I came to know about this restaurant through my friend. He mentioned that he went around afternoon on Sunday buffet and there were so many people ahead that he couldnt get the table and returned. My 1st visit opinion-- Excellent Drove all the way from south bay to hayward for buffet but they mentioned that they were not serving buffet due to ramadan. Pay upfront to get seated. Ordered Haleem, tandoori chicken and chicken biryani. Attached Images. Haleem was average but the tandoori chicken leg was excellent. This is certainly the best tandoori chicken I have ever had. Tandoori chicken was delicious and perfectly cooked. Unlike the Dum biryanis, this biryani was like chicken curry and basmati rice mixed but tasted delicious. It was slightly spicy. The quantity is so huge that just one biryani is good for 2 people. My 2nd visit to the buffet was a bad experience. Most of the plates and other dishes are not properly cleaned. I could see the stains still present on the plates. Attached image. I have seen many people taking food with their hands though there are spoons to serve themselves. There are many food items as the restaurant claims, most of them are oily/ cold and not fully cooked and taste very bad. Fish pakoda and tandoori chicken were cold. Goat paya and all the other chicken items had so much oil in them that I decided to stick to vegetarian. Naan were burnt out and carelessly cooked. Poori, potato curry, Spinach fry, daal and basmati rice are the only items that I was able to eat and tasted average. In the desserts section, sooji halwa is also burnt out and tasted bland. carrot halwa was made with carrots that were spoiled. Again fruit custard also tasted bland. gulab jamun and rice kheer tasted ok. P.S. Dont go to this unhygienic Sunday buffet that is full of oily and bland foods.

First of all, I have to say that their Mango Lassi is the best I have ever had! They already have it chilled in their fridge which you can just grab and go, and it tastes so refreshing! The drink is thick and tastes like fresh mango, just how I like it. Most mango lassis Ive had are too milky, thin, and watery. The food is great. We had some tandoori chicken and garlic and plain naan. It was fresh and tasty, and all at a reasonable price! The biryani is quite spicy, so not recommended for kids. The bad part about it is the location and the venue itself. The location is kind of rotting and dirty. They have little space inside for normal guests when they have large reservations. They are slow at cleaning up tables, so we had to wait a while and it smelled bad/the tables were disgusting and unclean. Overall, the restaurant is well worth going to for the food, but dont stay too long.

I used to visit Pakwan restaurant for their Sunday buffet so after coming back to bay area after 6 years decided to visit it again. Unfortunately i was disappointed with their food, service and owners attitude towards the customer. First you need to wait for 30-40 mins to get a table and you need to wait right in front of owners desk so that you dont miss out your name. Owner make you feel as if you are coming for free food. But lets talk about food itself, quality of food is very poor. Chicken Tikka Kebab:- some what better than all other items Seekh Kebab:- Very Dry and non-spciy, color of kebab itself tells entire story. Chicken tikka masala, paya, nehari, karahi:- Low quality curries and to bland. Desert:- Kheer is slight better than Gajar halwa. Overall not worth the price of 16$. I would rather go other Pakistani restaurant and order a la carte.

I have been to a lot of Indian/Pakistani places around the bay and Pakwan takes the number one spot . Here are the reasons why the place is great: 1) Serves traditional Indian/Pakistani for a reasonable cost and good portions. None of the "Americanized" stuff that plagues the bay. 2) Great Service and are reasonably fast for how busy they get. (Average wait for food is ~ 8 min). 3) One of the cleanest and calmest place to have dinner with family or friends. (Surprising for an Indian place). Recommendations for food: 1) Mutton Biriyani 2) Naans (Again Best in the Bay) 3) Chicken Tikka Masala Dont expect the place to be too fancy but somewhere that is casual and is very relaxed so that you can have great discussions with family and friends.

Good solid food with authentic options. If you have a hankering for brain masala, check to see if its a special of the day because it often is. As a matter of fact, many specials they offer you wont find at typical Indian restaurants. The goat biryani is a strong contender for the best in the bay. Its good food at good prices yo. The Chai is free! That said, the service is only so so. This is a self serve place where you order up front and pick up your food when your number is called. Theyre not super diligent about making sure each table is cleaned in a timely manner or thoroughly. Bottom line is, its not a date night place but go for the food.

Today we have visited the Hayward Pakwan for the first time. The food was not good at all, most of the item was not enough hot and tasty like Tandoori chicken, Fish pakora, Sikh kabob etc. For the main dish we got some big puri that was too oily. The chicken items were average tastes. The mutton item was not soft enough and not that much tasty. The desert items were good like suji halwa, gajar ka halwa and kheer. Overall I would say you "ll get many more variety to have in your brunch and they are not tasty at all. Lastly I have never seen before that a restaurant ask for the payment before you have the food to taste.

The most awesome food ever. Payay out of this world. Poori and Cholay to die for. I couldnt stop myself from eating. Went there for the Sunday brunch. Was pretty busy. Was told it might be 15 mins before we would get seated. But we were given a seat in under 5 minutes. The Sunday brunch is a little to the pricy side however $$ well spent. My stomach was full by my heart wasnt content.

Halal meat is served here. Excellent Sunday Brunch here with almost every major Indo-Paki dish you can think of from Nihari, Paya, Haleem, Biriyani, CTM and everthing in between. Chai is complimentary and good here. Only thing is dont like is the $14 per person cost. Use to be $10 a few years ago. Limited parking in the lot, but street parking available. Plenty of seating inside.

“"Go to place for Burgers"” Its our "go-to" place for burgers and milk shakes (very thick) Friendly staff, feels like being with family. Also, busy and crowded. Parking is a challenge, but well worth it. Weve been going for years. Like an old-fashioned diner. Even met person while flying and they mentioned "Vals Burgers" from when they lived in area years ago. I was happy...

The rib eye steak here rivals most steakhouses for quality, tenderness and overall incredible flavor. The vegetable soup is always wonderful with the various large chunks of vegetables. If you can squeeze it in make sure you have a milk shake to accompany your meal. Although if you get the steak deluxe you might wanna share the milkshake because you get so much.
