Id been to Cafe Jolie a couple times, but I just had the worst experience eating out around here I can remember. I certainly dont revel in posting negative reviews but I feel like I have to for this. 1. We didnt get our coffee and juice until after the meal came out, we watched as 20 minutes passed, with other tables getting their meals. No apology from the red headed waitress, what did I expect service? 2. My partner ordered a soup which was forgotten entirely. 3. There was a literal spider in my eggs. 4. The bacon was a burned jerky mess, I could do better, and usually do. 5. The meal came out cold, and Ive felt sick all day, its like I offended them and they were getting payback lol, and for 45 dollars out of my pocket. I honestly wonder if the problem was that two guys were sitting down to brunch together, I mean its horrible to say, but I really wonder, it was awful in every single way I can think of. Never going back.

Wasnt even able to get a seat. The hostess said it would be 20 minutes for three people. When it had been 20 minutes we asked how much longer, hostess said just one party was ahead of us. In the end we waited 40 minutes and she had seated 4 parties of 2 and 1 party of 3 between those last 20 minutes. When I informed her that she could take our name off the list since we had been waiting so long, now 40 minutes she just shrugged and said ok. Didnt even try to accommodate or apologize or see if a table was almost ready. I really wish we wouldve gotten in. The food looked so delicious.

Tried it at the recommendation of a few people. Service was efficient but not friendly. Crab Cake benedict was lacking something to cut the richness of the entire dish. The Monte Cristo wasnt hot all the way through but the quality of the bread somewhat made up for it. Coffee was good. With multiple entrances and multiple service counters, dont expect to be acknowledged unless you come through the Webster St. entrance. If you dont youll be ignored and then once you do manage to grab someones attention youll be pointed curtly to the front desk. Probably wont go back

Location is good, and food and service are great. I got Le Med omelet and banana walnut pancake and shared them with my girlfriend. Omelet portion was smaller than usual but tasted delicious and potatoes was perfect, pancakes were very well made and staff were very friendly. Dont go there if you are in a hurry though. We had to wait 15 minutes on a weekend for brunch and waited even longer for food after ordering. Thats my only complain otherwise this is 5 star place. Would definitely recommend it.

Dinner selection is lacking but I commend that night service team and their willingness to adapt to our choices. We decided we didnt like the selection of cheese for their burgers but really felt like a gourmet burger and asked if they could use their plated cheeses like brie instead. They checked and were more than happy to oblige. Great place for breakfast and lunch but they need to improve their dinner selections for me to come back. Loved the service, was ok with the food.

Hilariously awful service today. It is as though our waitress sought to emulate her experience of being neglected at a Parisian cafe. Bottomless coffee, only in theory. Ketchup, only if you insist -- and perhaps not even then. Pleasantries like "How was everything?" for every table but yours. The food, I should point out, is delightful enough to bring us back, as I dont take poor service personally. Hopefully she did the same when there was no tip, another homage to Paris.

We already knew how solid lunch and breakfast are here. Now there is also dinner. Classic French-American food, i.e. predictable menu (think baked salmon, beef pot roast, steak frites, mussels, escargots), flawlessly executed. Reasonable prices ($20 - $25 per entree) given good quality ingredients and white table cloth ambiance. Service was sometimes a bit awkward, but sincerely friendly. On a Saturday night, there was subtle live music. Will definitively go back!

Disappointing. Omelette way over-cooked after explicitly requesting otherwise; spicing on eggs and potatoes uninspired; coffee not particularly flavorful. Wait staff friendly and attentive. Outdoor seating was nice. In short, nice staff and table, but tasted like mediocre American diner food after expecting French-inspired cooking, which at $34 plus tip for breakfast (omelette, eggs & 2 coffees) was simply not worth it.

20 minute wait to be seated. Took awhile for our server to finally greet us and begin taking orders. Crab cakes eggs benedict was great. Atmoshere was nice. I think what bothers me the most is the level of service. Staff was polite, but never got a refill and took the server forever to finally take our orders after already waiting 20 minutes to be seated.

Ive given this place three tries and wont be going back any time soon. The first time my food was mediocre, my tea cup was dirty and cracked, and the service took a long time. The second time the service was better and my food was great, but my companions food was mediocre. The third time the service took forever and my food was completely undercooked.

So I have a thing for "French" Cafes and restaurants, therefore I love the décor and the feel of this place. The food selection is wonderful and everything Ive had so far has been pretty great. The staff is friendly, and I find myself going in again and again to get the excellent discount on day-old pastries. Also, they have strong coffee, yay!

Service was awesome, coffee was great (didnt need cream or sugar), my group shared the beignet full platter and it was too much for an appetiser, but we didnt order too much food since we werent hungry. Hollandaise is made in house and crab cake benedict was 10/10! Another friend got the Jolies mix with French toast that was spot on.

Cafe Jolie is a super dog friendly restaurant. I love sitting in their patio area with my dog. They bring your dog a bowl of water on warm days. Their breakfast, sandwiches and salad are very good. I really like their potato salad, so I usually order it on the side. Another thing that stands out is their strong coffee.

A decent option for an Alameda brunch. Cafe Jolie offers a pretty wide variety of brunch options and the staff is very friendly. My only gripes are the toast options they offer, and the forgetful nature of the staff ( I was abandoned for about 15 min waiting for a staff member) otherwise its a decent place.

Excellent French food. Great location in Alameda on one of the two main commercial streets. Always a wait on the weekends, parking can be ok or a challenge depending if its a weekend. decor is pleasing with very nice artwork, staff is excellent. Try the croque madame.

Great service and food. Cozy atmosphere and nice outside seating for breakfast or brunch on a sunny day. Staff is very attentive and friendly. Food never disappoints. It is always a pleasure to come here. The wait is worth it on the weekends.

Food was tasty and service was good, just took a bit longer than Id like to actually arrive and was definitely very pricey for what they actually offered. Presentation was also great, but not a place Id go to regularly given the high price tag.
