5/8/13 WHERES MAH BACON?! There might just be bacon-vodka at this place, but we dont know for sure. I probably would have given two-stars for our experience at the bar but the restaurant in the front may have great food and service and its all one yelp page. Myself and three others walked in through the restaurant and found ourselves at the bar in the back. Just what we were looking for! We sat for a few minutes and ended up just picking up the list of specials (there were 3 drinks on it) since we hadnt yet been even offered a menu. When we placed our order (Bloody Marys all around) one of us was holding the Specials Menu. It featured a Bacon Bloody Mary and we all wanted one. Long story short, we ended up all getting regular Bloody Marys. To be fair, we had not asked for Bacon, but all of us thought it was pretty obvious, since we hadnt even seen that they had a baconless one (no drink menus before ordering) and we were holding the Specials list in hand. It was halfway through the drink that we started talking about it. I remember saying Id ask the bartender how strong the bacon flavor was....if he came back our way. Service was slow and half-hearted. Our drinks were baconless. $7.25 for an average to small sized Bloody Mary. When we finally did ask about it and got the bad news, no attempt was made to make the situation better even though the bartender could tell we were all disappointed. Yes, it was partially our fault, but a miscommunication works two ways, and it wasnt our job to right the wrong. It was Luccas. I would say that in the bars Ive previously worked at, most managers (and all owners) want the clients to leave happy. While you cant make everyone happy, it doesnt take much to make bar patrons happy. Had I been bartending, I would have offered a small taste (half shot) of the bacon vodka we all missed out on. It wouldnt cost the place much and would have given us what we had ultimately hoped to try.

I have eaten at Lucca B&G on seven occasions trying to make up my mind on how I felt about their menu. What I think is great: The Baked Poppers Wrapped in Bacon- A great dish with excellent heat, coupled with the bacon’s saltiness to comprise an excellent dish. The Grilled Portobello Mushroom Sandwich- (Stuffed in a toasted baguette with sliced roma tomatoes, basil, mixed greens, mozzarella cheese and garlic aioli.) The flavors blend together incredibly well. I’ve now ordered it three times. It is a perfect sandwich. What I think is worth eating if you are not in the mood for the items above: The Cobb Salad- was good, but not remarkable. The Teriyaki Wings- were good with a beer, but nothing special. The Meatloaf- An average meatloaf with bacon around it to make it slightly more interesting. What I would not order again: Fish and Chips- The fish batter coating was a total soggy mess. The flavor of the fish was off. Pulled Pork Sandwich - The caramelized onions were not anything close to caramelized. The pulled pork itself was pretty good. The Fish Tacos- It was in the bottom 10% of all the fish tacos I’ve ever eaten.

Terrible Service! We were a party of four looking for a couple drinks and a bite to eat so we decided to try Luccas. The burgers were good, but the table service was lousy. Once we finished our food and had one drink each, the waiter came by with the check. But we were NOT finished!!!!! We had to flag him down for another round. Then, without asking or saying we could take our time he came back with the check again. We were finishing our second round and he came by and told us to pay the check REALLY RUDE!!! It was clear that we were not welcome to sit at the table and enjoy our drinks. It was not a comfortable environment and I will be taking my business elsewhere. Lucca needs to step it up. They are just not cutting it. They could have made more money on us if we had felt welcome there.

Lucca has very good, consistent food. Service is also very good. We love to sit outside on days / evenings in nice weather. The problem for us dining within the restaurant is the noise level when its busy. The sound of guests talking really bounces off the walls, floor, and ceiling where its difficult to hear whats being said at our own table. It would be great if sound proofing could be added to the ceiling. Then we could dine at Lucca during the winter as well. Lucca is one of our favorite restaurants in Benicia.

Food was very good but service was extremely lacking. Went in with a group of co-workers, six total, and we had empty cups constantly. We had to ask for our waiter to take our order 3 times with about a 5-10 min delay between each one. Maybe you would think it was because it was busy, but it was after the noon rush, and there was no one inside. Many people were outside, but the waiters had to pass our table every time they left. I really havent had this bad of service in a long time. Sad because the food is good.

Great little store. Adobe is not your regular thrift shop. They have very nice antiques and classic pieces. Mostly furniture and decorations. The shop keepers are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They open until 9pm. Stop by when strolling downtown Benicia, you not only may find something unique, youll also be supporting a great cause. Adobe helps people struggling with addictions to get back on their feet and be responsible members of the society. Theyve been doing this for many many years.

This restaurant was recommended to me by locals and by Yelp. I cant say enough for the great service I received and the amazing food. If youre ever in Benicia this is definitely the place to stop in and eat. Definitely try the lamb sliders as they are just absolutely amazing! Try a plate of the pan seared olives, I fell in love with them. The waitresses are extremely friendly and its always nice to see them interact with the locals because that tells you what kind of a place youre in.

The service on my visit... excellent. Very attentive and effective service. It really made my dining experience memorable. The food was flavorful, cooked well, and hot when it got to my table. A big plus. If you sit inside, in the front dining room during the day when the sun is out, the light pours into the room and kind of blinds you. So if you go to get some of that great food and service, do yourself a favor and sit outside or in the rear dining area.

Nice place to have lunch, food was well presented and very tasteful, just a little bit overprized, but if you have time to go without rush and spend one hour or so... I recomend this place for a relaxed sunny day and sit outside. We tried the Korean Style Pork Belly Tacos as an appetizer along with the Fish & Chips and the Chicken Under a Brick and everything had great flavor.

Strolled into this awesome establishment with my Uncle Tyler. Excellent bloody Mary. Also, had an excellent suggestion of a lemon drop with raspberry shooter. Super refreshing and delicious. Extremely friendly staff and excellent service !! I second the man who mentioned the great atmosphere, as well!! It is classic, upscale and homey all at the sane time ❤
