What makes this place stand out from the others is the service. It was impeccable and from the second you walk in the door you notice it. They pay attention to their customers and make you feel like they really are happy to serve you. The location, the food and amazing service what more could you ask for. I will definitely be back. We went there to celebrate my wifes birthday so we arrived around 8 pm, 30 minutes earlier than our reserved time. The hostess recommended we hang around the bar until it was time so we did. At around 8:20 pm one of the hostesses came and found us and pretty much let us pick the location of our table even though the restaurant was full. We selected a table close to a window and unfortunately it was a little too cold. I handed my wife my jacket and a few seconds later the manager shows up with 2 blankets for us to use which was nice. A few seconds after that one of the hostesses came over to switch out the napkins from white to black. Its the first time that has ever happened to us in this country and its one of those things that doesnt really seem like a big deal but it does make a difference. Our waitress was the icing on the cake. when I made the reservations they asked for any special details and I said that it was my wifes birthday. When the check came we noticed that the waitress took $9.00 off our bill she also brought us a cake. AWESOME!!!!!! We will be back again and I have already told all my friends about it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. oh yah the food was great too!!!!!

I came for dinner with a group of friends, so there were 5 of us at the table. Id been here twice before, and had a great dining experience each time. I love that the decor of the restaurant gives the feel of a classic, elegant dinner house. Our waitress Lindsey was very knowledgable about the menu, and made some great recommendations. Plus, she was always around to checkup on us and make sure that we had everything we needed. We started by sharing some appetizers. First was the Frito Misto, which is like a deep-fried sampler plate, complete with fried calamari, fried zucchini, fried shrimp, fried clams, and fried cod. Over all it was a good, but I was surprised to see that they do not offer calamari alone as an appetizer. We also ordered the Uni Toast, which Ive had before. It was as delicious as I remember. For entrees, I ordered the traditional Lobster Roll -- you can get it served hot or cold, I prefer cold. The parker roll comes stuffed with huge chunks of delicious lobster. This is my favorite dish to order here. Others at the table ordered the Mussels, which were very good, and the Sea Bass, which was also pretty amazing. Overall this was a great meal, and this place is my favorite seafood restaurant in the area now.

...excelente

A very comfortable atmosphere, has an antique restaurant almost ship type of feel to it. Has retractable windows to let the sea breeze in. Service is great but could be a tad bit better. For some reason, the waitress exchanged the napkins of my family members with a different color as if they were selectively profiling them. Just a hunch, no solid evidence. Food is fresh and delicious. Their complimentary bread is wonderful, a bit salty but the butter balances it out. Price is, however, a bit overpriced like $9 for a mac-n-cheese is crazy, but nevertheless, I think it is worth it. I did notice that I didnt get any of the great service from the waiter like the other reviews got, maybe it was because me and my company were Asians because I noticed that the other Asian family sitting a table away also didnt get any waiters coming. **Also, our table and the other Asian table didnt get a designated waiter like the other tables.

My wife and I decided to go to Water Grill Santa Monica for a really special evening out celebrating our wedding anniversary, an upcoming move, and our 3 month old son! This was an extremely special treat for us, and we could not have been more thrilled with our experience. Our waiter, Nick, was absolutely wonderful. Personable, friendly, knowledgeable about the product, he was fantastic. The somm and manager we spoke with throughout the evening were engaging and truly wanted us to have a great experience. A splurge-type dinner is not something that we can afford very often, but this was beyond worth it for us. Having worked in the beverage industry for several years, I understand how difficult customer service can be, especially on a busy evening. Water Grill Santa Monica absolutely hits it out of the park, and we cant wait to return in the future.

We came here for a large family meal about a week ago. Our server was amazing! I wish I could remember her name. I just asked about one salad and she described every single salad to me (this may normally annoy me a bit), she described each one with so much detail (but in a good way). I felt like if I ordered one there would be no surprises as to what to expect. She also did a fantastic job describing other menu items to us as well. When the other end of our table asked her to do the same for them she did so happily and didnt seem annoyed or anything. She was very attentive and sweet. I ordered the halibut with corn and jalepeno it was great! Everyone at our table loved what they ordered. We had one person in our group with severe food allergies and they were extremely accommodating and made sure everything was perfect for her.

The view, the ambiance are very good. The service was good. However, judging by the reviews, we must have come on an off night. Nothing we had was fresh. Clams for an appetizer were not fresh, left most of them uneaten. The Alaskan king crab legs, were fairly certain they were reheated from a long deep freeze or just really over cooked. Kids salmon also was not great. My kid LOVES salmon, but in true child like honesty, he spit it out after a few tries. My halibut was ok. In all I concluded this was more a place to be seen than to enjoy quality seafood. We were there fairly late on a Saturday (07/01), perhaps it was past prime time.

I dont agree with the prices ,thats for sure ,however the dessert options were amazing and I love the banana chocolate sundae and the lemon meringue pie ,is definitely amazing.Their wine is okay. For there lunch menu, I recommend the scallops ,and the wild Columbia River King Salmon. But the tuna there is disgusting ,and this comes from a person that loves tuna. The workers there are so nice ,however Rickert Mork ,one of the chefs there is the worst. I dont think I have ever been that bad before. I do go there a lot , so I definite know what I am talking about! I love this restaurant but the one in Los Angeles is way better.
