I had high expectations for this restaurant but I will not be back nor will I recommend it to anyone. I always stay at the Bellevue Westin on shopping trips to Seattle. On this occasion it was my friends birthday and we wanted to go for dinner at a nice restaurant. After some research and reading reviews we booked a reservation before our trip. Things went wrong the minute we walked in the door. The restaurant has segregated seating: the front part of the restaurant is where "the beautiful people" get seated. The front area was seated with lively with young locals and business smarts. If you are older or obviously a tourist you get whisked right to the back area even though there is room in the front. Dont be fooled by the photos of the cool interior, there is an area in the back for the not so glamorous who doesnt fit the image they try to portray on the website. My friend ordered crab cakes and I ordered the rack of lamb. The tarragon sauce on the crab cakes was plopped on excessively as though someone hit the bottom of the bottle a little too hard so it came flying across the plate. The lamb was a huge disappointment; while it was tender, it was completely flavourless. They must have run out of salt and pepper so also didnt bother with any spice, herb, or mint. The food was also lukewarm at best. It was unbearable and we were only too glad to have ordered one glass of wine instead of a bottle. Needless to say we left as quickly as possible to go somewhere else for more wine and dessert.

My husband and I came here on a date night and were not impressed. We had reservations so we were sat promptly. It took our server a long time to notice us (which was fine because we were ok relaxing and hanging out). When she finally noticed us she greeted us with a tray full of drinks for another table so she quickly said hi and took our drink order and app order while she was on the run. My husband got a TERRIBLY made old fashioned (which we sent back for something else). Our appetizer was long gone before our server remembered to come back to take our order, to which she AGAIN had a full tray, of food this time, when she took our order. After our food came, it was gone before our server came back to check on us. It was just a bummer that we were an afterthought to her and she was always busy doing something else while taking care of us. I understand that service can be hit or miss So no one should judge a restaurant solely on their servers. We got the most incredible appetizer (truffled mushrooms!!), my husband got a steak that was good, I got the short rib that was just ok. I give Pearl a one star for this experience alone- I think Id be willing to give it another shot in the future. -also, very minor but.. they should consider dimming their dining room lights more. It was so bright in there at 8pm, I felt like I was in a cafeteria!

One of the best kept secrets in Bellevue! My husband took me to the Pearl for the 1st time last night for my birthday. It was not at all noisy like Ive seen some people say. We arrived at 8:30 PM; the hostess was friendly and let us know they made sure they had the salmon reserved for us for my birthday, a special touch! She gave us a choice of table or booth so we chose a booth which was comfortable, private and romantic. The food was expertly prepared, not overcooked and artistically served. Being an artist and coming from a Dad who owned a successful restaurant for 24 years, this means a lot! The decor is trendy and clean and great for private dining, romantic or special occasions. The birthday dessert was awesome! Served on a beautiful, free-form glass plate, Bradley and his staff made me feel so special! Our waitress, Laura Held was one of the fine jewels of this restaurant! She helped make my celebration all the more special. My hats off to Bradley Dickinson, Mikel Rogers and staff at the Pearl! Looking forward to returning soon!

Went here on New years Eve at around 10pm. Was served my mojito in a plastic cup...Minus right there. The mojito was fuschia. Mojitos are not fuschia colored normally. Apparently the house mojito was a dragon fruit mojito. At first taste it tasted like a childs koolaid. Fortunately they were able to replace it with a classic mojito which was great service. The second mojito didnt taste much better however. It lacked the fresh taste of limes and mint and felt weighed down by syrup. Also a thing to mention is that this bar is well suited for older generations and not a great place to meet young people. Additionally, my boyfriend was charged $2 extra for the house martini he ordered. Fortunately they were able to change the price. :) Overall Id say, great service albeit some mistakes but not so awesome tasting drinks.

My co-workers from Expedia were bragging about Pearl so I decided to try it for lunch. I ordered Ginger Beef Salad and it was the worse salad entry Ive tried in the long time. Instead of crisp green they presented me with shredded cabbage with red peppers. The beef was really disgusting and did not taste fresh so I had to ask to substitute with grilled chicken. The waiter did not take my plate but rather brought tiny pieces of grilled chicken later on which was not any better than beef. Our server brought a desert menu but never came back to take our order so we left without trying it. My water glass had lipstick on it and I had to replacement for long time. Overall I dont recommend this place. It is overpriced place and has a really poor service.

My husband and I dined with some other couples this past Sunday. My husband like the slow as molasses service because it gave us all a chance to visit. It was extremely good food, but the waiter was full of excuses, have to wait for the bar, have to wait for manager for wine key, have to wait for one more dish to come up. Our waiter with another one and a manager were having a wine tasting while we were waiting for our food!!! Do it before opening or out of sight of hungry customers. The waiter became very sullen when we voiced our displeasure. The good food is not worth the lack of professionalism.

Vanilla Star martini is by far the best drink I have ever had... I say this b/c I dont seem to tire of it, with its heavenly vanilla essence and a single, slightly crushed Star Anise... It transports me to paradise every time! I cant tell you how many times Ive recommended it to men and women, only for them to love it too! No longer on the menu, just ask for it by name. Additionally, the Tuna Tartare is outstanding, fresh and well priced esp. @ HH. Just ask for no salt, otherwise its too salty. Great bartendars, especially my favorite "Chris". Always a smile and great personality.
