We tried to have breakfast at Village Pizza Sunday morning. I say that we "tried" to have breakfast at Village, because we ordered breakfast, then waited, and waited, and waited! It took the cashier 40 minutes to prepare a latte. Ultimately, when customers who arrived after we did were served, we told the waiter. He said "things in the kitchen got tangled up" and that our food would be out soon. We noticed that there was only one waiter handling the entire restaurant. The restaurant was woefully understaffed for Sunday morning breakfast. The cashier told us, "we didnt anticipate this many customers, with school starting and all." (Hmmm, seems to me that everyone in Davis knows when the undergrads return to town.) At long last, our food arrived, but it was cold. I can eat many kinds of food cold, but not scrambled eggs. We told the waiter the food was cold. He appeared to be at a loss, and offered to re-heat our food. We decided to give up. By that time, we had been there for well over an hour. The cashier did refund the cost of our meal (incredibly, after asking us to wait for him to process the refund). The best part of the morning was after we left Village Pizza and went to Ali Baba for breakfast burritos. Ali Babas breakfast burritos are excellent. They were prepared quickly and arrived hot. Ali Baba is much better managed than Village Pizza. We highly recommend it. Village Pizza? Not so much.

Sorry kind of lengthy but youll need to be aware of this situatuon that occured on Saturday June 3, 2017 at around 7:20pm. We ordered a small pizza for pick up here in Davis we live 3 blocks away from Village Pizza & Grill our pizza wasnt hot upon pick up but because they were busy I brought it home realizwing that our pizza was luke warm. Called and spoke with a man and he stated that if we brought the pizza back they can reheat it again for us and that their sorry! I said did I hear this correctly you offered to reheat our pizza? He said, yes! That was insane and unacceptable to offer a paying customer. We decided to go because they had the best pizza in town with thick crust found out thats no longer an option as well they offer thin crust we decided to take our money to "Blaze Pizza" and we build our own and it only cost about $8. We will not be returning to Village Pizza and Grill anymore were good elsewhere.

I have come here now and then for five years. Recently I have come more often as other places in Davis have closed or have declined in quality of food and service. Due to price, I cant come that often, and I order sparingly when I do. But, my daughter and I love it, and while the pizza, burgers, salads, and appetizers that I have tried over the years have all been very good, my favorite thing is the Herb Stew. This is a dish that refuels me. When Im feeling out of balance and I need something substantial, delicious, and nutritious (like something I would make at home but am sometimes too tired to make), I come here and order this. I am happy this place exists. Also, I have noticed a reviewer who said negative things about the service, but I have always had wonderful and kind service here.

Sad that our large group of 30 soccer players and parents had to sit outside in the cold and rain when we were originally promised the banquet room upstairs. Luckily the plastic pulldown windows and space heaters kept us generally warm, but unluckily for some that they had to eat at a separate table around the corner. Our chicken pizza and house salad were delicious, but our son thought the pepperoni pizza was just ok. Another parent complained he had to return his Persian dish because the meat was to dry, but the house was very accommodating about letting him substituting a combo pizza instead. The beer selection seemed pretty good and I particularly enjoyed the local Sudwerk DIPL. In general, the staff was very good, but they seemed to be severely understaffed.

A good option for pizza in Davis, especially in good weather when the outside patio would be the place to be. Inside, the walls contain small pieces of art that are available for sale. Ingredients for the pizza are fresh and the options are good. The crust is really for those who like it thin and without anything that competes with the toppings for attention. The Greek Pizza was the favorite at our table where we tried multiple options from the menu. They also had a reasonable selection of drinks on tap and in bottles.

We tried Village pizza on a thursday night and it was absolutely fantastic. We ordered pizza and I can honestly say it was some of the best pizza I have ever had. More of a fine dining type of restaurant and a great choice if you want a relaxing delicious dinner. We showed up around closing time and the staff was still unbelievable friendly and kind. A similar style restaurant to like a chicago fire.

This is a really great place to take your family and friends and enjoy a warm summers evening meal out on the patio. The Pizzas are great - the rest of the menu is pretty standard faire, and the service is friendly. The ambiance is really nice - where theyve taken an old house and really fixed it up well. So with good value, food, service and ambiance this is a winner for Davis!

My friends always choose this venue for their birthdays and I cannot understand why. The ambiance is decent, but the food is not worth it and the service is subpar. I also think the $2 per person cake cutting fee is ridiculous. But I suck it up anyways since I dont want to be the downer on my friends birthdays. I can only hope and pray that they choose better birthday venues...

We dropped in as a large group without reservations and it was handled well. The food was good but we were very disappointed in the service. They automatically charge 18% gratuity which is normal for good service but they did not perform. So we paid the tip grudgingly. It left a bad taste since there are so many good places to eat in Davis.

I went on a weekend and even though it was later in the day they were serving breakfast until 2 which was a nice surprise. Debated between the french toast and the make your own scramble and decided on the scramble. The eggs were cooked well but the best part were the country style potatoes on the side.

Worst falafel I have ever eaten. I needed a cigarette after this meal to get the bad taste out of my mouth. They charge an automatic 18 percent gratuity when the service is so bad that they should give a discount on the bill.

This pizza joint serves up good food and some unique pizza creations. I was pleased with the food I ate and would go again. The pizza served here is way healthier (i.e. not greasy) than most big-chain pizzerias.

Really good pizza and an ok selection of craft beers. The prices are a bit on the high side but that probably has more to due with the laws and regulations that are killing great eateries like this.
