I arrived at about 11:15 am on Presidents day and there was about 7 couples outside waiting to be seated. I was already prepared to wait for a bit so this was not a surprise. I walked around the restaurant before I was seated and checked out the three different room that they had for dining. It was interesting to see how the different rooms where decorated and you can see how they expanded the restaurant over the years. There are pictures of people standing at places all over the world holding "Eat at the Potholder" signs which was pretty cool. I even saw one on a jet of some kind. They hook you up with a free breakfast if you bring in your picture taken in a different part of the world so that is pretty fun. The only parking that I was able to find was on the street and this is a very crowded area of Long Beach. Luckily I had a small car and we were able to find a spot up the first street and about 10 cars down which equated to a short 3 minute walk. I had the Ortega Chili Scramble and my wife had the Eggs Benedict. Both dishes where awesome and totally worth the wait.

What I Ordered - The Couch: 2 Eggs, 2 Fruity Pebbles French Toast, 2 Bacon, 2 Sausage and Super Spuds Dont judge me!! I couldnt decide between sweet or savory. The pictures of the fruity pebbles french toast looked so good...but, the super spuds sounded good as well. I ended up choosing the Couch because it had both. I gave my bacon away since Im not a fan to begin with. Super sad that the Fruity Pebbles French Toast was a let down. Did not taste as good as it looked. My sisters fiancés Apple Cinnamon Flakes French Toast with Apple Pie Filling was wayyy better. It wasnt too sweet and a good change from the normal french toast options. The Super Spuds were good but, it was literally a plate on its own LOL. Sooo much food for $14.95. Definitely got my moneys worth.

I loved this breakfast place! So much so, that my family visited this place two weekends in a row. We all got their stuff toast and it was so yummy. My mom had the banana nut French toast and it was the best. I had strawberries and so did my brother. The wait was a bit long, but their so good its worth it. Best to go early on the weekends. The décor is cute, a bunch of pictures of people with their stickers in different destinations. There is also indoor and outdoor seating available. Parking is a hassle, but its Long Beach, its to be expected. I will definitely be going back to this place.

The Potholder is a pretty good find, not the most amazing breakfast place in LB as far as affordable breakfast places go. But it is the only breakfast/brunch place that seems to stay open after 2 on the weekends and the omelet selection is huge. I also recommend the baked potato skins. Probably one of the best potato breakfast entrees in LB. I recommend going and hour before they close on the weekends. Theres barely anyone there and you have the servers full attention.

My boyfriends sandwich looked DELICIOUS! My food on the other hand was cold, dry, and not that palatable. It was like we were eating at two different restaurants! I ordered breakfast: the Maui Omelette with a side of Bacon and a Multigrain Pancake. He got the Healthy Turkey with Bacon. I had heard their combo called "The Couch" is really good so maybe if I come in the future Ill get that or a sandwich.

Was looking for a breakfast place open late and found this one on Google. Ordered a pancake, corned beef hash, and bacon a la carte. Food came out fine, though the corned beef hash wasnt as burned as I like it. Entertaining anecodte: My waitress had apparently been a customer until about 15 minutes before I got there. They were busy, knew she had experience, and hired her on the spot.

Wait staff was rude which was surprising since most reviews said service was great. (we went on a fri so maybe that was it). Ordered the frankie special (two eggs, two bacon and two french toast, $5.95) Food was great, hot and tasty. Will try again on a saturday to see if the staff will be in a better mood

Food was good, service was good, portions are big. Local place, the servers knee customers name. Overall good experience, beats going to a big corporate breakfast places. They even have a Mickey pancake for the little ones. Would I come back, sure.

Super chill. Maybe too chill? Lol Very good food. Im not happy with places that cant leave napkins on the table or at least provide you with a number of napkins upon request. Also, a damaged plate made me somewhat apprehensive. :-/

Great food and ambiance. Line might be long if you get there too late. Pros: good food, big portions, authentic ambiance that hipster places try to emulate. Good service. Cons: coffee was pretty mediocre, wait times can suck on weekends

One of the best breakfast spots around with a great local vibe. The service is great and the food it tasty. Everything youd expect in generous portions. Be prepared for a wait on peak hours during weekends.

Had breakfast with local friends (who recommended the place). Great cuban coffee, and very good choices for breakfast. Had Egg wraps (delicious!) and french toasts. And free parking, Definitely will go back.

The atmosphere is casual. The food is great. The people working there are genuinely nice, and you can tell they enjoy, and want to be there. The coffee here is also great.alqays happy with my visit.

Nice place, but had an awful experience getting a table for 3. There were plenty of open tables, but the staff was refusing to seat people. Ended up going elsewhere after waiting for 50 minutes.

The food was excellent, as well as the friendly service. Parking will become hard to find as it gets closer to peak times along with waiting times which can be around forty-five minutes

I great breakfast spot. Expect a long wait on Sunday mornings. Week days are not so busy. A wide selection of omelets, waffles, pancakes, and every other breakfast item you can imagine.

Always great service, great food, basic coffee. Love the chorizo the most, tried almost everything on the menu by now, also the fruity pebbles french toast is amazing.
