Although our server was pleasant, the kitchen was having major issues so we had to wait awhile for our mains. The steak tartare appetizer we ordered was made with American mustard which was really weird! Not good at all. They forgot to make the waffle chips so we had to cancel our order. The crab panini was really blah. Average. The watermelon lime cocktail was nice though. The couple oysters we tried were teensy and $3 each! The sauces were just sugar and they were missing freshly grated horse radish.

As a pet sitting business owner I come here almost every month with my team for their Yappy Hour (every 2nd Wednesday of the month). Great fun thing to do for local pet owners. Its sponsored by Muttropolis and Cafe la Rue is a great location for that. Outside patio is spacious and great for dogs, food is amazing, and happy hour prices are pretty good. They do change their menu time to time, so dont get attached to anything in particular, lol.

The staff was very nice and attentive, the food was pretty good but not spectacular. I had French onion soup and steak frites for dinner. The steak was a little tough and the French fries were pretty ho-hum. Its convenient if youre staying at La V, but next time Id skip it in favor of other places La Jolla has to offer.

Old style La Jolla at its finest! Great bartenders, cool drinks from the past and current favorites. Nice live entertainment some evenings. Nice old jazz and swing otherwise over the sound system.

The service here was great and so was the food. There is both outside and inside dining and the atmosphere is most definitely on par with French decorating. Definitely get the crab sandwich.

Service was great! Jesse had a great attitude and the happy hour deals were filling for the price! Chicken oysters were amazing and the mussels were also a standout. Will definitely be back.

Outdoor seating and live music. We came for cocktails and a flat bread. The drinks were tasty and fun. The flat bread was satisfying. I do recommend!
