I came here for dinner with my girl to try something different that we dont normally do. This place is small but feels very alive and full of soul. Their menu is not huge but what I did see on it sounded great. The two ladies working behind the counter were very sweet. My girl ordered a chicken Kabob Sandwich and I ordered the gyros platter and an iced coffee. It didnt take long for our food to be ready. When I took first glance at my platter I thought, damn this looks delicious. Well, I was right. The lamb/beef was tender and juicy. The rice was tender and plentiful. And the tzatziki was smooth, cool and just phenomenal. Finally, there was cut up vegetables seasoned to perfection that when I mixed everything together there was so much flavor fighting for my attention I didnt know what to do. So, I ate everything. Even the bread that came with my meal was soft and brought the meal together like a traditional gyros. My girls chicken Kabob burger was scrumptious too. A soft bun smothered in that delicious tzatziki sauce with onions, tomatoes and chunks of tender chicken. Everything was delicious, including my iced coffee. Its a little pricey but no joke I feel that it was worth it.

Order cold or hot Green or Regular Chai for any first timer. Get it "dirty" if you need a wake up call. During the Holiday season order Eggnog Chai. The Rooibos Chai with a hint of vanilla is superb. On a non chai day order White Mocha Latte with a hint of Raspberry. Alternative milk suggestions: Almond Milk and Breve. The Wildberry Smoothie is the best counter from caffeinated drinks. Peta Bread with humus is a wonderful. Save those dollar bills to get more bread from the leftover humus. A main dish to select would be the Mediterranean Sandwich --- very much the veggie version of a sloppy joe --- it gets everywhere, in a good way. Dont forget your Cafe Rumi Card. Gets a little hectic during after school hours. Just lots of kids and traffic. Not their fault. Keep in mind that this a coffee shop and not a restaurant. Be a fellow and leave plates above the trash dispensers before leaving.

This place is terrific! I placed an order for pick-up and Im glad I did! The Eggplant platter with Basmati rice and cucumber/tomato salad was absolutely delicious! Topped with yogurt and a container of jalapeno cilantro proved to be the optimum choice to compliment the dish. I say Im glad I called ahead because Cafe Rumi was packed! Deservedly so, and even though there were 2 people ahead of me to order my food - which was all ready to go - was still hot and perfect! I was here once before for a lamb/beef gyro and it was everything I hoped it was and more! I will most certainly come here again; in fact, my next quest is a breakfast dish and some Turkish coffee (not necessarily in that order). I hope Cafe Rumi continues to do well - the service is great, the prices are reasonable, and the food is excellent!

First time visiting this afternoon. Just got a gyro, since I was craving it. (Oh, and a smoothie, but hey, smoothies are smoothies). I dont have much to say about decor or anything. I walked in, ordered my stuff, and walked out to enjoy the nice weather. Though there wasnt a lot of veggies piled on top of the thing, the lamb I got was pretty darn delicious. The bread was barely foldable with all the tomato, onions, and meat inside. Tzatziki oozed out the sides as I greedily attempted to lap it up. I deeply regret that the gyros gone now, I sure couldve gone for another one if it hadnt found its way into my stomach. Ill be sure to come back and give something else a try.

Pink chai. Nutella hot chocolate. Beef gyro. And that yogurt sauce-- omg. So much more to recommend but these are my must haves. Ive been coming here for years, the service is excellent, they really treat you like family. And their food is always consistently excellent. That yogurt sauce though-- sooo addicting, dip their fries in it, dip your gyro in it, its something else. And their drinks, I never know which one to go with so I usually drink one in house and take the other to go. Well worth the drive out to Hayward from Fremont, Ive even braved it in the rain just for my pink chai fix

The pink chai is so....pink! Its like a rose-mauve color. I have never seen anything like it! It also tasted quite delicious, not overly sweet but instead full of complex flavors of cinnamon and other spices. And it had a creamy, velvety texture. Probably not light on the calories, but it was worth it. I also think it had quite a bit of caffeine in it though, which I was not expecting, because I had some trouble falling asleep that night. Will have to come back to try the food, it looks like theres a lot of yummy options.

They have good Chair Lattes and I am a regular. Recently they employed a young girl who only cares about her work when other employees are around . I came when she was the only one. She gave me my chai latte that was spilling all over and instead of fixing it she handed it to me and I said its sticky and all dripping she said oh just wipe it there. Umm okay!! Ive had better experiences here but this last one was just not okay. Shows how employees can truly make or break a small local business.

I love walking into this cafe. I instantly smile once I am inside . The decor colors, friendly staff and childrens toy corner put a happiness in my heart everytime I go. The lavender latte is my norm and the food is amazing. Oh, and then the flourless chocolate freshly baked cake is one of the best in my opinion. Its any an part of your day happiness cafe.

The Saffron Chicken was absolutely ridiculous. Soooooooo good! You have to order it! The Gyros were so-so, more like Trader Joes meatballs. But, the Saffron Chicken!!! The staff was a little "meh" but the middle-Eastern aesthetic was fun. There is also a little corner with a few toys and a tiny armchair for kids!

Loved the chicken gryo platter. It was delecious! I miss having salad in a bowl instead they serve it on a plate (its hard to manage it there). But apart from that, the service was great. Can also recommend bear claws and chocolate cake (order this one on its own, cause you wont be able to finish it otherwise).

The food was ok, but doesnt compare to the quality or flavor of the Mediterranean restaurants weve tried on the Peninsula. Slow service. We were extremely disappointed in the Pink Chai. I dont even know what it was. Not a pleasant flavor at all.

Great food, polite staff but they were not always loud or clear on calling out orders so some got their food picked up quick others had to ask if stuff on the passover was theirs.

Extremely inviting place with delicious, smooth, deep, dark roast coffee. I can tell the gyro I ordered along with it is going to be delicious. Very friendly counter service too!
