Ive been a fan of their Sunset Beach location for years so I was really excited when I found out that BRIX had opened a location so close to me! I found myself in the area on a Sunday evening and decided to finally check it out. It was about 7:30ish when my friend and I walked in; there was one large party and a few smaller occupied tables--definitely not "packed" by any stretch of the imagination, yet it took a while for anyone to come and take our orders. It seemed like there were at least a couple of servers but maybe they were overwhelmed with that big party? I dunno, but we got a couple of pints of beer and ordered a margherita pizza, a veggie reuben, and an order of garlic fries. The reuben came out first, and we were glad we decided to get the side of fries--wed read in the menu that you could set a side of potato chips or cole slaw so we chose chips and the portion was really meager. Not even close to just a handful. Their garlic fries were just as awesomely garlicky and good as I remembered them, but again, the portions seemed on the small side. When my friend bit into the reuben, a curious expression went over his face and he said, "I think this is the regular reuben." I took a bite and sure enough, theyd given him the regular meat reuben. We flagged down our waitress, who was rightfully dismayed and aplogetic, and said we could keep the regular reuben if we wanted. So I ended up eating the meat reuben and my friend ate his veg reuben. I really enjoyed their regular pastrami reuben; it is one of their signature sandwiches and it didnt disappoint. My friend said the veggie reuben was OK, but he didnt seem super-enthused about it (perhaps it was the extra wait). As for the margherita pizza, however, Id have to say it was one of the most meh margherita pizzas in recent memory. The crust was kind of limp and doughy and the cheese and sauce just tasted like something Id make at home with regular grocery store items. We both ate a slice and I ended up taking the rest home. In the midst of all this the service was REALLY slow. It was getting closer to closing time and it appeared there was only one server left, and while we werent in any hurry, if we had been we wouldve been seriously annoyed. What did end up annoying me, however, was when they started dimming and brightening the lights to let us know that it was past closing time. We werent trying to overstay our welcome, but the whole reason why we were there that late was because theyd been so slow! Anyway, by the time we left I was thoroughly unimpressed and am not planning on going back.

Its okay... its *just* okay. Its pricey, and although theres a nice ambience, I personally found it lacking when considering how the menu meets the price points. Its fine for a little bit of an upscale cocktail and appetizer meet with someone for the first time, but other than that I wasnt really impressed beyond the fact that its among the 6th street promenade, so its not bad for a stop-over during a stroll along that restaurant row either, but certainly not a goto destination for a nice, romantic meal when so many other options have easier access in nicer environments where homeless people arent panhandling you on every corner (as they do here).

I went to Fundamental for lunch today and thought the food was fantastic!! I got the lunch special and had the smoked brisket sandwich with a side salad and chocolate chip cookie. The sandwich was delicious! My friend had the BLT which included a fried egg, and chili on it. I sampled it not knowing what to expect with that combination but it was outstanding! I am so happy I discovered a new place to go to.

Best Pastrami sandwich in Long Beach. You have to order the Fuggetabout It at prix. You actually have to GO to Brix just so you can have this sandwich. Order it as is...no changes. You will NOT be sorry. Seriously...I want to eat one RIGHT NOW. Aside from that, great atmosphere and location. The staff is so nice and they have a great selection of wine and beer

I have been coming to Brix at the Shore, since it first opened. It is by far the best place to go to in Belmont Shores. The owners are adorable, the staff are fantastic, especially Sam, the food and wine are fabulous. I highly recommend this place, the perfect wine bar. I always bring friends, and they really enjoy the food and wine.

First, the food is great. So, 2 stars you ask? I have a hard thinking this sandwich is worth $20 (sorry, $18). The beer list looked ok...Unless you want a pale/IPA-there were none. And the service was abysmal. Wont be going back and its unfortunate.

Forgetaboutit is the best pastrami in town. I have been to both locations and had an awesome experience at both. The owner makes you feel like your in his home. If you are in the market to get some good food and wine go to Brix at the shore:)

Blue burger was amazing! Fantastic beer on tap, and not insanely overpriced. Not a lot of seats, so i could see this place getting crowded. The live band was a little overwhelming for such a small venue

Expensive for theyre miniscule servings that wouldnt satify a childs hunger. On the positive side the couple bites I had were delicious thats why I gave them a 2 star instead of 1 star!

Love love, love the pastrami sandwiches here. The wait is a little long though, and the prices are a little steeper than youd normally expect to pay for a sandwich, but they are but.

We just stopped by for sandwiches to go and they were delicious. The bartender wasnt super attentive but that was understandable considering the crowd.

The best Pastrami Sandwich in Long Beach, but pricier than most. Depending on when you go, the crowd may be unusual. Service is decent, friendly even.
