We went out to Red Rock at Fashion Place last night (Monday night around 6pm) with my family because my sister was visiting from out of state. What started out as excitement (I had only been one other time to the SLC location and loved it) ended with frustration. The waitress and service were fine, and my Alaskan fish and chips were FANTASTIC, just like I remembered. (I think the majority of us ordered the fish and chips because of how good they are.) However, my daughter got the spaghetti and meatballs from the kids menu because she loves pasta and meatballs, but after a bite or two, she wouldnt eat it anymore, and she is nowhere close to picky. I offered to trade plates with her (and she gladly ate my fish and chips), and after a bite of the spaghetti, I could see why she wouldnt eat it. It had a LOT of heat! I could only eat maybe 4-5 bites myself, and my daughter can actually handle heat better than I can. I dont think that a dish with that much kick fits a kids menu very well. Im willing to give the benefit of the doubt that *maybe* they have a more mild kids sauce and someone put a regular marinara on instead by mistake, but neither of us could eat it, so strike one. We might have sent it back if we hadnt been so distracted by the other strikes Im about to mention, but at this point, we just wanted to finish and get out of there. Strikes 2 and 3 came from the "Paint Nite" group that was stationed literally 10 feet from where we were sitting. Not long after our food came out though, we heard a LOUD voice start speaking over a microphone. It was from the Paint Nite instructor, and it didnt help that their group wasnt closed off, either. I could have literally walked right in. We could hardly hear our own table conversation over her, and not only was it loud, but we had to listen to her innuendos and language to boot. She made everyone recite something about "no b*tching and moaning" at the beginning, and then a minute later she was making jokes about lubricants and "thats what she said" and other things of that nature. (Did I mention this was said loudly over the microphone while we were having a FAMILY dinner and with my daughter there?) Yeah. We were not impressed, and neither were the tables around us. We all were more than a little peeved. Supposedly after several complaints we were told that the manager turned the microphone volume down, but either he didnt really do it or the woman (or someone) turned it up again because there really was no difference. I have no clue why that Paint Nite group was there (and believe me, as a photographer and painter myself, I appreciate the arts), but they should NOT have been there, or they should at least get a different teacher or keep the volume lower. Its not fair to paying customers that our dining experience was compromised by some stray extracurricular group that got to talk over our conversation with a microphone. So, yeah. 3 strikes for an unpleasant dinner, so you lose 3 stars on this rating. Not impressed, which is a shame because (most) of the food and the cream sodas were delicious. I most likely will not be coming back until the painting group is nixed though.

We went here for lunch today.. and I was not very impressed. I ordered the cod fish and chips and my husband ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich. The cod fish turned out pretty good, however the fries were stale due to being left on the heat lamp too long. We asked for more fries, since the fries were cold, and everyone knows how horrible cold fries are! The server brought us out new fries, but then the new ones were undercooked! The fries tasted like they were boiled, and they were still a transparent color. It was pretty disappointing considering my meal was "fish and chips" which means half of the meal consists of the fries! It was a pretty bad experience and I probably wouldnt come here again. My husband liked his chicken sandwich though. It is a pretty big let down when a restaurant cant make fries correctly! Bummer!

I hope that it was just a bad night for this particular restaurant. I ordered the Baked Italian Cheese Dip, and while the dip was pretty good, the "beer bread" that they served with it was not as good. So for the main meal I asked the waiter what he thought and he suggested the French Onion Steak Sandwich. Being a fan of French Onion, I was sold. The problem was that the steak was too fatty, the onions were not "caramelized", it was more like brutalized. They were nearly burnt and left an acrid taste in your mouth with every bite. The waiter was friendly and prompt. He got everything right on the first trip. The lace also has a nice hip college style atmosphere. I will probably not come back though after this experience.

Its alright. If I was trying to kill time (like waiting for my wife at the mall) Id come here for a beer or two and surf the internet on my phone. Frankly, the beer is a bit lacking in flavor. I feel like Im tasting more of the Co2 than the actual beer. It almost tastes like beer flavored sparkling water at times. The service has ranged from excellent to sub par. Id say Ive been here about 8 times over the last 4 years. If I could give this a 2.5 star rating I would. I rate this of course relative to the other various Utah breweries. I do have to say that all of the bottled beer Ive tried has been good.

Seriously my favorite place. After about 50 times going there I had my first not great experience with the food. They handled it like champions, fixed my food, and were great about it. Then, I was out with friends and on a patio (not at Red Rock) talking to some people about it and the manager of Red Rock (happened to be there) overheard my discussion, apologized and handed me her card with two free entrees. I told her she did not need to do that because her bartender that was serving us fixed everything. I am more a fan now then I was before. A real class act! Customer for life!

Just had the super food salad for lunch. I could die happy right now. There is something for everyone here, whether you are gluten for punishment (pun intended) or on a super health kick. Its noisy when it gets busy, but the atmosphere is laid back and the staff is very accommodating. They can seat moderately sized groups together. Like most craft breweries they take their craft for food just as seriously as they do their craft for beer, maybe more so than most craft breweries.

Ended up paying $60 for 2 people. Quite the pricey place. The food isnt that great either. The French mushroom soup was ok. I got a Fish & Chips plate but the fish was wet inside, dripping water out when I bit into it. The batter on them didnt have much flavor. The cole slaw had no sauce or dressing. It was like eating just cabbage sliced up. The fries were like any other restaurant fries. The atmosphere is really noisy and loud. I just didnt like it. Not going back, thats for sure.
