We live in the East Foothills about a two and a half hour drive to Kour Thai. We were meeting friends from the Valley and we arrived late in the evening. As we were being seated, we were asked what we would like to drink and of anything special. We just handed the server our menus and said we would like to sample the House Entrée. We no sooner began trying the different Thai beers, when the food started coming. Besides the tantalizing aroma, each dish was an artistic work of art.Yet, only preceded by the explicit taste of crisp fresh ingredients and perfectly prepared to authentic Thai. Being served by smiling, happy people at the end of a long day. The stuffed chicken wings is a gift to a discerning palate, the essence of lemon grass in the fresh Spring Rolls with peanut sauce.... and they kept coming. I knew I had let my eagerness for taste surpass the capacity of full, but the late drive home was filled with live conversation and energy. Not only did we find Kour Thai an exquisite restaurant, in a modest setting, but what a short drive it is, when the destination is worth arriving.

Authentic Thai food! We ventured down the road from our resort in Nice to eat here. We immediately had very prompt and personal service. The owner waited on us and when we ordered the spring rolls she went back into the kitchen and rolled them up fresh! They were so good! The entrees were fabulous! Fresh and full of flavor. We had some great conversations with the other patrons, who were locals of the area. We had a wonderful time! They have a good selection of local wines and Thai beer too, all priced very well!

When the restaurant first opened the food was outstanding - as was the service. We have returned many times. In the last year the quality has deteriorated. Last visit we were the ONLY people in the restaurant and the food took forever to arrive. When it did arrive everything tasted the same - kind of like bad Chinese food. I wont spend any more money eating at the Kour Thai.

This is my favorite restaurant in Clearlake. The food is as good as what I was used to in San Francisco, which I did not expect to find here in the county of Lake. There is even a sushi menu, which is limited, but always fresh and delicious. And the owners are really nice people who live in and support the community.

The original location is now a different Thai restaurant. I agree with Suzanne that the food and service at the restaurant in the old location is quite bad. Kour Thai has moved to a lakeside location two blocks south at 6269 E Highway 20. The quality and freshness of the food at Kour Thai is as high as ever.

Liked the view of Clear Lake across the parking lot. Food was too conservative on flavor and spice, overpriced for small serving size. Also, did not note or make bill clear when gratuity was already included but not listed on our bill, feel cheated into giving another tip.
