I come here quite often and never had an issue until I decided to come earlier. At dinner time. (I usually come at like 8-10pm). It wasnt busy at all. And being that Im waiting on a friend to join, I decided to ask for a booth or table since the bar was full. The lady tried to put me at a double booth.... one large booth with two table connected... half the booth was in use... so it was immediately awkward... being that its like joining everyone. I asked for a booth thats not connected to a group and she said being that its just me, I have to sit there. And the other booths are for groups of two or more. Which makes no sense... she tried putting me at a full table, in a double booth with another table connected to mine... so either way Ill be taking a full table to myself. Even though I mentioned Im having someone come. She continued to argue ! I said I just want a table. And that her explanation has no grounds. She basically throws my menu at the table I wanted and stormed off... didnt get any help for a while until I appeared to get tired of waiting and was getting up. This was ridiculous!

What a great restaurant for happy hour, 2pm to 6pm. Upon arrival, the outer appearance of the building looks a bit run-down. However, dont judge a book by its cover! Inside is a cute "boat" theme type restaurant. Theres no "waiting" area so hopefully youre able to get seated quickly like I did. Pretty much ordered only from the happy hour menu. My favorites included the bay shrimp cerviche (ample shrimp, flavorful, and fresh), lobster mac & cheese (cheesy, fair # of lobster pieces, but wish the pasta itself wasnt penne b/c just felt odd for mac & cheese entree), and oysters (fresh and tasty). The coconut shrimp was ok, the batter was bit too thick and oily, so it was difficult for me to taste the shrimp. Coconut shavings were mixed into the batter. Street and meter parking available or theres a small mini structure across the street at the corner of Rosecran and Highland with meters at each stall. Service was good. The atmosphere of the place is intimate but casual. It wasnt too loud so I can actually have a conversation!

I am so HAPPY! this place came to my city. FISHBAR has become my favorite restaurant for a variety of reasons. On a broad sense its quality and consistency is everything you could want from a fresh seafood house. The menu is balanced enough with a variety of different items that allow me to come back multiple times a week without having the same thing two times in a row. From the blackened Halibut to the Lobster tacos, Veggie Burger and more theres always something that hits the spot. Oh ya almost forgot...The CLAM CHOWDER! is AMAZING! The decor is a million times better than Sharkeez. It feels like your on a beach vacation. The vibe and character represents the South Bay in a nutshell. It also helps that the staff is friendly and always prompt and helpful. As you can tell this place is my favorite. It also doesnt take a chunk out of my wallet like other over priced seafood places around. I LOVE you FISHBAR! Thank you for coming to MB!

Ive dined at Fish Bar numerous times and Ive been happy that the food and the service has been extremely consistent. Chef Jessica Jordan shows her experience by making classic dishes such as Oysters Rockefeller and Shrimp Scampi. She also shows her talent by making dishes such as Peruvian ceviche and chipotle calamari. The vibe in the restaurant is always lively and the locals frequent here regularly. This is one of those restaurants that most thrive on word of mouth. Its been interesting and fun to watch friends of friends just learn of this place and watch their enthusiasm for both the quality and the value. Fish Bar keeps it interesting by having daily specials. Shrimp Shack Monday and Taco Tuesday are just two examples of this. Must try items include the clam chowder and the salmon chowder. Both are excellent. Happy Hour is Mon-Fri from 2:00 - 6:00pm

I tend to make my way here anytime Im going or coming from LAX as its conveniently close to Manhattan Beach Pier as well as the only place I know of in LA area that serves Manhattan Clam Chowder my BF is from Jersey and thats his favorite and hard to find on the west coast. I really really really love their Mussels and Clams in Marinara sauce. Their marinara sauce is amazing and full of flavor. I will add that their NE Clam Chowder isnt the best but isnt the worse Ive had. It tends to be sweet and Im going to assume its the large amounts of celery used If it wasnt so sweet I could give it 5 stars. I went on 6/25/17 and my BF and I ordered the mussels and Clams in marinara sauce and I had NE Clam Chowder he had Manhattan Chowder. It was different this time both of ours appeared to have a lot of Pepper added to it.

Super busy seafood spot on Saturday. They said it would be 90-120 minute wait for a party of 5 at 7PM. They managed to get a small booth for us within 45 minutes, which was nice! I had the Manhattan Clam Chowder. Its tomato-based instead of cream-based like the New England Clam Chowder. It was very tomatoey and chunky, I wasnt too big of a fan. I also had the shrimp ceviche and that was ok; not fantastic but I finished it. The 38th street julep was too sweet for me. Everything seemed really unhealthy, which was why I ended up ordering some appetizers instead of their main entrees. Overall, not a return spot for me.

Fishbar was a welcome surprise to an old location. There used to be a sports bar here and they have created an interesting hybrid restaurant out of it. I love watching a little football whenever I can (Go Chargers) and it was a welcome treat to actually be able to get a decent meal while watching a Chargers pre-season game. How many places can you get a gourmet level salmon dish for under $15 and watch your game. We also had the coconut shrimp which was the perfect appetizer. They had a chocolate port there for dessert which Ive never even heard of. All in all 5 plus stars!!

Fishbar was a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere is fun, laid back, and family friendly. There are over a dozen large TVs to enjoy sports on, and the restaurant has a seafood/pub feel that puts you at ease and is the perfect place to relax. The food was also much better than I expected! I usually am not a huge fan of pub food. We ordered the below - - Manhattan clam chowder - Idaho Trout (original seasoned) - Lobster Mac and Cheese - Brussels Sprouts Everything was pretty good, especially the Lobster Mac and Cheese and Brussels Sprout. Ill definitely be back here again!

This place is beyond amazing! Im from Baltimore, MD, so crabs are a huge deal for me. We had the crab queso and omg I could have ordered more. We had the filet minion, mashed potatoes and broccoli... unreal how great tasting this was. The steak melted in my mouth like no other has before. The mash potatoes were so smooth and buttery. We also had the fried shrimp, which was also GREAT! I would recommend this place to anyone. The only downfall is seating.. we had people directly next to us, but other than that.. not a single complaint!
