Initially I tried to make a reservation but unfortunately, they had another large party coming in so they told me to either choose an earlier time or a later time. Since we had a large group, I had to double-check with the group if this was ok. I had a friend call in and make the reservation. Lo and behold, he was able to get us a reservation for the time we wanted for teppan. When I called, they didnt give me the choice and Im assuming the other large party was for the sushi area. So definitely specify when you make a reservation! Our group wanted teppan so we happily snagged the 7 pm slot. The restaurant is located on PCH by this motel and parking is valet but you can try your luck parking on PCH. Once inside, I went to the back bar to meet my friends. Free shot with Yelp Check-in! The night was off to a good start. Apparently they have all night happy hour on Mondays and Wednesdays, double score for us. As far as teppan was concerned, we saved $10 off with the happy hour special of pick 2 (any combination of NY steak, chicken, shrimp, or calamari). I opted for the NY steak (medium rare) and shrimp. With our meal, we also received salad, soup, fried or steamed rice, vegetables and noodles. It was a lot of food and I was starving. They even accommodated my friends request not to mix her seafood with meat as she has some food allergies. The food was delicious, but maybe its because I was starving. I also tried some of my friends Nigori cold sake and ordered a Kirin for myself. I thought I had ordered the draft but out came a bottle instead. No big deal since it was happy hour pricing. If youve never been to a teppan show, youre in for a treat. Our chef and server kept us entertained throughout the evening. Our group had a great time. I can see how this place can get rowdy on the weekends but when we were there, it was quieter. It definitely depends on the clientele.

Very dishonest establishment. My girlfriend and I visited this restaurant on Valentines Day for a fun date. When we arrived we found that there was no parking and were forced to wait in the lot for someone to leave which took about 15 minutes. After we finally got a spot we entered the front door and waited 3 minutes for anyone to greet us and tell us where we needed to go. We were directed to the back of the restaurant where our drink orders were taken. I personally had to order twice because the bartender/manager forgot my order. Then came a huge shock when we learned we could not order off of the normal menu and were forced to use the Valentines Day only menu which was twice as expensive as what we had expected. This should have been mentioned to us when we made the reservation over the phone. The final and worst thing was when they refused to honor our groupon claiming that the fine print says they are not valid on holidays. The groupon says that it is not valid on "federal holidays" which Valentines Day is not. I brought this up to the manager who then said he just wouldnt take it. He then lied again and said we were supposed to show it them before being seated which is not specified in the deal nor have I ever seen this before in the many times I have used a groupon. The manager said his name was Joe Harrington, which I suspect to be a lie again as the receipt says Joe M. He seemed very stern about not allowing us to redeem a groupon which even groupon customer support said was valid and should have been redeemed by Daimon. I hate to leave negative reviews, in fact, this is the first, but I feel like Daimon robbed me.

So the first time I tried this place was not a pleasant experience, but that was mainly because of the ex-girlfriend I was with haha. I recently came here with a friend and we were both blown away by the food and service. First of all we came on a monday which I guess is all day/night happy hour. So we took advantage of the $2 bottles of sake. Second, the sushi was delicious. It was pretty dead when we went there so the sushi chef was able to spend his focus on us. We picked a couple rolls (rainbow and new las vegas) and he chose the third. All three of them were delicious, especially the chefs choice, which we named the french fry roll (pictures posted). But finally the thing that sold me on the place was the service! The waiter brought us a couple shots (which were delicious) on the house. Then the sushi chef prepared a quick little orange dessert. And finally when I went to pay I noticed that there was a special when checking in to foursquare (10 dollars off a bill of 10 dollars or more) so I showed the waiter. He had never seen it before so he asked his manager and neither had the manager, so beware of fake foursquare coupons! But to apologize he gave us another round of shots on the house. Valet is a little useless but free (I just parked my own car). Overall a great experience, will be coming back!

I went here on Valentines Day with my boyfriend. The parking is terrible there, their lot has barely any spaces. We had to wait 15 minutes for another car to leave. It took them almost five minutes just to greet us and guide us where to go. I made a reservation over the phone to dine in on Valentines Day. They shouldve told me I could only order off the expensive Valentines Day menu. I was not informed we were not allowed to order off the regular menu. To top it off, they would not accept our Groupon because they said its not valid on holidays. Yet, on the fine print it says its not valid on federal holidays. Valentines Day is not a federal holiday at all. So, my boyfriend and I contacted Groupon customer service and they said IT IS valid on Valentines Day. I even screenshot my conversation with Groupon customer service to prove it. So, this restaurant robbed us and was very stubborn and rude enough to not accept our Groupon because of their ignorance. I feel the staff did not take us seriously and for that, I will leave a one star review. Thank you for robbing us an extra $47. I will definitely not be coming back and I will definitely let many people know how terrible this restaurant is and how awful my experience here was on Valentines Day.

The food is delicious. The service is good in terms of the practical application of being waited on. Unfortunately, the chefs are pretty crass. They think its funny to make dildos out of cucumbers, squirt whipped cream on the end and stick this into the mouths of female (or male) patrons. They create woman laying spread eagle out of the fried rice, place noodles for pubic hair, put a strip of butter for the "wet spot", and then have the patrons "play" with the "wet spot". They also feed patrons carrots fashioned into a penis and testicles on the end of a spatula. This sounds funny, but, actually, its pretty lame and gets old pretty quickly - this "humor" lasts the duration of the meal. If this is dinner at the adult table, than I guess Im not an adult. Its scraping the barrel of humor at the expense of the customer. I wont be going back because of this lameness, and its a shame because the food was really good.
