I used to eat here, regularly. My wife and I were at the bar with a few friends after hours, one last drink before heading to bed, we stayed at the connected hotel even though we live up the street (long story).... One of the servers mad a rude comment to me in passing, and I asked him to clarify. He got red faced and lost his cool, and called me something I will not repeat on this forum. I let him walk away without comment and asked for the manager, the manager was not there, big surprise. I spoke with the hotel manager about this situation, and the manager was apologetic but added he could not really do anything but report back to the restaurant manager. I never received an apology or a follow up call as I requested. I did not say this at the time, but we used to hold private parties, upstairs. We gave this place a bunch of business! No longer we will never be back nor will the parties we held, all because of a bad person! I can no longer recommend this restaurant to anyone, there are just to many options. I have noticed that the patronage has tapered off significantly, it sounds like I am not the only one that had this experience. PS: Hotel Manager was not helpful in the slightest, disappointing experience all around.

My sweetie and I stumbled upon this place after hearing Tuba Christmas. Decided to give it a try. After a prolonged wait for service, my sweetie ordered the cheese burger and I had the deluxe burger. We both ordered them cooked medium. They arrived charred on the outside and stone cold and bleeding on the inside. My sweetie sent hers back for further cooking. I havent ever sent anything back in my life so I tried to choke it down. Got about one half of it down. Couldnt finish. Asked the waiter to take it away. He apparently got the manager involved, which I didnt ask him to do. The manager removed my burger from the bill. The manager assured me that I wouldnt get ill. Didnt realize that things had gotten so tough that doctors are now managing diners

Terrible from the very beginning. The restaurant was slow and mostly empty due to bad weather. As the hostess lead us to our table she attempt to first seat us at a narrow table against the window. I asked if we could be moved to a different table since there was many spacious tables available. She was able to accommodate us, but with a attitude. Our first server than arrived taking our drink and meal orders. Shortly after she informed us that our table was going to be handed over a new waiter. Time passed and my coffee mug sat there empty as multiple wait staff passed by without saying a word. Eventually the food came only to be a greater disappointment. My boyfriend ordered the Chicken Fried Steak which came undercooked. We also both ordered fried/over medium eggs which both came out runny and undercooked. We waited about 5 minutes till I could even flag a waiter down. During all of this our "new waiter" still never showed. The silver lining in this was the manager. He handled the situation well and gave us our plates on the house.Even with the generosity of the manager I would not recommend or come back to this restaurant due to the snobby staff and the undercooked food.

This place is awful. I just wrote 6 paragraphs that google somehow didnt compute. Im not going to write it all again, because i dont care enough. i will mention the lowlights of the meal though: A pattern of underseasoning was disappointing. For the prices at this place, i was expecting well crafted food to come to our table. We sampled every item on the app menu, and it was one disaster after another with the dishes. 1. Over-smoked chicken wings with a water and feta "blue cheese" dressing. This dish is a conceptional failure 2. Chicken and Waffle sliders that tasted like nothing but raw rosemary. 3. Donut sliders that had unseasoned and overcooked beef. 4. Hot pockets were ok. not great, but ok 5. The worst poutine in town. The chefs seem to have very little idea of how to execute food. The worst part? All we wanted to do was spend a few more minutes with our dear out of town friends, but they turned the lights on bright and basically told us to get out. If i ever return to this place, i will have suffered a grand head injury and i should probably be taken to the ER.

What a difference a day makes. A party of 10 men went in on April 22nd. Food was amazing, service was great and we dropped well over $250 in 40 minutes. They were able to seat all of us together at a window table and it was great. We loved it sooooo much we wanted to go back. We were well behaved on Saturday, so Sunday made no since. When we arrived they told us we couldnt sit in the same place because that "zone" was closed. However they were serving people ON BOTH SIDES OF IT!!!!!!! They had to get a table ready so we sat down and a few ordered drinks. After 30 minutes (the restaurant was not busy,) they still hadnt gotten a table ready. Someone went and asked when the table would be ready and the manager told them, "when its ready." So he asked if they had an idea of time as we had a train to catch and then the manager said "I dont know, 10-20 minutes." WHAT????? We left and none of us will be back. The crew that was working on Saturday April 22, 2017 was awesome. The crew on the 23rd, lost business and none of us will ever go back.

Feel of the place is mod-50s-ish. Its setup like a traditional diner but with a cooler vibe and food a notch better than any diner Ive visited before. The staff is attentive and helpful, All three times I visited (dinner and two breakfasts) I was visited by more than just my server. I tried a number of different things. All of them came in large portions so I never left hungry, actually twice I didnt even finish what I was given (and it wasnt because I was disappointed with the food). Its a long narrow place with two person tables all along the windows giving customers a good place to people watch. They also have a place where you can drop your bags if you are on the move. Perfect on my last visit when I was walking to the train station. They also keep it clean, nothing turns me off faster to a place than sticky tables and there was none of that here. Is it hipster? Yeah, surprising that youd find that in downtown Portland? Nope. The folks who work there seem to know they are setup to be cool, which chills the cool a bit.

Unique Offerings. Helpful, Patient and Courteous Staff. The Dinerant offers some food choices not found at other restaurants. I like my Cheesecake plain, however, The Dinerant offers a Cranberry/Orange Cheesecake that tingled my palate, and I knew they served quality food here. I would say the variety is fair, as there are not many "total meal" choices, many Sammys and Burgers. However, with all the Sides and interesting Appetizers, one can create their own dinner from combining some personal choices and customizing. Everyone in our party thought that of all the "total meal" choices-Mushroom Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo was tops! Appetizers were all good, it was my first time trying Poutine and officially knowing it had a name, not just a concoction I have made at home. Delicious Poutine at this Restaurant. Many in our party enjoyed the donut burger, but I like my food and sweets separate, so I did not sample it. Give me linguine and cheesecake separate please, great coffee also.
