This place is so Amazing! This is Mexican food like NO other, tastes so good everytime I come. We are always looking for Original Mexican Food, no copy cats or fast food or mexican food that really is american, and this right here at Chalios is to die for! We had the Birria covered in delicious flavorings with lemon, cilantro and diced onion. As well as the (huge) cheese Quesadillas made with incredible tortillas. For those rating low due to the line that forms outside, its called having Fame! This place is that good that lines form, any place that has a line should tell you that people are willing to wait due to the Food and the Ambient of the restaurant. Our waitress was a very kind woman that would constatntly make sure we were taken care of, very sweet personality and constantly kept smiling at a distance to let us know she was there if needed. Great day at Chalios Birrieria!! Come and enjoy this True Mexican food

Pricey but BOMB! Not so great service. Waited a while before we were even asked what we wanted to drink. The older man was super nice though. He brought us our drinks and our straws and set up the forks and spoon. Amorcito lindo. Our first time there, didnt know who what to order or how to order, so we asked the waitress. Apparenly to get the birria, you get the bowl with the consome (looks like a soup) or the plate (which i would have preferred) , cilantro, cebolla, lemon. Baaamb! The birria wasnt so greasy and the micheladas are ok. Tortillas are made by hand. Taste like TJ style but theyre huge. Next time im ordering a quesadilla. ;) overall, bill was 43 for 2 people. And service was bad. So yeaa, 3 stars for me.

Just went there this afternoon...I was expecting great food at good price..we ordered only three dishes, Menudo, rice with beans, and the birrieia...also three drinks, I was expecting for the check to come out at less then 30 bucks because the portions were not big at all..very small dishes...final price came out to 47.00..lol..wow, really?..Ive had way better food with more dishes and portions at way less price...dont waist your time with this place youll be dissatisfied, I came out of there feeling got I just got robbed...never going there again...

On a busy East L.A. First Street with karmic street parking and mercados is this killer place: vinyl booths, clear plastic covered tables with their homemade Habanero hot sauce and bowls of roasted red peppers. Did not get the Birria (dry or in a stew) but the Menudo which is excellent. It comes with a tender pigs foot and juicy clean chunks of tripe in a red chili broth. Really one of the best Menudo in town. The service is excellent and keep an eye out for the wandering musician asking for tips.

I swear WORST service ever . Dont even waste your time . I Ordered something simple Huevos Rancheros plate. Placed the order way before someone else yet the table Infront which had an order a more time consuming got their food first. Manager did not even say anything. I knew I should of left as soon as waitress asked for a second time what our drinks were although she "wrote" it down.

The food was great in taste ;however, the customer service is very bad. They have no organization with the people waiting outside in line, with that being said i think if they had a numbering system for the customers and they took more time to actually clean the tables right they would most definitely be a 5 star restaurant.

The waiter didnt provide us with menus and instead just gave us four options... when food was brought to us, my sons Carne Asada combination was so salty we had to request a re-do on the meat... the rice in my Birria combination was very salty as well... also waitresses uniforms are too short, this is a family restaurant too

We went there today for breakfast and were terribly disappointed, we ordered the chile relleno plate. The portions were small, the chiles tasteless, the rice had no flavor. We used to go there before and the food was excellent. They got greedy increasing the food prices and decreasing the quality of the food.

Waited approx 12 mins for table to be wiped down and order to be taken.. When served Birria was cold and oil hardened on sides!! DISGUSTING!! Worst part of experience was my parents were disappointed.. Thank you for wasting our precious time together..

The Birria & their sauces are very tasty & they also have hand made tortillas which are good. Although I dont reccomend buying their Aguas Frescas...last time I bought One of Melon & One of Cucumber and they tasted as if they had started to rot.

This place is amazing. Sometimes there is a line, however what do you expect for a restaurant with a big following. The tried Birria all over los Angeles . I even make my own from time to time. I must say this is the best place I have tried.

Authentic birria de chivo. Meal was delicious. Tortillas made by hand. On weekends they dont have a menu. Just birria. Menudo. And two types of tacos. Thats it. Be ready for a wait. Line forms out front in front of restaurant.
