar es uno de mis favoritos y cada vez que tengo tiempo vengo a comer aquí. Siempre está lleno pero la espera vale la pena. La comida tiene un buen sabor, las meseras son muy amables siempre y tienen que probar las micheladas.

Its a ripout, the only good thing is the menudo, made only weekends!. That is if they dont run out of it, today I called make sure they still have it, 40 min later driving, Nope They didnt have it , end up getting rip off $18. Same money you go to a GOOD STEAK HOUSE! Camarones a la diabla or any shrimp dish is about $13+ and they count 6 SIX STICKING medium Shrimp. I am telling you it is a scam on your face.

The food here is totally authentic and these people have brought the food style and flavors of the star of Jalisco. Their molcajetes are the standard by which all should be measured. The birria is awesome and full of complex flavors just like it is made in the town of La Barca in Jalisco. There really is nothing bad on the menu. I highly recommend if you guys are in the area. Nothing fancy just real good food.

The Lengua en salsa Verde is always really good here along with the sopes of picadillo. Just dont expect to get right in if its breakfast, lunch or dinner because it gets packed. But thats because its so good. The one in Downey is not as good as this one. They do have a "No Tank top" policy so dress appropriately. Although they did provide me a t-shirt. Im a large and it was 2x but it was considerate.
