To simply get to the issue, aside from the burgers which I very much enjoy, I really need to point out some key problems with this establishment. Customer Service: So on my lunch break I decided to go to The Habit for their guac+onion burger. I enjoy the burger immensely and wanted to get the crunchy tasty onion rings to go with it. Stepping up the counter I was greeted cordially by a young woman. This is where my nice story ends. This woman was fine with everything I ordered and took them diligently and quickly. I, however, was shocked to find that my burger was 5.75$ and my total was 10.84$ with onion rings and a drink. When I quickly asked why the difference was so high, I was told "Well, do the math..." Really? You insult the customer with that pathetic of a response? Why should anyone pay an additional 5+ dollars for additions to the 5.75$ burger meal? Has The Habit never heard of a combo meal? Seriously? Get on it. Ignoring the initial displeasure, I then tried to hand the young woman back the cup she gave me for the soda I no longer wanted. She refused to take the cup. Looking up at her questioningly I was told this. "You might as well take it. I was just going to throw it away because YOU touched it." Someone fire this employee. Do not think it is beyond me, a man who has worked in restaurants for over 4 years, that the company SHOULD throw away a cup touched/used by someone. HOWEVER, do not for a second think it is alright to blatantly harasses and denounce a customer for doing so. If the young woman had simply taken the cup and thrown it away I wouldnt be writing this review, but no. Piss poor people are put in situations that force them into contact with other human beings. Also, I really dont care how bad her day was. The employee should be reprimanded and the company needs to take fault for her actions. Go to The Habit and enjoy their good tasty burgers. Do not go to The Habit to enjoy anything else. Also, be prepared to pay AT MINIMUM 5+ dollars for any "combo" meal including one of their specialty burgers.

Today I had a GREAT experience with Jesus and your staff at the (960 N. 54TH STREET CHANDLER, AZ 85226) location. I am not sure if this is the correct place to submit feedback at but I will also be posting my appreciation on Instagram, yelp and google as well. Me and my wife have been wanting to try your food for quite some time, We had long since had your food previously in California(loved it back then) some years ago and decided again to try it in Arizona. We place an order for our Santa Barbara style burger and char burger meals and was greeted very professionally by the young lady behind the counter(I wish I remembered her name). She then proceeds to take our order all the while thanking us for being here today, (she and the staff gave us a feeling as if we were owners of this place) I couldnt believe how excellent the food tasted. I remember it being good but not this good. Then came the gentleman Jesus that took the extra above and beyond step and welcomed us when we sat down at the table. He was very friendly and sparked up funny conversations, almost to give us the unmistakable feeling that we were friends before customers. The customer service here was...I dont know what words to use because it is something we have never experienced before. If I had to use words, Immaculate, personal, kind, perfect, amazing, one of a kind, gracious, delightful, and fun. To be completely honest, this is an experience that my wife and our soon to be child will be discussing for years to come and if we ever have any bad experiences in the future with your establishment, we would still not be lost as a customer due to the amazing treatment that your staff has provided for us today. I wish you and your company many successes in the future and will continue to forever appreciate your great culinary delicacies.

Theres nothing like a good burger, and this place does it the best! Seriously, I cannot recommend this place enough. It is by far my favorite burger place. First of all I love the fact that they make burgers exactly how I like them (lettuce, onion, tomato, bacon, cheese, mayo, and ketchup). Another thing I love is that even though I get the same thing almost every time I go in, they do have an interesting enough menu that there are plenty of other items I would like to try (or other items that my wife or anyone else I bring with me might want). I honestly think their menu could be studied and analyzed because it is so perfect (not only do they have perfect fries, and AMAZING onion rings, they also offer sweet potato fries and tempura green beans). The menu is just so simple and easy to explore, while still offering some variety (unlike In n Outs famously simplistic menu). The other great quality about the menu is the way that everything is priced. On the one hand, you dont get a deal for getting the meal with the burger drink and fries, on the other hand, you dont get charged any exta if you dont want the soft drink. Its just such a perfect place. I could go on, but i think Ive ranted enough. This place is the perfect burger joint when you factor in the price, the menu, the burger, the fries, the onion rings, and the ambiance.

I just left there. Biggest disappointment ever! The French fries were downright soggy. I tried to place an online order only to get an error message each time I tried to order the Tri-tip sandwich so I called ahead to avoid waiting when I got there. I was advised it would be cooked to a "thin line of pink" according to the online "server" but what I got was so raw I couldnt stomach it. I asked for barbecue sauce on the side but the meat was drenched with it. I had to ask for the drink that was ordered with my meal before I could get a cup. The server picked up the receipt at that time and never gave it back. I took the sandwich back and after waiting for it to be re-cooked got a well done cm thin piece of meat vs. the original that was raw but about 1/3" thick. As I ate I looked for my receipt only to discover the server never gave it back to me so I asked for it. She said the receipt was thrown away and they just took out the garbage. She called their "call center" and after about 10 minutes told me there was no way to replace it but I should have gotten a confirmation. I asked, "What confirmation? Your online system wouldnt work!" She just shrugged. Dont waste your time or money!!!!

Burgers are exceptional - for me better than Smashburger and waaay better the In n Out. Service great at Market Street but in Tempe - other than part-timer Kristin, the customer service is only fair. Okay, Habit Management: I love your malts but dont like the whipped cream topping - first, there is way too much if it. So when I say no whip most everybody (I wont name the exceptions) says "we cant add more ice cream to top off the cup." That is ridiculous! You have great food and you cant afford to give a full size malt portion when there is no whip? I was eating at least one burger a day - sometimes two - but today I went to Whataburger. See, food is only part of the equation, but its not all of it. Habit management, I suggest to inject some of the spirit of customer service displayed by In n Out. That sort of nonsense would never happen there. They put the customer first. Now, at Market Street they are better, but it still takes time for the counter person to check with someone to get a malt topped off, all in the hush hush so no one notices! Its not like you have cheap malts, so at least be willing to employ a little give and take.
