"Welcome home!" "What? Oh. Oh, I get it. Thats kinda weird." My first thought, upon being greeted by the staff at HBB. And certainly not the last time I thought that, as my friend and I hung out for a bit, seeing other people come and go, being seen off with, "come home again!" Strange, no matter how many times I heard it, but that bubbly, exuberant behavior was demonstrative of one of the awesome things about HBB: the staff here is REALLY, REALLY nice. And genuinely so! Its not often that I call out service, but its also not every day that I just hang out for half an hour chatting with staff, especially when I really need to run. "But what about the drinks?!," you ask! "Fantastic!," I say! While I only tried a bit of my friends almond "milk" tea with boba, I can say that it was probably one of the best-cooked boba Ive had in recent recollection - granted, I havent ordered boba in a while, so... as for the tea itself, if youve ever tried almond tofu dessert, youll know exactly what it tasted like. I myself ordered one of their chocolate iced signature coffees, which was equally fabulous, and also insanely strong: so much so that my body actually was not too happy about the caffeine intake, but thats an unrelated matter. The drink itself was great, and very similar to a cold chocolate milk. Both drinks fell a little on the sweeter side, but not unbearably so. And, a key point is that they dont use real milk: their whole thing is dairy, gluten free, so their "milk" is actually made out of palm seed, I believe, and sweetened with raw and brown sugar. Worth a try! ***Accessibility Info*** Venue - Seating is a bit limited, with a single regular height long table. All the others were bar counter height, which is fine for holding your drinks, but not ideal if youre there to do some work (they have outlets), or chatting with someone who isnt eye level. Bathroom - Didnt check them out.

AMAZING Coffee/study spot. The -1 Star is just because of how difficult it is to find parking(metered parking is about $1.25/hour with a 2 hour limit, or nearby parking structures are about $2/hour with a $6/day maximum), and also the lack of bathrooms :(. I understand that it is a small space, and also King Taco just happens to be right next door so there ARE bathrooms nearby to use, but its just kind of a buzz kill and totally takes you out of the zone when you are trying to get some work done or catch up with some friends. Other than that, the drinks here are great, but what makes it truly a great coffee stop(especially after my recent 1 star reviews) is the service! The two workers here were both super amazing. They have a great attitude, are super into the whole "Welcome Home" theme without being too in your face, and are also literally MORE than happy to help you pick a drink and explain everything to you. I just felt really comfortable coming here even though it was my fist time and Im not the hugest coffee snob and I was also just finding somewhere to get some work done and not really looking to talk/socialize too much, but the workers here had that perfect balance of charisma that just kind of cheered up my day because they were so happy and welcoming and also let me feel comfortable that I wasnt trying to have a super long conversation and just trying to get some work done. PRO TIP: If you really are struggling with parking, go north one block to Holly Ave, there is a parking structure there that is a little bit(or possibly the same price now) cheaper but mostly empty.

Love Love Love this place! Came in for a quick caffeine fix and was greeted with "Welcome Home!" by a super nice and friendly staff member. The menu is simple but with many options to customize the exact drink you want. The friendly staff member (wish I remembered his name) was very patient with us and explained the menu to us and made flavoring recommendations based on what kind of drink we wanted (tea/coffee or hot/cold). They also offer different milk alternatives (all non dairy based) and add-ins like boba, aloe vera, chia seeds..etc. They also have their signature drinks, less thinking involved for those indecisive consumers (me). I ended up ordering a large hot jasmine green tea with vanilla flavoring (you can ask for lightly sweeten if you dont like your drinks too sweet, like me). My beau had a cold coffee with mexican spice flavoring and house milk. Both of our drinks were amazing!!! Loved it so much, we came back again the next day and this time I had the hot matcha tea with pistachio flavor and he had the cold matcha tea with vanilla mint flavor and house milk. Again, liquid refreshment craving satisfied! Youll be looking to spend about $5 per large beverage but its totally worth it! Super hipster place sandwiched between two mexican joints, communal seating with lots of random books to keep you occupied while sipping on your drink. Wish they had one of these closer to home but for now, well have to wait for special occasions when were around the area to drop in.

Came here for the first time yesterday after seeing it on Yelp. I got an Almond Vanilla Milk Tea with boba. Typically, Im not really into the whole customizing my own drink flavors, but I couldnt decide between getting the Almond Milk Tea or the Vanilla Milk Tea, so the barista suggested I could mix both. It turned out pretty good, a bit on the creamy side, but I dont mind too much. I didnt really like my friends Jade Green Tea, as it was too light and flavorless to me, but she seemed to enjoy it. Would come back if in the neighborhood.

I love the almond milk tea here. In fact, thats all ive had here so I cant comment on anything else they offer. All I can say is that they have shown to serve a quality product and are good doing it! I never go to coffee shops to work but I have noticed that this appears to be a great spot to do so. If that is what you like, know that this shop will support that. Bring your books, and laptop. Everyone here always appears to be right at home. SERVICE: Great, friendly service PARKING: Street (metered), parking garages

If youre looking for the perfect cup of coffee, look no further. The cold brew coffee here is fantastic, with that delicious coffee taste and no acidity that is what you look for in cold brewed coffee. The charming location near old town Pasadena is perfect if youd like to spend a fall afternoon walking around and window shopping with a cup of coffee. #fallforLA

This is a very cute hipster place that serves both boba and coffee. My favorite was the peach oolong milk tea boba -- not overly sweet or peachy. I also got the vanilla latte which reminded me of San Francisco hipster coffee bars. Overall, I was very happy with the experience, but just be prepared to pay a little bit more than your typical Asian places.
