I so very much want to love this place, it couldnt be more convenient - I work on the 7th floor of the building where RTB is located. But I simply cannot deny my repeated bad experiences with their service, and every one of my co-workers have similar stories. Just a few weeks ago my co-worker sat at a table, making eye contact with every employee in there, and waited nearly 30 minutes before someone asked if he needed some help. Ive had my fair share of messed up and forgotten orders, but this was the last straw. I stood in line behind an individual who was having a difficult time deciding what she wanted, and while she quizzed the check-stand girl about each and every menu item - the line grew behind me. The female owner of the husband/wife partner-owners proceeded to greet and serve both customers waiting behind me and never even looked at me. Eventually I was so disgusted, I left and went across the way to the Lakeside Cafe Deli and Catering Establishment (a fine substitute if you get fed up with RTB as I have). Cmon RTB, get your -ish together!! So I can enjoy the convenience of never having to step outside when Phoenix soon becomes surface-of-the-sun like.

I dont mind their food, but they consistently disappoint me with their wait times. They set unrealistic expectations when telling you over the phone how long something will take. Most recently, I ordered a sandwich. I called ahead because I know they have a problem with timing. I was told itd be ready in 5 minutes. I waited 5 minutes and headed over. I arrived and paid just 8 minutes after id ordered, and was told itd be ready in just a minute. I didnt receive my food for another 7 minutes, bringing the total amount of time to 15 minutes, three times longer than I was originally told. A single occurrence, I wouldnt bother including in a review, but this happens *every* time I choose to order something at Romancing The Bean. Regardless of how busy they are. I dont know what I need to do to get what I want here, and im very disappointed by it. But I like their prices, and I like the food. Every once in a blue moon I decide that its worth the wait.

Odd, concrete-gray location, excellent and exquisite food and pastries! THAT is how to do croissants and muffins. The "Crunchy Cinnamon Chocolate" muffin is award-winning. Totally delicious. Obscenely delicious. Sorry to be so critical, but Starbucks food is absolute crap compared to the food here. Management seems to enjoy serving high quality food to fastidious office workers and others. What a gem.

Romancing the Bean is a great little coffee shop. They have an old school coffe house feel and they make some first rate pastries! The service is always friendly and fast too. The only thing keeping me from giving them a full 5 stars is the coffee, its good its just not the best. I would say its right in line with Coffee Bean or Starbucks for coffee.

The amazing food, environment and people make Romancing the Bean one of my favorite places to meet friends for lunch! The service is always friendly and all the menu items Ive tried have been delicious! I highly recommend their salads, sandwiches and croissants as well as the fresh baked cookies, brownies and cakes! So yummy!

The pastry is good. The soup taste like they are from a can. The lunch specials are a good value. The service can be a little slow. All in all a good place for lunch. Breakfast on the other hand is so so. The eggs a rubbery because they are steamed rather than cooked on a flat top or a pan.

One of my favorite places. About a 10 minute walk from my office and I go there for lunch quite often. Usually have a baked croissant and a salad. The baked items are fresh and the salad is cold and delicious. They also have wonderful coffee and sell the beans for a reasonable price.

Romancing the bean is the best coffee in shop in the world! Robert and louann own the place and they are the best people in the world. The employees are super helpful, and always seem like they are having a great time. If you miss your family come into the bean, and get adopted.

The food is really good but you always have to call in advance is you want to get out of there in under 10 minutes. Also the blond lady who seems to be the owner is super rude

Good sandwich shop, really one if the only two options on the lake. Food was tasty , service left something to be desired, but overall a nice lunch spot
