Im confused by all the glowing reviews here. The last two times we have been in, each about a month apart the food and service have been sub par. The restaurant has replaced the old, sticky, nasty tabletops with a granite style top but its still the same food and service. Example from Wednesday 5/3/17 - seated and waited on. Drink and appetizer order given to waitress 10 minutes later the 2 waters arrived. I ordered a chicken teriyaki for my daughter and I ordered 2 California rolls. Chicken came under cooked. And was sent back. California rolls came and they were warm. Hmmm. Warm. Sent back. Waited, waited chicken came back, California rolls came back. Appetizer arrived. Dont get me wrong, this is not a slam on a single bad service. This is consistently the level of service you get here. Drive 5 minutes north and go to Cho Cho Sans. its worth it.

i was so looking forward to getting some sushi at Yamato last weekend, until i got there and it was absolutely awful. The fish was not fresh, the rolls not well made, the presentation was half ass, and the drink i got tasted like syrup. I have gone to this place for a long time and have been very satisfied. Sushi is not cheap anywhere, but it was always nice to know that this place was a sure thing to get an excellent meal at a fair price, However, sometime in the last months this place has gone in the toilet. I am very unhappy with the downslide this place has gone on and the acceptance of mediocrity strikes again. I think a little more attention to detail would be nice, and if there is a next time I am going to make the waitress drink my drink and see how she likes it. I still have the taste of syrup in my mouth. Ughhhhhhhh!!

I have tried this restaurant 3 times in 2 years. I have had the same horrible experience each time. 3 times your out! This place is always flithy. Tables, chairs, and floors are not properly cleaned. They pack you in like sardines, and rush to get you out. Are they even following health and fire codes? The restaurant itself needs a complete make over and a new staff. The ventalation is very bad as well. The food is no better. The sushi is always too warm. As if its been sitting and or premade, and not refrigerated! This is a sign of bad management! Dont waste your time.

Been coming here for over 15 years. And this place has steadily gone down hill. Havent been for a while, just decided to try it again, ordered the filet mignon teppan style, and was disappointed again. Terrible meat, tasted like low grade sirloin.. only reason I gave it 3 stars is the fried rice was so good and service was decent and quick and friendly. Otherwise, worse experience food wise so far.

Been there twice. First time I was ok but tonight I had the teppan yaki (table cooking) and I am defintely suffering from the effects of MSG toxcity syndrome. Im not that sensitive to MSG but they must have really put a hefty dose in because Im feeling shortness of breath, swollen eyes, nerve pain. In all my 32 years of life Ive never felt this bad. MSG should be banned from the earth.

Yamatos sushi is amazing at an affordable price. The atmosphere is great! Right to your left as you walk it, is a giant koi pond also containing two turtles to entertain young kids! This has been my favorite Japanese restaraunt for at least five years now. Its also great for younger couple trying to eat sushi on an affordable price.

this place needs a good cleaning, especially the bathrooms, broken toilet seats etc. Management what are you doing ! this is a restaurant where people are eating, everything should be clean and its not. Where are the inspectors. I love the service at the sushi bar, just santitize the place before people get sick !

Its past its prime and seen much better days. Its ok for a semi cheap lunch but there are better options. Rolls are loose and have been the last 3 visits. Rock shrimp used to be fantastic as an app. This visit we ordered and it didnt come until we were nearly finished. My last visit to this one.

The Décor could use some updating, the place could defiantly use a deep cleaning … Although the grill and the hood were clean … the seating and floors were filthy! … The service was pleasant and the food was good. For the price I would have expected a much cleaner place.

We used to go to this place 2-3 times a week great service and food . One day we were sitting at the bar and we saw a roach crawling on the bar where our food is. so sad but that is the end of it. I will not go back to this place ever again

Excellent Sushi! The bamboo sides around booth has a unique feel. Option to buy half a roll allows you to try more rolls from the menu. Overall an great place to eat sushi.
