They dont care about customers at all. First they took 15 minutes just to take the order. After that they took the order and then even after 40 minutes, order didnt arrive. There were not that many people only 15-20 people. Later we decided to leave after waiting for almost 1 hour. Then the lady at count enquired and found out that waitresses had lost the paper on which she took our order. We were sitting there for long time waiting for food. But no waitress didnt bother to take the order again if they didnt have any order from us or let us know how much more time it might take. Looked at us many times and ignored. Do check Yelp reviews before visiting this place.

Awful. Chocolate crepes has the smell and taste of ham or some savory food and they just add the chocolate. It was gross. The 14 dollar waffle was one of the smallest and flattest waffle and they springles coconut on top whereas the menu said it is also in the batter. It came with no butter and so the whole time I was eating hoping the waitress come by so I can get some butter. No service and there was only 10 people in the restaurant on a Saturday 11am. It is ashame to have such a terrible restaurant in the heart of downtown Los altos.

I kind of like this place, but not without reservation, and can see how you might not. Theres a good variety of pancakes trending heavily towards the extremely sweet. If you want to really shock your system, get the giant baked apple thing (a dutch baby?) that looks like deep dish candied fruit pizza, and wash it down with lots of coffee. In my mind, this is pretty much what a pancake house is supposed to be. I rarely want to go here, but once in a while it seems to fill some urge. It can get pretty loud with all the sugared-up kids.

Yes, it is somewhat expensive - you can end up with about $15 a head, but you arent really looking for IHOP are you? And dont go here if you arent hungry, the portions are big. Especially the apple pancake and dutch baby - roughly the size of your head. But they are really really good. Parking is a little annoying on a weekend, but if you roll around the nearby streets and are willing to walk half a block, youll have no trouble. Highly recommended every once in awhile. Got to try the clam pancakes some time.

Had breakfast here today with a big group of friends. While the decor does seem a little tatty the service was friendly and mostly efficient and they were very accommodating about the kids in our party (in fact there were a lot of kids there!). The food was simple and tasty, although my heart sank at the overly generous portions (who eats that much? !) and I must admit the two house specials I tried - The Dutch Baby and the Apple Pancake were excellent.

I always enjoy the food at The Original Pancake House and sought out this location when working in the valley recently. However, I wont return to this location because I cant justify $20 (tip included) for ham & eggs, pancakes, tea and orange juice, tasty though they were. At $12 for the same meal this would be a four or five star breakfast. + 2 stars for the food, - 2 stars for the price = Average

The staff they are incredible. Nice, couldnt be nicer. The woman who owns the place is such a sweetheart. Im just in love with this place. Its like a extension of my family. There beautiful people........ The food and service impeccable. Im sorry I have no negative experiences to comment on. Ive lived here for 70 years my father was born in Los Altos we are not strangers. I give them 10 stars......

Good basic pancake House. Now average tab per person is about $16. Its getting expensive. Very busy on the weekend. My favorite is baked omelatte, but be warned that it takes a long time to bake. My cousin loves the potato pancakes. Be sure to try them. Yes, its true that the owner may seems rude, but she is not always like that. When you get to know her she is actually very nice.

While the decor doesnt do much for this place compared to other brunch spots, the food is quite good. Some of my favorites include the strawberry waffles, potato pancakes, and general omelet selection. Their omelets are unique in that they bake them, making them fluffy and soft. And if you have the time to wait, the Dutch baby is lemon-y goodness.

If I could give it negative stars, I would. $7 for a sliced banana with whipped cream! Really! Decor stinks, service is worse and parking is very limited (whats new in Los Altos though). I think the name derives from the original pancakes they still serve that were made the day the place first opened--caveat emptor.

This is a no-frills pancake place, but it costs just as much as a higher end brunch joint. No cute orange slices or house salads come with any of the pancake plates. I appreciate the low-key family friendly locally run and owned aesthetic, but in the end Id rather go somewhere else for brunch.

Great choice of pancakes. The place inside looks a bit outdates. The price is slightly expensive too, though the portions are massive, for European standards (of course). I personally love the dutch pancake, totally recommend it!

This place used to be great, but the service and food has gone to the crapper. The orange juice is almost $5 now and its undrinkable. 49er flapjacks are the thing to order, but I just go for the good memories I used to have here.

Some great dishes like the dutch baby and apple pancake - these are huge and very tasty. Meals basically cost $12 no matter what you get, which is unfortunate if you just want eggs and toast. The decor is a little run down.

Perhaps its because its labor day and the regular cook isnt here, but the hash browns are just barely cooked and not properly browned, and some of our pancakes are similarly not fully cooked in the center. Disappointing.

This restaurant has never failed to please me. I love the fresh fruit crepe and always have to remember that it takes time to make a dutch baby or Apple pancake...so shouldnt order it if you come in close to closing.

Rude owner. Poor service. Overpriced. Dirty. Ordered tacos $15 for chicken on tortillas with salsa. So disappointing. Not to mention the place smelled like the sewer system was backed up. Dont even bother.

A cool place to satisfy your breakfast cravings in Los Altos. Looking for somewhere to get decent potato pancakes, I wasnt disappointed. The fajitas were also good - get them with jalapenos.

A Los Altos landmark. Delicious, fresh breakfast menu. Decor is a tad run-down, but dressed up a bit with paintings and other artwork (by family or local artists?). Service is good.

Awesome, all kinds of pancakes, Dutch Apple, Swedish Pancakes. There is an outdoor patio. Wait isnt as long as it used to be, we just walked in a Saturday morning recently.

The prices are quite high, the selection limited, and the food only average. Best thing about the place is its lack of wait on a Sunday morning. No kids menu either.
