My review below was done in 2010. I still love this place. It still has really great food and service! A must try! This is my second time eating at this place! The Chef/Owner is always there and preparing the yummy meal. The restaurant is very small and tight. I think they take walk-ins sometime if someone who RSVPed doesnt show up. Dont count on that though..youre better off with RSVPing! Parking here is street parking so youll definitely need to look around for space! This little cute cafe is one of those hole in the wall gems. They have a couple of outside seatings where they allow fido to dine with you. I am a fan of dog friendly places if yall dont know by now! ;) Things Ive tried here thats worth mentioning: Brick Chicken - was very tender and had delicious gravy type of sauce with mashed potato! Yumm! Mac & Cheese - It definitely wasnt cheesy! It was just dam good. It had like little bread crumbs sprinkled over it. I believe they were bread crumbs? Whatever it was, it was yum! Fish Chowder - This was soup of the day. It was a very tasty well seasoned soup! I just love this soup! We were curious about what the soup was and the waiter was nice enough to get us a sample of it. The sample tasted so great we had to order a bowl. This soup definitely made me a happy camper! Bread pudding - This was supposedly one of our favorite dessert here. First time we went here we had like 3 of these! But this last time, it turned out okay. It was a bit burnt and didnt have enough syrup and chocolate in it. There was something different about it and it wasnt the same as when we first had it. The last time we ate here was probably over a year ago. All in all, our waiter was awesome and the food is great AND reasonably priced! I have to give it the 4 star it deserves! Yay!

Tonight we ordered food from At Last Cafe through Postmates. According to the delivery driver, they were busy and our order was going to take longer than originally stated. When our food arrived, the entire bag was dripping because of the amount of gravy that was covering the mashed potatoes. They were practically swimming in it. I ordered the brick chicken which i have had before and thought would be a safe order again. My chicken arrived and was leaking red juices from the wing. Instead of calling and waiting for another order, i just decided to nuke it in the microwave. This cooked the chicken through, but didnt help the taste. At first i thought it was just drenched in lemon and rosemary before being cooked which could have caused the tang i tasted, but the more i ate, the more wary i became of the overwhelming sour flavor of this dish. I ended up throwing out my dinner and praying that i dont get food poisoning. I have seen this place a couple times on a very popular tv show and have eaten there once quite a while back, but was just in the mood to splurge tonight only to be disappointed. Will not be going back here again.

After years of wanting to try this place I finally did and was served the coldest steak and mashed potatoes. I got the flat iron steak ($15.95) and it looked great coming out but at first bite was room temperature and frankly a little bland. Same goes for the potatoes. You can taste that they use fresh ingredients here and I like that. Service was ok but I ordered a soda and had to remind the server to bring it after waiting 10 minutes for it. The highlight of the evening however was my girlfriend got the mac and cheese but added chorizo. It was delicious with spice and very rich. It also came out piping hot. I would like to give this place another try since I live in the neighborhood but wont be getting the steak next time. Hopefully this is a one time thing but you would think the temperature of food would be something that would have been checked by the staff.

The food is simply amazing. When we walked in we might have been a little skeptical...its not a place that puts on airs. But once we had one bite of our appetizer (avocado fries-I know, sounds weird, but trust me!) we knew we were in for a culinary treat and we were not disappointed at all. There were four of us, and we all had fun trying each others entrees, which were all delicious!!! The service was outstanding and very friendly so we went back the next night and had the same experience (with a different server). Dont be fooled by the storefront, the food is marvelous. Seriously the best Ive had in years. One drawback, parking was a little difficult and we did have to walk a couple of blocks, but it was actually nice to walk back after such a satisfying meal. An easy five stars.

Good cuban sandwich and good fries. I had the lamb burger and that was good too. Although I ordered it medium and it came out more rare than I would have liked. There were a lot of red pieces of ground lamb meat :/ Regardless, the lamb was delicious. When we got to At Last Cafe, there were tons of tables open. If youre sitting outside you can just sit wherever you like. If youre sitting indoors, you have to check in with the hostess. Also they take reservations so I would recommend calling to make a reservation just in case this place gets busy. I would probably want to try other things on the menu when I come back.

My wife and I just ate here and were blown away. Omar was our server and was so friendly and helpful. The owner even came around to check in on us and say hello which is something not a lot of places do these days. The food is really inexpensive and is very flavorful. The special of the day list was almost as big as their regular menu which offers people who go there a lot the opportunity to try new dishes which is a huge reason I am interested in going back. Lots of shaded patio seating too which was great. Love this place, oh and I forgot the people watching is great too.

Such a cute place! Reasonable prices and the food is pretty good. The salads are treat here! The chicken salad was delicious, but the sanwhich was a little dry, lacked texture, and the bread choice was in my opinion, wrong. The Roast Beef French Dip sandwich was unfortunately a fail. It tasted like a sandwich you get from 7/11 and put it in the microwave. I dont recommend it. I wasnt all that impressed the first time I ate here, but the great location and cute patio keeps me coming back, and Im excited to try the Lamb Osso Bucco

One of my familys favorite spots in Long Beach! The service is always outstanding on every one of our visits. Thebstaff is very accomodating, and every now and then Chef John makes the rounds to chat with his guests, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. The food is vert good and very reasonably priced. For the quality and quantity, expect the price to be about half of that which you would expect at another restaurant. Highly recommended!

I ordered the buffalo short ribs, this was so good. My father was a chef and i never liked anyones short ribs but his. I mean they were cooked perfect with the mashed potatoes and veggies. Hell i dont even like steamed veggies, but these were well seasoned with lemon and i believe there was red wine infused. Damn good. Last time i was here i enjoyed the prime rib. Ill be in soon. Oh the serivce was great too.
