I was visiting my sister in Phoenix from NYC last week and was walking around doing the obligatory stroll in Old Town Scottsdale on a Thursday evening when the galleries are open until 9 pm! Checking out galleries and such we happened upon Cafe Forte which grabbed our attention the moment my sister and I walked by... The outdoor tables were so quaint and cozy (despite the 106 degree weather), and when we peaked indoors, it appeared so warm and inviting that we decided to have just One glass of wine... And here starts one of my most memorable culinary experiences (And ive had plenty).. From the moment we entered the restaurant we were greeted by Julie the hostess (I hope thats her name!), who was so sweet and didnt flinch when we asked if it was okay to have a glass of wine. then we met Neil the most awesomest waiter ever...then Pat, one of the owners, who came over to our table and there we discovered they were also from NYC...Brooklyn to be exact...("Of course", I thought, thats what pulled me in!) but No, there was so much more... The wine list impressive enough for the wine snobs, yet unitimidating for the common folk...They even carried my favorite Spanish grape Albarino! First night I had the fussili with Sausage, sister had Ravioli (cheese and Spinach)...It was ridiculous how good it was! the portion sizes were perfect, not too much not too little...and everything was presented beautifully. Second night, (Yes, we went to dinner again...one last time before i came back to NYC), where we also met another fabulous waiter, Matt. We had a salad for starter... and for crissakes, it was lettuce with a rasberry dressing...how does that taste so good???? but it did...then i had the gorgonzola crusted filet (medium rare of course), and sister had the seared scallops... All i have to say is...culinary PERFECTION! Cafe forte...come back HOME! We NEED YOU IN THE BIG APPLE...(Preferably near SOHO on 6th ave... ;) Will see you in December when i go back. Folks, if youre ever in Phoenix...Scottsdale area...look this place up. You will not regret it. One of the best culinary experiences of my life. (Not to mention the nicest folks youll ever meet! ) Thanks for everything Cafe!

This place is the total package. From appetizer to dessert its all first class. Home made goods by outstanding cooks, and really nice people, plus delicious treats to finish off a meal! Good wine list to pair with their foods, too. I live on the East Coast and NEVER miss it when my travels take me to Scottsdale. You shouldnt either.

Nice clean place. The food was great! I would have gave them 5 stars, but the atmosphere did not match the price point (its a little expensive, a want to be upscale). This said, I do recommend the place, the downtown Scottsdale location is fantastic and the food and service were great - just my a place for a romantic getaway.

Our experience with Cafe Forte echoes the many other excellent reviews you will read - the food really was exceptional! The brie appetizer was amazing, the seared tuna entree was delicious and the camel back brownie dessert was the perfect finish to one of the most enjoyable meals I have had in years. Highly recommended.

Every time I have eaten here the food and service has been excellent. This wonderful little place is small, friendly and has the best meatloaf you can image. I would not think about going out to eat for meatloaf, but trust me, it is worth the experience! I have been here for dinner and work meeting lunches - always great!
