Jones is a semi-hipster coffeeshop in Pasadena. Lots of neighborhood bicyclists, hikers, and motorcyclists like to stop by on weekends for coffee. It is also close to the Huntington Memorial Hospital, which is great for those who are sick of the disgusting coffee that the hospital cafeteria serves. Although Jones is very spacious, it is not a good environment for studying or serious reading. The furniture is very spread out and not very comfortable. The high ceiling and warehouse environment is more suited for chatting, lounging, or taking coffee to-go. Jones espresso is cheaper than anywhere else in Pasadena ($2 for 2 shots) that can be prepared longo or ristretto. An 8oz latte is $3, cheaper than Intelligentsia. Jones uses Goodheart organic milk. They also have a Hario pourover station that can brew any bean Jones roasts in-house. Today, Jones daily brew was the Madison Blend. My preference is single origin and not blends, but since the Madison was Jones touted signature, I had to sample it. The Madison is a medium roast using a mix of Guatemala beans. It had relatively low acidity and I tasted notes of notes and sweet caramel. I liked the flavor and would consider purchasing a small batch for home brewing the next time I visit Jones.

This coffee shop is not your traditional shop. Their beans are roasted onsite and while they are roasting, it temperature rises quickly. It is fun to watch them roast, and the smell is deliciously intoxicating. Their arrangement of teas is very pleasing. Try one of their unique blends like the White Orange Blossom. Not sure which tea you want? Ask for a sample, they are usually very generous with tea samples. Jones is very community oriented. Its walls are decorated with Art from local artists. It also hosts many community events, fundraiser and was one if the first businesses in Pasadena to welcome food trucks. Wednesday was their wildly popular Food Truck night. My only caveat is the early closing times and the lack of wifi.

The cashier and workers there were really friendly. The coffee was pretty good. But the manager with the short hair is really rude. Was just finishing work since 5am, decided to visit a college friend who I havent seen for some time who happens to work there and struck a short conversation. The manager came over and told me to go away and sit down like I was some kind of douchebag or something, without even asking "is everything ok here?" or even understand what the situation was. Just talking, not even blocking customers or anything. But if thats the kind of service Im going to receive in the future by the manager, I am sorry but this is unprofessional.

Great coffee but customer service is ok. I was waiting on the table for my coffee expecting for someone to at least say its ready. I finally went up to get my coffee and saw the coffee and asked if it was the one I got. Sarcastically she said yes.. Thank you... (At least sarcastic from my interpretation). I used their sugar and spoon that they have on the table where they make the coffee from since it was my first time and I wasnt aware there was a condiment section. They couldve also at least pointed me to the condiment section..

Oh my goodness. I love Jones coffee. Their coffee doesnt make me miss any of the coffee houses in Silverlake. Nope. I gladly toss my keys to the parking attendant,he can steal my car for all I care. Upon walking in,Im greeted by a unicorn, there is a live band playing and a guy comes up to you to ask if you want a tamale!?? Unicorns, music, coffee and tamales....I mean come in here,we can all agree this is heaven. Clearly.

Family owned. Local business. Great coffee, buy a cup or by the pound. Roasted there. This place comes close to the beloved& legendary (now closed) Espresso Bar, in many ways. Fresh sandwiches of the day & pastries of which many are from another local business, Europane. They just opened a coffee bar next to Vromans Books, on Colorado Bl., another local business. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL BUSINESS!

Best coffee around! Honestly, I love this place not only for its location and neat decor, but for the fact its the closest thing I have to Alterra coffeeshop here in California. Which not exactly the same, it comes pretty close with in-house coffee roasting and large selection of coffee flavors. The pricing of the whole bean bags can be a little steep, but to get good coffee, Im happy to pay it.

best coffee shop in pasadena. done. best coffee shop in L.A. done. best coffee shop in the world...probably. the staff is awesome. Chuck and Mireya, the owners, are both fun and entertaining. try a shot of espresso from Nick! theres no wifi, which at first is a downer, then you realize how rich the community is here bc people are off their computers. its a beautiful thing...Jones Coffee.

Jones Coffee Roasters makes an immediate impact on you when you walk in. A large, open space with eclectic, super cool design features! There is ample seating, ranging from soft leather couches, to outdoor style chairs. The coffee is superb, the staff awesome, and the overall experience there top notch! Parking is directly in front, but can get full, so feel free to use street parking!

The early morning staff is terrible - lots of attitude and condescending. Coffee should be a joy, even early in the morning. I was a faithful customer of Jones early on before they moved locations. Back then the staff was gritty, fun and fanatical about coffee. Today, just a lot of attitude. And the coffee is fine, but not as good as Massetti or Copa Vida.

This is just the best coffee shop in Pasadena. Very laid back place with great coffee and espresso drinks. Very eclectic decor and wide open layout. Jones has outdoor seating which is dog friendly. They have great pastries as well. During the week they have live music as well. Gets busy pretty much everyday but its worth it.

This place reminds me what Starbucks were like in the early days. Everyone works there filled with a sense of believe and pride. Coffee is roasted on premise so very fresh. If you like espresso drink, I recommend Cara Mia, best blend of the three being sold there. Gamblehouse is a favorite of mine as well.

Kind of disappointed. I read the reviews but it was kind of college hang out dumpy, not the elite custom roasters I imagined. Its one step better than whole foods that wanted to give me coffee out of thermos for $$$. I walked out of yjere. Couldnt find Petes, settled for thid. Shouldnt have.

Love this place. Awesome baristas, casual environment, people know your name if you are a regular. They have early morning valet for the morning coffee rush. They have a great little salsa band that plays every friday morning around 9 am that has some legit musicians and vocalists.

The OG local coffee experts. Classes, knowledge, high quality paraphernalia, and most importantly great self-sourced and roasted Jones brand coffee beans in a cool, somewhat hidden in plain sight space. They make excellent cappuccinos too. Only downside is their early closing time.

This place is a real charm. Its small, eclectic environment, yet boasts some of the best coffee Pasadena or even LA has to offer. This is a must-check-out if youre even remotely close to it. Parking is limited to 30 minutes though, unless you park further up the street.
