Sci-Fi Geek Port!! Great Coffee and Baked Goods ( heated in an actual Toaster Oven) Galactic Artificats adorn this astounding modern ode to all that is sacred in Science Fiction and PINBALL - 6 (ahem, modern) pinball machines (old school pinball does not have LED displays) - all this with eclectic pop rock synthco music, bathrooms are immaculate clean and feature a map of universe complete w Bajoran Wormhole locations! If you find yourself in Emmeryville on a Saturday morning there is no better place to be!! May the force be with you

Scarlet City coffee has ruined me for life -- and I mean that in the best way possible. Simply put, the coffee is nothing short of a miracle elixir. Im such a fan that I have my coffee shipped to me in Pittsburgh. Although I can find some good coffee in the burgh, nothing compares to the high quality and integrity of Scarlet City beans. Not to mention, I truly respect Scarlet Citys commitment to purchasing beans from small, women-owned farms -- it feels really good to support a mission-based for-profit company.

Learned of Scarlet City 2 years ago via Groupon and have been a big fan ever since. I am now retired but I had the good fortune to travel because of my job. Have had coffees from Norway, Sweden, UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Central America. This by far is the best coffee I have ever tasted, and that includes the Kona coffees and Jamaican Blue Mountain. Youve spoiled me, Scarlet City. Keep up the great product. Con amore, Giacomo

This place is awesome. Really tasty coffee and a unique, open, and comfortable atmosphere. You can tell that the owners put a lot of themselves into the cafe in the best way. The only problem is that their hours are a bit short. I also wish they had wifi during the daytime, but I understand why they dont. If only they stayed open 3 hours later so I could grab a beer after dinner!

very cute venue. They do beer as well as coffee which I love if you are no dairy like me, youll be interested to know that their only non dairy milk option is oatmilk. Thier site swears they tried everything and this is definitely the best position for coffee. Tried it and I totally agree with them. +Has board games +lots of seating +cute/unique location

The best coffee in the Bay Area, perhaps the best coffee Ive ever had. The owners are welcoming. And the wheelchair access is excellent. They have a sweet interior ramp to connect the two levels. The science fiction theme is great fun (check out the intergalactic transportation map in the bathroom.)

This cafe doesnt have outdoor seating only inside. Never been to a cafe that have several old school to modern pinball machine. In case you run out of quarter theres a change machine provided. They also have monthly tournament that you can sign up in advance took play on event day.

Excellent espresso drinks. No drip coffee available, just an americano style. Also they do not carry bagels or toasted bread. The seating is a bit spartan. No WiFi available, that I could find. There is construction in the block, so parking is tight.

First time here and the lady who helped me was very sweet and helpful. I loved the funky feel of the place , thought it was unique and different from the rest! Im not from this city but when I come to visit I will definitely stop by again!

Got an oat-milk mocha that was probably the best mocha Ive had in a while. Not too sweet, great flavor. Weve used their beans for a while for home brewing, and theyre always great.
