Everyones right.. its NORMS... But DEISHA... Watch out for her!!! I had to write this for this has to be THE WORST SERVICE i has yet to experience to date... not just at this Nroms establishment, but out of everywhere Ive ever eaten. I normally get out of work late, sometimes I feel like ordering some food. I absolutely LOVE the club sandwiches you have at Norms as I always order them! Today I called in to place an order for pick up. It was around 1:30am. This is not an abnormal phone call for I have placed many to-go orders from this specific location. I also work late.. so Norms is just easy. I called in and a woman answered, I stated that I wanted to place a to-go order, She then replied, "you will have to come in to place the order". I thought to myself, "Wow, they must be really busy... but no matter how busy they are, they cant take a to-go order?" I went in to the locations off North Tustin and Katella to find that there were only 2 tables in the entire restaurant. I waited for the only server who was there to come up to me, Her name is Deisha P, as it stated on my receipt. I asked her why she wouldnt take a to-go order if she had only had two tables.. she stated "we dont take to-go orders after midnight" I then said, "thats funny, because every time I have called, at least once a week to place a to-go order, they have never told me that". Anyway, there was banter back and forth as she was completely unsympathetic to my needs or concerns or the lack of any sort of descent customer service. I waited for my meal to be prepared while she helped other guests check out on a computer that was not taking credit cards. This part seems to be important. After she gave me my food all packed up, she asked if I way paying with my card. I said "No", I put the cash on the counter and left. (I left 11 dollars, The Bill was 8.63)... she didnt deserve any tip if you ask me... the only tip she needed was someone to remind her to remove the stick from her rear end. I leave Norms nd some woman comes running after me, flipping me off and mouthing something. It was some girl in the booth behind me. I stopped the car, rolled down my window and heard her reciting out loud my license plate...I am guessing Deisha told them that I shorted her. The chick ran back in saying my plate numbers out loud ( i have a vanity plate) Anyway, like I said, I never expect much when I go to Norms when it comes to customer service... Deisha clearly proved me right by not only being rude and not taking my order over the phone ... but clearly she tells people that I dont pay my bills and has them run after me... maybe send the hot guy the chick was with to run after me... Deisha really needs to be talked to and given some training on what GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE IS because right down the road there is an iHOP and a Dennys. I would rather go there and not deal with terrible norms employees and suffice with not so good food. *** Dont Sit with DEISHA.. that girl cray! ***

Update: Norms is now behaving like a "national chain." Staff now working off script with the annoying constant up sell. Specials on popular combinations are gone resulting in slightly higher overall prices. (Still a good value) We joked Norms had hired a "consultant" our last few visits because of the subtle change in atmosphere. The last time was laughable. Our waitress was taking an order for a large party next to us. My wife says "listen." The poor waitress had to answer nearly every request or question with an up sell. It was ridiculous. Once she got passed the script she was her normal friendly self. I "Googled" and confirmed the Roybark family sold the business. Well miss the old Norms sincere and friendly service and will probably only eat there as a last resort in the future. Original review: Traditional diner menu, our benchmark for value based food. Norms has a friendly low key atmosphere and many of the employees have worked here for years. The burgers and patty melts are better than many of the "high end" chains. Quantities on the dinners are pretty big and include soup, salad, and potato. Norms is honest casual dining without all the fuss and over rehearsed staff typical in national chains. No gimmicks or aggressive up selling. Good food and service at a fair price...and they never close.

NOT ALL NORMS ARE CREATED EQUAL! EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE 0 STARS I ordered lunch from this establishment and when I went to go pick it up I was told it wasnt made they didnt have any beef for me dish... I was told a 20 minute wait time so I showed up 25 minutes later. I was never called to have that explained to me and now because of poor phone service by Angela not taking all my information down I do not get to eat at all today until I get home at 9 tonight. I get a very short lunch break and depended on this preordered food to at least be near ready. They completely dropped the ball here I wouldnt be so upset if I hadnt been told sorry and that was it. I was not offered any compensation for possibly having to wait another 20 minutes and being late to work, or even a SIMPLE PHONE CALL! She was the LEAST bit helpful in the situation and acted like nothing was wrong. When I asked her if there was anything else we could do she said no!? This is a true shame because I eat at my home norms all the time and the service is outstanding in huntington beach. I am absolutely infuriated because now I literally cannot leave my work and will not eat for a total of 13 hours today

I was pulled to eat here by some friends and was sort of dreading it due to the lower than Dennys standards Ive always assumed it had. To my surprise this particular location was very nice. the inside looked like a nice middle class restaurant not an off the freeway dive. The food was very good, it was served fresh and their was plenty of it. I dont think the food here is that healthy for you, but if your coming to a place like norms and Dennys I dont think your looking for healthy anyway. The food here has a home-style approach which i prefer to Dennys "cookie-cutter" every meal looks the same approach. Its great for a good meal that feels you up and has flavor. As for the service this particular time is was slightly poor because the place was extremely busy and our waiter was being trained other than that any other time Ive been the service has always been fast and friendly

Best waitress service in any restaurant in Orange County. Britney is so happy go lucky and so knowledgeable of Norms menu. She is the best. Dont forget to tip her well for the great service, as she is expecting a newborn boy soon. Lets all give a little help. The food was good and the service is great. They walked around handing out a rose to all the Mothers today for Mothers day. I ask and was told by a waitress that there Manager did this himself. What a nice touch. She went on to say that he is a really good manager and cares about his staff and customers. That is really good as most waitresses do not have anything good to say. I added the New York Cheese Cake to my meal for only $1,99 more. Best deal I had today. I really like the Garlic Fries. Will be eating here again.
