First came across it 2 years ago. Went back w/my husband who loves Mex Food and was SO dissapointed at the "friendly" service. Funny that was their intro in the menu. We went at 9 pm and she did not even look at us and we had to ask for seating. Then she whipped out a number and was quiet. We asked "How long is the wait?" and she said, "Next available." That was it. We were about to leave when we were called. The man who sat us walked SO FAST in front of us, never bothered to look back, we lost him to the crowd of waiters carrying drinks. We finally found him and he had to nerve to say, "Lost you!" OH my goodness!!! He should have been the one looking back to make sure we are okay! I was so mad I had to mention to him that people were infront of us and he needed to slow down. IN any case, sat us next to kitchen, and a pillar that had table trays stacked up against it. I wanted to badly to go but I know the food. The food came, it did not dissapoint too badly. The 4 cups sangia made me forget all the pre food events. The salsa is wonderful and spicy but chips are oily and hard. I think El Torito chips are better. THe steak is flavorful. We got the sirlion steak and chicken quesadilla. I recommend trying for food (albeit pricey) it but if they thought they were friendly, they need to retake lessons on hospitalities. Waiter never checked back on us either. Why bother with good tips coupled with bad service from the beginning. I love the mariachi though. I would give them the tips. BTW, parking is bad at night. I recommend parking on side streets which are narrow but residential and quiet. Would we go back? Not dying for it.

The handful of times that I have ate at Mijares Mexican Restaurant was because I was invited to a wedding or birthday reception that was being held in their back room. Each time, the food was served buffet style and the buffet was composed of rice, beans, guacamole, salsa, steak fajitas, chicken fajitas, tortillas, and chips...from what I can remember. The place was very clean and the service was great, although all of the decorations for these events were done by the people hosting the events and not the place itself. If you were to use the back room for one of your events, there is outdoor seating available, dance floor, private restrooms, and your own bar.

What happen to this place ! You can tell and see it in the waiters eyes that he felt bad serving us this food our son and daughter couldnt eat a plane taco because the meat was to old and salty my soup tasted like it was FRESH from a can just added a piece of corn to make it look authentic! Cheese enchilada melted from the microwave two beers were good to wash down that horrible soup what a rip off We use to come here a lot a few years ago and sad to see GOOD restraunt go down one by one in old town Pasadena (please call restraunt rescue!

Pasadena unfortunately does not have very good mexican restaurants. I grew up on the east side- so I know mexican food. This place is ok they have a brunch on sundays and the menudo is great. They also have musicians that play inside. This place is usually packed and although the food is ok-- the place is nice its great for families and the bars is usually full especially on sundays where there is a game on. When I do go here is usually on a sunday and i come back for the menudo offered at brunch.

Their steak and potato burrito was exactly that, steak and potato! No fillers such as half rice or beans to make most of the burrito. This is not a restaurant so dont go there expecting that. The seating is VERY limited inside but I did notice an outside area in the back. You can see them preparing the food if you take to time as well. The food was better than most burritos shops Ive been to.

Easy to get to, and Ive rarely had any issues with parking. I love the food here, and the prices are about average. Its one of the few places I can afford to take my entire family to and be able to pay for everyones meals. Thats a rarity for a college student! Not to mention, the servings are a bit on the large side, meaning you can take some home and have it for lunch the next day! Yum yum!

This place was really a authentic hidden gem. Love this place!! The owner, Cindy was Super sweet! She was very generous with her portions and genuinely caring. The food was amazing!!!! You can order from the buffet spread or a la carte. The chicken there was super flavorful and tasty! Prices were very fair. I saw Cindy hook up a homeless man. Cindy is great!! Happy Burritoing!!

This place was much better a few years ago. Its gotten too expensive for the type of food they serve. In addition to the food being over priced, the service is so so. Their small guacamole - which I would call a scoop of guac - is $10. Thats outrageous. This place is officially off my list. Thank you for the good times in the past but I must move on now that the good times are over.

My favorite is the "Spa" Margarita - made with sugar free margarita mix. Then I add the shredded chicken salad with pico de gallo as dressing and its a low calorie, filling meal. What amazes me is the age range of diners - all the way from babies being carried to great grandparents. Definitely a family restaurant. For people watching, get a seat in the bar and have dinner there.

I am up in Sacramento, my work unit was celebrating a retirement of a co-worker. I called Mijares, from Sacramento, to send my coworker a drink and requested they charge my credit card. Tom, the manager, waived the charge and sent the drink to my coworker. Awesome customer service super pleasant guy too!! Thanks, I will definitely visit Mijares when in So Cal.

The food is average, just a step above Acapulco or El Torito and is your typical Mexican food restaurant. What makes this place special is that its still family owned and is frequented by a lot of regulars . The staff is also very friendly. The Micheladas are made perfectly and priced right. Good value for a meal and a beer. Parking can be a pain at times.

“Traditional Excellence” Have been to the Parkway Grill over the years for business and family meals. What is truly amazing is the consistent quality and service over time. While many other restaurants are reducing portion sizes, cutting back on staff, minimizing training and the like, the Parkway Grill seems to have been able to retain their focus.

FANTASTIC food and great for an event. I attended the ASCCA meeting there with about 40 automotive shops and this is my 2nd time there. Each time the service was great and the food even better. Drinks are served here and smiles are abundant. Great location as well and UBER does pick you up curbside after 9PM just in case you need to know that.
