My kids just got out of LAX and were hungry craving for Ramen. I found this on google search with good reviews which prompted us to check it out. Small place we all sat at the bar. The service was quick and professional. Ramen was made meticulously by a man with cool looking tattoos. We anxiously waited for the Shoyu Tonkotsu and a side of Chicken Karaage. Noodles came first we took a sip and at first it was tasty. The noodles was perfectly cooked from what appeared to be fresh noodles. The broth was mildly thick with miso and covered with the usual toppings of bamboo shoots, black mushrooms and two small slices of pork that was seared on a grill then browned with a flame torch. No beansprouts lots of green onions. After several heapings finally Im starting to thirst for water. The reason is the broth is unusually salty for my taste. It was good but I had to wash the saltiness with several glassess of water. Dont bother with the karaage it was mediocre. Overall, the place is clean and new while the employees are friendly and helpful. However, I must say that Ive had better.

The place is either really good or there isnt many other options in the are because it was packed when I got there. A friend was heading out of town and on the way to the airport, he ordered some ramen for himself. I ran in, paid for the food, was handed a bag by an employee with what I thought was the food my friend ordered. Well, it wasnt and when my friend went back in, annoyed (as we were already running late), instead of apologizing and accepting fault they said that I had taken the wrong bag (there was only one bag and it was given to me). Its not a big deal, but annoyed the two of us and probably the reason why neither of us would ever go back.

The ramen here tastes close to the ones in japan. It is also very authentic for its broth too. The tonkotsu i have has a pleasant finish. They are not overly savory with a lot of infused or dark garlic oil like what outside generally does. There are a lot of options to add on to the ramen, for example, buttered corn, tofu, spinach, soft boiled egg etc. Some sides options. I had the fried squids which has a basil ish mayo on the side. I found the crowd generally gathered at around 6pm. The place is quite small that it only has around 20 seatings. I hope people would enjoy it like I did.

Easy to miss. The food is a five. I wanted to sit and eat but was told that i had to wait for my whole party despite no others waiting and at least 8 available seats. I wanted to sit and get drinks and appetizers but was told to wait until my other 2 arrived. Ironical the next set of 4 was a family with 2 small children that only ordered for two but they got to sit since their infant children were with them... Needless to say when I did sit I neglected to order additional items... The food however, was outstanding. I dont know itd Id repeat because of service but the food is stellar.

The eggs are fantastic and the broth delicious. This is a small restaurant with marginally peculiar hours but incredible food. Highly recommended, but make sure youre okay waiting for a if you have a party bigger than 2. Once seated, service is quick, but the quality brings a crowd now and again. You might be tempted to turn Noodle House, a place in the same plaza, DONT DO IT. Wait for a seat here and your tastebuds will thank you later.

Clean ramen joint with straightforward offerings. Solid broth, ramen was kata (Al dente a bit so it doesnt get soggy in the warm broth), chicken karaage was okay, soft boiled egg technique isnt the best. Ive had a lot of ramen in SF, LA, NYC, and throughout Japan... so I rarely give 5 stars on ramen joints who dont have something unique beyond the normal dishes. But this place is nice, hip, food is good, and service is quick.

Personal and cozy are the first thoughts I get when this joint pops in my mind. The food is bangarang. The chef conversates as he and the staff strive to meet the expectations of the customers. The ever changing special keeps the menu interesting and fresh ingredients ensure flavor and satisfaction. No very good for a large group but perfect for a lunch date or for treating a friend.

Dont even finish reading this review, get up and go here to get some ramen. Best ramen in the area, flavorful, lots of broth, and soft meats with great noodles to balance it. Spicy is the way to go personally but I think the regular bowl has great broth as well. Definitely be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes on any given day unless you show up at 5:30pm when it opens up.

Small seating area so prepare to wait when its busy. Fairly modern decor and not overly uncomfortable. The shoyu tonkatsu ramen had excellent flavor that wasnt as heavy as most ramen places. The subtle flavors and toppings went very well together and are a welcome change. Highly recommend this place for ramen.

The ramen was amazing. It was the first time that pork has ever melted in my mouth before, and it was just as amazing as everyone describes it. Words arent enough to describe how heavenly the food is here. I would recommend it to any ramen lover or someone who wants to try it out for the first time.

Top notch ramen. Rivals bowls from Tsujita, Santuoka, Daikokuya, and Yamadaya. Authentic. Limited menu. ( A good thing). Also, it does its egg well, i.e. with a runny yolk. The place is smallish so try avoid coming with a big group. Besides ramen, Ive enjoyed the soft shell crab.

The place is small but food is really tasty. We ordered some edamame which had sea salt and grated lime on top of it, a The Ramen Joint and a spicy tuna rice bowl. Everything was delicious and highly recommend if youre in the highland park area and a fan of ramen soup.

A lighter, more subtle broth than the other usual suspects down Torrance way. A nice change of pace if your stomach isnt quite up to an oil slick floating over your noodles. Pro tip: if youre lucky enough to be there when they have mazemen on the menu, jump on it.

Keeping it simple, you can expect the usual excellence youll find in any Japanese Kitchen. Specializing in ramen you can imagine its very good, with a few delightful extras. I think the name is fitting as it is a very small place. You can expect to wait a bit.

Serious ramen perfection This place can compete with the best of the sawtelle places. The pork chasu is charred with a flame right before serving which gives it a flavor I have not had elsewhere. I really enjoy the Chicken terrine with an added soy egg.

Ramen doesnt get better than this. Do yourself a favor and get the Shoyu Tonkotsu (first item on the menu) add spicy and add egg.... enjoy. Great price... $10 for a bowl of Ramen. Smaller more intimate seating area. Come early if you dont want to wait.

"I think this is the best bowl of ramen Ive ever had!" - My wife (veggie miso ramen) Found street parking easily, no wait at 6 pm on a Friday, and the food was delicious. Fun atmosphere, friendly staff, great choice if youre staying near the airport.
