I have driven by Buon Appetto a hundred times and last night finally had a chance to try them. It was about 8:15 pm and when we walked in, there were two available seats at the bar. The place was packed with several patrons behind us. After ordering a couple drinks we ordered the following: Fried Calamari 4 stars delicately battered and fried came with two sauces the red sauce was bland, the white one was a garlic aoili sauce. Very small portion. Beef Carpaccio 4 stars approximately 4 thin slices Very small portion served with arrugla and cheese Linguine Frutto De Mare 3 stars, a little bland , linguine was past Al Dente but plenty of seafood Spaghetti with meatballs 4.5 stars a special order thin spaghetti with just marinara sauce and meat balls. Pasta was Al Dente Bread comes with an tomato olive tapanade which was very good but what would have made it excellent would have been toasted bread The food took a long time to come out. Service was OK. Parking was easy with lots surrounding the restaurant.

I had heard a lot about this restaurant, so I tried it on Feb 23, 2008. Quite honestly, the food just isnt that Italian or that good. It is just okay. Bella Italia in San Leandro is far superior in both menu integrity and authentic Italian flavor. My wife had Chicken Marsala and I had the lasagna. Both were disappointments. The Chicken Marsala was overly sweet, which it shouldnt have been, and the lasagna was rather bland. Presentation was just average. Considering the menu prices, the food should have been much better. My wife had a salad with dinner while I opted for a lone glass of wine. One chicken dish, one salad, one pasta, and one glass of wine set us back $53.00. For half that price we could have gone to Bancheros on Mission Blvd and gotten a much better (and tastier) meal. And I am not even going to tell you how the cook tasted the meals he was preparing on the stove!

Not impressed. Bread was cold and not very good flavor. Dipping sauce was good but different. Chicken alfredo was not cool, chicken was grosse, sauce was flavorless. The best part about my experience here was the bread pudding! That was amazing. I only see myself returning to order some bread pudding to go! My date had lasagne which he enjoyed and it looked good but it was super meaty. If you want good Italian food, do yourself a favor and go around the corner to Acqua E Farina. UPDATE: I returned to order bread pudding to go and it was not worth it at all. I will not be returning to this restaurant for anything.

We were a party of seven. The service was friendly and as prompt as could be expected. One came late and her order was taken prepared and served promptly. The food was good but one of our group said it has declined. That it used to be top notch. It wouldve been quieter outside but it was too hot so we chose to eat inside. Unfortunately the restaurant didnt have the air conditioner on and it was uncomfortable inside. We had fun and enjoyed our time. Ill give it 3 and a quarter stars.

Cappuccino is good. The polenta con funghi is supreme. Buon Appetito pizza is very good. Carpaccio could be better (a better place for that would be Carpaccio across the bay in Menlo Park). Creme brulé is good. The bruschetta appetizer if also very good. Crestine con salmone affumicato is also very good. I believe the tiramisù is good as well but dont remember. The ground beef is sometime tasteless. In my opinion is the best Italian restaurant on this side of the bay.

Buon Appetito is a gem in Hayward. Not only is the ambiance quaint but the food is great. Located at the edge of Downtown Hayward parking may be a bit hard but dont forget to try behind the building as well. Food is great. Ive tried the Rib-eye, Pizza, various pastas and Im certain that Ive never been disappointed. Finally dont hold back on dessert. The Tiramisu here is great and made the right way. Pair it with some coffee and youre set.

My sister and I are here right now and we have been sitting here for an hour and have not received our entrees... First it took 30 minutes to get our glass of wine and coffee then it took another 20 minutes for our appetizers that take 5 minutes to prepare. The waitress never came over to apologize... The two men were the only ones that actually came up to our table and helped us.. And the girl at the front was the only one who apologized

Like an asian restaurant, great food combined with terrible service. We walked in, got seated, and waited,... and waited. Finally a guy with water came, poured, and left without saying a word. We waved the hostess over to ask for a waiter. She went to the cashier station, where several of them seemed to be having a staff meeting. Finally somebody came to take our order. But the food was great. I had the frutti de mare.

“Real Authentic Italian Food” Acqua e Farina is the place to go for authentic Italian food. I am of Sicilian descent and recently took my family there for lunch. Everyone was pleased with what they ordered. The pastas (Ravioli de Spinachi, Canneloni al Forno, and Capellini al Pomodoro) and the Gnocci della Casa were very good with great sauces. I enjoyed the Melanzane del...

Sooo tasty. I most especially love their dip and bread. It is this delicious concoction of garlic, olive oil, tomatoes, etc. Just eat it. Service was close to perfect (and he was pretty hot). the place is quiet enough to talk to your table, and enough noise to make it feel alive. I would go here again if I get the chance. Gnocchi has a great texture. Mmmm.

Calamari, Brochette, bread, house Cabernet Sauvignon wine and Champagne, Chicken Marsala and spumoni ice cream were all fabulous. The Grilled Salmon portions were large. The front of the building needs a face lift but the inside of the restaurant is very nice. Private Party taking 1/2 of the restaurant and the service and food was GREAT!

The service is really good, and the food was amazing. The pizza was really tasty. And the "Caesar salad" was amazing. The pastas were really good. Basically everything was great. We sat outside and they made sure that the sun wasnt hitting our face at any cost. The tiramisu was also very delicious. And the peach Italian soda was also good.

Boun Appatito is pleasure every time! Great food and service. A favorite for years. One reviewer wrote "the ground beef was tasteless", but why go Italian for hamburger? Salt to taste, not like Mac or BK. No sodium bombs here. I spent some time in Italy and this is the real deal.
