I have been coming to La Abeja Restaurant for about 40 years, if not more, and I have to say that La Abeja is the best Mexican Restaurant in all of Los Angeles! For breakfast try the Huevos Rancheros and you will know what a real Mexican breakfast is all about! Delish! Try the Adobado for lunch or early dinner and brother, you will think you are in olMexico! Pork cooked for hours in a mixture of secret spices done to perfection! And the servings are the most generous of any restaurant! Or try the Adobado Burrito, for someone with a smaller appetite and I promise you, you will ask for a doggie bag and funny thing is there is no doggie at home! Seriously La Abeja is the best kept secret! Roy and Julia are the charming and gracious hosts who are there everday with a smile and ready to serve their best! Visit them for authentic Mexican food and I guarantee you will be back many times with many friends!

Its great to see so many reviews from other folks who like me have been coming here for decades (39 years). As a Los Angeles native in my 60s, I cherish places like La Abeja because they are among the few constants remaining in an ever changing city. Ive known 3 generations of Roys family over the years. Unfortunately Im kind of stuck on the huevos rancheros and can rarely bring myself to order something different. The home made chili sauce in the little jar on every table is heaven. Hey, the place isnt fancy or hip but an old fashioned homey neighborhood restaurant that satisfies every time. Im so happy Ive been able to enjoy this place, the people and the food for most of my life.

Amazing. I have been coming to this restaurant for over 30 years and I just cant seem to get tired of it. I always get Huevos Rancheros and a green enchilada (with meat) on the side. Most friends that I bring for the first time start with the eggs and chorizo and then work their way up to the enchiladas and crispy tacos. I oftentimes take a large side of green sauce home to make chilaquiles with. Perfection. When Im on the go the Machaca burrito with chile is to die for. The Menudo on Sundays and Saturdays is trimmed right and delicious. I cant say enough about this place. No chips and salsa here just good Mexican food. Just try it already.

I came here a couple of times with my mother, an acquaintance of mine and my exboyfriend a long time ago. The staff are very respectful, friendly and helpful, but I did not like the fact that they put very little meat on the carne asada and the chicken tacos and the rest is just tomato. The fried beans with rice are to die for. I think they use lard instead of oil to fry these beans with rice. I also dont like the fact that they close on Tuesdays to clean up the place. But I very highly recommend these beans with rice to everyone.

Best longanisa of my life. So good we ordered an extra side of it. Salad on the side was such a good complement and the way the egg after u cut into it drips on to the garlic rice is a tasty thing of beauty. The plating showed much care and the food flavors were outstanding. I will always love my filipino point point joints and breakfast served in Styrofoam containers (combo plates forevera) but this was a true experience ! Will be back! Best silog in CA.

I always come here when I crave grandmas home cooked food...even though my own grandmother is resting in peace. This food is exactly the smell, the taste, and the feeling I used to get when grandma cooked for me. I miss her so much....argh....I wasnt going to tear up dang it! Anyway. Eat this food. This is the epitome of Chicano-Mexican food. Youll love it. If you dont love it, something is terribly wrong with you.

It was recommended to us, so we decided to try. We waited one hour and 20 minutes (55 min to be placed at a table and 20 minutes for our food. Management needs to be honest with the waiting time, they told we would wait a max of 25 min. Ive been to better mom n pop places, service from waiter was good, although he was pretty busy, he managed to bring our order pretty quickly.

Ive been coming here since I was a little girl. (Over 30 years) Great place to eat. The owners are super nice people and make you feel welcome. The food is so hearty and tastes so good. Definitely a local favorite. Especially one of mine. The Milanesa plate and the Huevos con Chorizo are my two favorite plates. The Mexican Hot Chocolate is oh soo good!

This is the place you go when you just want delicious, simple Mexican dishes and breakfast. This is family run, you can tell that they love what they do and they make you feel welcome even if you just moved to the neighborhood. Its the kind of place that people have been going for decades and that makes me feel good when you see other places come and go.

First Gen. Mexican approved, dishes that taste just like my moms cooking. Simple flavors for example, the beans, pose a crucial judgement in my opinion to where a good place to eat Mexican food. I mostly eat breakfast, always with a side of potatoes. Daily specials finish quickly so get there early. Fridays is my fav.

This place is one of the best local restaurants in the area. The food was excellent and extremely fresh, super delicious. Sterak picado burrito was best Ive ever had. A must stop for anyone who loves good authentic Mexican food. Prices are extremely reasonable. Lots of love goes into making their food. Definitely 5 stars!

The best wet burrito Ive ever had (in green sauce). The wait is fairly long for takeout especially since no one was there when I ordered. Took approximately 10 min. Well worth the wait but probably a good idea to call ahead for takeout. Reasonably priced! Parking is street only.

Great, authentic flavors. Recipes from abuela. The huevos rancheros was very good. The coffee was also good. A little disappointed that the tortilla was not handmade but the meal did not suffer for that. Would eat there again.
