My wife and I stopped by this afternoon. The wife ordered a savory crepe and I had a cheeseburger. When the crepe arrived it was soggy, and my hamburger was greasy and tasteless. She sent her crepe back to be re-made, and they did a better job on the second attempt. I wish I had sent the burger back because it was clearly pulled right off the grill covered in grease and flopped straight onto a bun that soaked up so much grease that it was practically falling apart. Unfortunately, I was starving and so just scraped off the bread-- yes, scraped off because it was so greasy it was a sopping mess-- and ate half of the remaining tasteless meat that needed ketchup for any kind of flavor. We both had french fries and those too werent drained at all and were dripping with grease. What a waste of $25. For these prices, and at this location, youd think theyd do better than Dennys-level greasy diner quality at 2x the price. Im only giving two stars because I recall several weeks back stopping by, trying their Spanish omelet and I found it fairly good at the time, so I thought Id bring the wife here today. Now since it seems the food is really hit-or-miss between fair to awful, we wont be taking a chance by coming back... theres too many other really good (and consistently good) food choices on Castro.

Mountain View is not exactly a mecca of great food but this place has been decent enough to return to twice on one trip. It is definitely very crowded and noisy, but they seem ruthlessly efficient and so cover turnover is high. Unlike other reviewers I quite like the seating process - you stand in line with your menu, pick and pay for your food and then they help find you table and bring you food and drinks. It means there is no seeking someone out to pay the cheque, although if you are missing something or in need of a top up then you might be out of luck. The food is decent enough, although nothing special and the portions are ridiclous. The blueberry oatmeal pancake was probably the highlight of my first visit (we asked for one pancake as a stack of three was huge), although the Huevos Rancheros were good too. I liked the fries that came with my club sandwich on the second trip but the rest of the dish was a little boring and tasteless. Given the limited choices in Mountain View, and in light of the late opening hours, I would definitely return to Crepevine, with a serious appetite so as to tackle the big portions perhaps.

FOOD POISONING! My friend and I went here on Feb 9, 2016. We had been here once before and came for the large portions. Well, this was a big mistake. I ate an order of onion rings, a glass of milk, ketchup, and the onion ring sauce. My friend ordered a sweet crepe with chocolate, bananas, and strawberries. Within about 2 hours of eating the food it started to hit us both. My friend and I decided to call it a night and head home. I spent the next 24hrs stumbling my way between my bed and the bathroom. I had all of the classic symptoms of acute food poisoning : abdomen pain, cramps, diarrhea, vomiting, chills, dehydration, dizziness, fatigue, fever, lightheadedness, loss of appetite, malaise, and a cold sweat. My friend reported to me via text that he had come down with similar symptoms (though mine were more severe, as his ended the same evening). Right now its been 24hrs since this ordeal started, and I feel better but not great, I just hope it ends soon. Lets just say if youre in the mood for a crepe (or a bunch of onion rings) theyre going to cost you a lot more than $12.95.

I was recently given a $50 gift card to Crepevine, so my girlfriend and I went there for dinner recently. We ordered a steak sandwich and a garden burger, and when I tried to pay with my gift card, I was told that it had expired (I was given it 3 weeks ago). I paid with my credit card, and sat down at a table outside. 2 minutes later, the man working the cash register walked to the table and said he had used the wrong machine during the transaction, and asked for my gift card. He disappeared for a bit and came back to let us know that it had $50 on it... Thanks. Food was average, not great. And the restaurant didnt offer anything to make the situation right. Will only go back to use my (still full) gift card, but otherwise, wont go back again. There are MUCH better dinner places on Castro Street, in the same price range. Avoid this place.

Came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning because our favorite brunch place in Mountain View, Country Gourmet, closed permanently. We ordered a Jamaican crepe (sweet) and a California crepe (savory). We both liked the Jamaican crepe a lot. It wasnt too stickily sweet. It was a bit messy to eat because of the caramel and ice cream. But it tasted really good. Their crepes are nice and soft but not soggy. The savory California crepe - my husband liked it. I thought it was OK. Somehow to me the filling and the crepe seemed not to work together well to me. I felt the filling itself was good. And the crepe skin was good. But overall, the food quality is pretty good. The drawback is the crowd. And the noises it created. People seemed to be tense without knowing it just because the noise level is so high.

Poor service, OK breakfast, and location too small and easily crowded. A few co-workers and I put a to go order in for breakfast, and we were given an order number. Even though they gave us a number to set on a table, one of us had to maneuver our way through a crowded line of people to pick up our order. I enjoyed my Denver Omelet, but the potatoes that came with it were more like potatoes you would eat with a dinner meal. Additionally, they were pretty undercooked. I would have preferred a fried potatoes option too. Lastly, I ordered and paid for some fruit to go along with my French Toast, but the fruit was missing from our order. Unfortunately, we were already back at work before we noticed this small detail.

1st time in we ordered a Blackstone benediction, Santa-fe omelet and I ordered the Philly crepe. What can I say except, look at my pictures and eat with your eyes! All our food was good 3.7 stars. I ordered the regular french fries by mistake...let me tell you those fries are right up there with the best Ive ever had 5.9 stars. Best mistake I ever made C: They have a big menu so I felt rushed as I waited in line to order our food 2 stars. The servers were great and a tentative. They went as far as saving a table for us and asked us more that 2 times if we wanted to sit inside or if we were ok sitting outside with the heaters 5.9 stars. Overall the restaurant is very nice, inside and out. 4 stars total experience.

Pros: All day breakfast, whats not to like. Crepes, Omelettes, good selection of tea/coffee etc. I love their potatoes, nicely seasoned. Egg and Toast is basic, nothing to write home about. Service was great, food arrived promptly. Cons: Crowded on weekends, today the queue extended from the cashiers desk in the restaurant to the street. If youre looking for peace and quiet, and to make conversation over coffee, this isnt the best place. Also, there are two tables in the outside seating area where the sun is really in your face; it got so bad that we left without finishing our meal. I dont know if inside seating is preferable - it gets noisy. Bottom-line - its fine to try out now and then. I wouldnt be a regular.
