This restaurant has sooo much potential especially given it is located in a veritable fine dining wasteland. The problem is consistency. As is true of many restaurants, not everything on the menu is done well which is not a huge issue given the market. However, you do expect those items done well to continue to be done well each and every time you visit...consistency. You also expect that those items done well stay on the menu, not so with Farwood Bar & Grill. I would love nothing more than to give this restaurant a 5 star rating, but just when you think they have turned the corner you end up having a disappointing sub-par experience. So, at the end of the day, if you are in the area give them a try and hopefully you will catch them on a good night because when they do do it right, they do it right. We will no doubt go back (I hate to write them off) and give them another try in the hopes that they will respond to constructive criticism and figure out the key to providing a consistent quality dining experience.

Have been quite a few times. This time came with another couple and my girlfriends food came out cold. She ask for it to be warmed up. Server said theyd prepare another steak. Unfortunately that took over a 1/2 hour and the rest of us had finished our meals. She had hers boxed up. She expressed her dissatisfaction and asked that hers be comped and we each receive dessert. Our server gladly did this. The food has always been great along with the service. Well go back and give them another try. Kitchen staff has to understand that when one meal comes back it needs to be taken care of immediately!

I have been 3 times and have been extremely disappointed everytime. It took 4 hours from start to finish the first experience the second experience was just under 3 hours. Today we got told that we didnt have reservations so we would have to sit outside in 100 degree weather when they only had a few people at the bar. Sorry Orland but you can do much better if you just drive to Chico to find real service and better food for a better price. It is actually kind of sad.

I love the ambiance: the dark wood; the elaborate arched carving above the bar; the echoing "rumble" of folks chatter enjoying visiting with one another; the friendly staff. The food...well thats another story: boring white bread with the meal; farmed salmon for $27.00 and charred-uncooked boy choy and stale pistachios accompanying it; uncooked veggies in the side of veggies; tiny serving of side of french fries. Never again.

Normally I love all the food at your restaurant but the last time I was there I order the Farwood burger but I substituted a chicken breast for the burger and all I got was half a chicken piece on my sandwich, that was not what I was expecting when I was substituted the chicken breast for the burger patty. Just one more suggestion have more options for desserts like more pies like maybe pecan pie, apple or Berry.

Im in this small town doing storm work for the power company. Weve been in Orland for a week and we are sitting down for dinner here for the 4th time (with one lunch in there as well). This place is top notch, class A. Outstanding food, friendly staff. Orland is very lucky to have this fine establishment. I would love to come back again for a visit. Honestly top 10 favorite restaurants Ive ever been.

We really love the decor in this restaurant. Very tasteful! While its theme has some history relating to an old gentlemens club, ladies love it too. The FOOD is excellent. We especially love their new addition of Poke Nachos. Its rare you can get such an excellent dish like this unless you are traveling to Hawaii. If you havent tried it yet, call and make a reservation soon. Delicious!

The food is very good. Customer is great. Can be very busy, reservations can be made in advance to ensure a table when you arrive. The only issue I had was with my water. The first glass had floaters in it, I requested a new glass. When I received my new glass, I found a piece of the paper wrap to a straw in it. I gave up and stuck to my beer the rest of my visit.

Farwood Bar & Grill is a gem in the middle of several rural communities. It may not be a 5-star restaurant by LA or NY standards, but its classy place with a nice variety of food expertly prepared, a beautiful old hardwood bar, an amazingly friendly atmosphere not found in the big cities, and owners who honestly care about their customers and the community.

A good restaurant with a few wrinkles. Great beer selection, good ahi poke nachos appetizer. We both had the rib eye steaks. My wifes rib eye was excellent, whereas mine was just average. They tout a rewards program built on referrals but I couldnt refer a friend or be referred since they had no rewards cards. I will give it one more shot possibly.

Its nice that Orland has an amazing restaurant like this. Its beautifully restored and the people are very nice. My husband and I have only been a couple times, but nothing has disappointed us yet. As other restaurants in the area become a let down with new ownership, I hope Farwood sticks around for a long time and keeps up the good work!

Farwood is consistently good! The menu offers several choices. For a light meal I really love the Farwood Salad with the raspberry viniagrette. My mom loves the onion rings. I also enjoy the balsamic martinis - so different and refreshing! I advise making reservations as they are always, deservedly, busy.

Farwood Bar and Grill is a great place to eat. The food is wonderful, the atmosphere is old style service and the bar will provide any type of drink you can imagine. Make sure you make a reservation though, as they are busy all the time and you dont want to miss out on the great food and drinks.

This restaurant is in a small town, Orland, and has a quaint atsmophere. But dont let that fool you, the food is just as yummy as restaurants found in big cities. The service is great and you will want to return. Its right off I-5 at the Chico off ramp. Easy off & easy back a few blocks.

The service was good, our waitress was very friendly and accommodating, and the food was very good! Everything tasted very fresh, and the prices were a little on the expensive side, but overall I was very happy with my experience! I would definitely stop here again.

New in town and decided to stop for a bite to eat after a long drive... we were definitely surprised to see such a nice little restaurant in the (no offense) middle of nowhere. Reminded us of our old home of Sacramento. We will definitely be returning every week.

Farwood by far is my favorite restaurant in the North Valley. The service and food are both the same, incredible! The staff is so helpful and the establishment is very well presented. We enjoy taking advantage of their rewards program too. Well be back...
