Seems like these days, more hip burger places keep popping out everywhere. Every "new" burger joint seems to have the same product as the neighbor burger joint, just under a different name. Burger bench seems to standout from the places Ive visited in the past. Not because its extravagant or one of a kind, but because its burgers combinations get straight to the point, kinda. On my menu was the Chorizo Diablo burger. Spicy chorizo, jalapeños, chipotle aioli, grilled peppers, and my fav ingredient, cream cheese! But aside from the burger tasting good, it disappointed me on the spicy side. Im not the snob guy that thinks nothing is spicy, but I can tell when something even has a hint of spicy in it. The most spicy thing from the burger, was the jalapeño with cream cheese that fell onto the plate. Aside from that, it was a good tasting burger. There soda selection is quite interesting and unique. Their sides (I ordered onion rings) are very good, and size is good enough for two people. Their beer selection is average but good, and can have classic beers that you may not see at other places anymore. Their prices may be a a little over the average burger joint, but their attempt on being unique may be all worth it. Give this place four stars just because their spicy chorizo Diablo burger failed at its main attraction. I can def say Ill visit again soon.

Stopped by this place on our way home to Los Angeles and we are glad we did. The burgers were delicious and looked great. They really went the extra mile to give each burger special, individualized attention. I had the Diablo which had a very good spice and heat. My wife has the Sunrise which tasted great with the fried egg. Our son had a slider which looked like a mini version of our meals. Do not forget to get their Truffle Parmesan Tater Tots which is probably their best side dish. The onion rings were the best Ive had in awhile. Of course, you can never go wrong with the fries. For drinks, they offer Stubborn Soda and the Vanilla Cream was the best. Service was fast and very friendly. They brought our food out and genuinely asked if we needed anything else, unlike some places that ask and seem inconvenienced when you actually ask for something. They even came out later to see how things were going even though we were the only ones sitting outside on the patio. This is what made this place stand out the most. Once we tasted our food, we called our family who lives in town to tell them about it. Will definitely visit again.

I think Burger Bench has some of the best burgers and sides around, not to mention a killer craft beer selection (all local to the San Diego area). The owners have put a LOT of thought and consideration into every aspect of their restaurant and it shows. I was lucky enough to attend a soft opening and try out their Bench Burger (freshly-made juicy patty, bleu cheese, bacon, caramelized onions, greens, and their intriguing "bench" sauce), tater tots (I got it plain and even without the truffle salt it was crispy, tasty and satisfying), onion rings (also wonderfully crispy and non-greasy), mini corn dogs (yummy--kids and adults will love them), and a little nibble of their black bean patty burger (very flavorful and satisfying for a vegetarian burger). They also have a vegan gluten-free bun (made locally and surprisingly good) for those who want that option. Theyre definitely still a work in progress but I think theyre off a great start and I hope that youll give them a shot if youre in the area!

If you ever find yourself in Escondido, you have got to try this place!!! This is a hip and modern burger joint/bar with a simple menu that packs quite a punch on your taste buds. During my visit, I decided to try the black bean burger with added bacon and lord, this was delicious!!! As a veggie connoisseur, I am picky about the way they are seasoned and this was seasoned to perfection! Not too salty or overly flavorful. The truffle parmesan fries were also delicious, enough to share between two people. My friend ordered the tater tots and he was happily satisfied as well! As for drinks, they offer local natural sodas, iced tea, Izze, Apple juice, draft beer, milkshakes, and water. If you have kids, this place is also kid-friendly as they have kid options. Lunch is a good time to visit if you dont want to wait too long and just want to grab a bite to eat. Definitely a good place to stop by after a day at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park or a trip to the mall!

Burger Bench has delicious sandwiches! It is located across the street from the Farmers Market, so I visit every week. First visit, I had their burger which was juicy and cooked perfectly. Topped with bacon and avocado had me hooked. They have a bar with craft beer and there is also a soda machine. At the second visit, I had a veggie melt sandwich which oozed some of the best cheese ive tasted. Several grilled cheese combinations are on the menu, and I plan to try them all. Parking on the street has always been easy. This is a casual place where you order at the cash register and find your own seating. You can choose indoor or outdoor tables. Prices are quite reasonable.

I give this place 5 Stars 4 service and being very friendly and good casual food. I went there with a group of friends from mens ministry and never been because he was very helpful what I might like what I should try and he was right on the burgers are very very good the mini corn dogs were amazing. Some of the other guys had chili and they really enjoyed it. They have heaters on the outside part patio keep you warm in the cold nice and cozy even though it was cold outside. I would definitely go back youll enjoy this place its very casual and very open lots of families were there try it out its worth making the trip to Escondido my hometown. I love this place

A very unique little burger joint in an otherwise unassuming Main Street USA. That was actually the only weird part, is that this place feels out of place with its surroundings as the obvious new kid on the block. We found this place after asking the bartender at Stone where shed go for a burger; she recommended this place. Were glad we took her up on her suggestion! Very unique slider flavors, we loved every one of them. Amazing beer list (but most places have that, as this is San Diego beer country).

My wife and I were looking for a new burger place and we found this. We ordered truffle tots. I ordered the Bench Burger. The flavor was incredible. The slight bitterness of the arugula balanced the sweetness of the BBQ sauce perfectly. The burger patty was crisp...And so delicious. The truffle fries also the best tater tots that Ive ever had. Everything thing here is fresh. I will definitely come back again, and bring others as well.

Perfect addition to downtown Escondido. This burger spot has delicious burgers, natural (read no high fructose corn syrup) soda, a nice selection of beers on tap. All of it responsibly priced and set in a freshly remodeled space. I can recommend the bench burger, with its bacon and mushrooms paired with some tater tots. The kids had sliders and the wife even tried out the tasty chicken Caesar salad. Nicely done Burger Bench.
