I will never set foot in this place again!!! Ive come to this place for happy hour almost on a weekly basis. However today, I had the worst experience. I was humiliated and I received the worst service EVER by the little Latina Waitress with the big hair and ugly attitude. My boss and I showed up at 6:00 PM to take advantage of the $3.00 happy hour specials that end at 7 PM, we had just finished an audit so I suggested this place. We sat down at the couches and waited to be served. About 15 minutes later the waitress walked over and took our order. We waited what seemed like forever, which was strange because the place was not even packed...AT ALL. Finally another 15-20 minutes rolled around and she finally came with our drinks and she tried to walk away. I told the waitress that I wanted to place an order for appetizers and another round of drinks and that we would be ordering dinner immediately after. She shortly and rudely told my boss and I "I cant put in another order until you drink those first!!" I dont know what was up with this waitress, shes usually very nice. Today she had a chip on shoulder and was trying act like she owned the place. That upset me a bit and I told her "Listen, I would really like to take advantage of the happy hour prices before it ends. Unfortunately I hate to say but your service has been extremely slow today and the place isnt even busy." And theres no reason for you to talk to us that way. She just walked away and refused to order new drinks. I finally moved from the table to the bar and attempted to place the order myself. The bartender ignored us for a while and then she finally comes over and says that the waitress told her not serve us anymore and asked us to leave. I was shocked by the treatment I received. Never has this happened to me, and especially after only 1 drink. I asked to speak to the manager and the bartender Muriel told me that he was walking around somewhere. I asked the Muriel the bartender as to why the waitress didnt come over herself and ask me to leave. She responded saying that she didnt like confrontation and that she was embarrassed to have to do it for her. Finally the bartender points out the owner and I walk over to him. Before the waitress even told him anything, I went up to them and ask why I was being thrown out and why had I received such horrible service. I explained to the owner what happened and the waitress completely lied and said I had cussed at her and that i was very aggressive and that she was afraid of me. People!!!! I was with MY BOSS, that is NOT my character and I strictly gave her some constructive criticism AFTER she rudely refused to take our order for a second round. Who does that??!?!?! The owner says to me, " Look, shes almost crying, please go". Seriously?!?!? Did this happen?!?! He says Shes about to cry" THATS IT?! No discussion?! ( I wonder if I wouldve started crying if he wouldve let me stay HA!!!) So... he asked me to leave. Since when is it rude and aggressive for a paying patron whos been waiting 30 minutes for drinks, to let their server know that theyre not happy??!?!?!?! I went back inside and I got my coat, my boss came out to talk to owner and told him that his employee was lying and that his treatment of us was unacceptable for a business owner. The guy finally says, look lets go inside and talk about it. I told him absolutely not and to cancel my booked party of 20 for next month. He just looks at us and says...whatever bye!! All I can say is, KARMA!! Shell get hers and I wont have to do anything....but she will remember me when she gets the same treatment from someone else. And the owner??!?! What a douche! No management skills whatsoever!

Being a drunk that I am, I made sure to get my moneys worth of the bottomless mimosas during brunch at Equator. For only $10, you can choose from lychee, apple, or orange mimosas and there are several "premium" flavors you can select from for $5 additional. Once you pick your flavor though, you are committed to it because they wont let you change it around. I got the lychee and it was delicious. The apple and the orange was not very good at all. I saw other people drinking different premium flavors and they look pretty good, especially the blue one. They have a regular menu, which consists of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and a few American dishes. During brunch though, they have dim sum for $3 each. I liked the baked bbq pork buns and the shrimp shu mai. I didnt care for the other items much but the flavors were definitely authentic. They make each one to order so it does take some time to come out. Our waitress was so nice and patient. We were there for a long time and she didnt rush us. She was on top of bringing us everything we need and kept checking up on us. In fact, she kept the mimosas flowing to the point where we had to ask her to give us a little break because we couldnt drink it fast enough. The restaurant itself is hidden in the alleyway where Jakes and Three Dog Bakery is in Old Town. They do have a few outside seating. I would recommend parking at the structure on Green and Fair Oaks. Its 90 minutes free only though.

The Lowdown==- Thursday Happy Hour 4-close = $3 ALL well drinks. This place is still a 4 star from my recent trip last night with a group of about 10 Elites. I said I would try the Happy Hour Food and I did this time around. Its $3 for any of the 4 HH items on the menu. It was pretty depressing when we received them though. It was about less than 3 dollars worth of food that arrived on our plate. The only marginally OK deal was for the Gyoza but it was still only 4 pieces. Now that the neg is out of the way, let me tell you how awesome our Bartender Christopher was. Super customer oriented, friendly attitude. He was the lone guy at the bar the whole night, but was able to keep up with everyones drinks. Thats one super bartender you got there. He even remembered my name throughout the whole night...did not call me "RJ" once! We had a fairly large group, so when the back couch area cleared up, our group migrated that way. Still the seating wasnt enough. The owner of the Equator, Teddy, came by and offered to bring us chairs from the back so that everyone could have a place to sit. He continued to come by and made sure we were taken care of. Before he left for the night, he also made sure to say bye. Cool guy, cool owner!

For the price I paid to have a nice meal here, it wasnt really nice at all. I didnt get that fancy vibe, and the service wasnt that great. The server who came out with one of our dishes actually dropped the plate onto the floor right next to me, and he also cursed after that happened too. I understand it was an accident, but the staff never really did anything to make our experience better. For the same price, I can go to a pretty nice and classy restaurant. The reviews here were pretty misleading.
