I used to love this place. I would even have considered myself a regular, some time ago. However, after recently returning, I found myself extremely disappointed. I met several friends there on a Sunday, which meant the pool was free. So that was nice. But apparently, free pool means absolutely no service. At all. We were at the table for about 30 minutes before I finally got fed up and went to ask for menus. About 30 minutes later, when nobody had come over yet, I finally went to the bar to order all of our food and drinks. And this was with 2 bartenders and 3 servers working. Somebody could have taken a minute to at least come over and say they were understaffed or *something*. Ah, then there were the pool tables. A certain amount of maintenance needs to go into pool table ownership. The simplest part of that is brushing the cloth regularly, to remove built up lint and debris. This table looked like it had never once been brushed. On top of that, it was very close to having a few holes. Add to that the fact that they got rid of their beautiful full size tables and now just ha e a collection of little bar boxes, and even the fact that its free hardly makes it worth playing there. I really cant see myself returning to being a regular here anytime soon.

My wife and I met three friends there for drinks and some billiards. First impression was a sports bar with four pool tables does not make a pool hall. The five of us had to share one cue as there were no extras to be found. I was also put off by the amount of empty glasses on other patrons tables. There was 2-3 empties per person on each table and the glasses looked dirty. The wait staff was slow to serve other patrons and did not speak to us at all. Members of our party bought a round directly from the bar. I was handed a glass of what I thought was Cider based on appearance. When I put the glass to my lips I discovered it was skunky beer completely devoid of any carbonation. The beer was flatter than Nebraska and the keg was not properly refrigerated. I walked over to the bar and set the glass down on the inner rail, there was no bartender in sight. The glass sat there over five minutes before anyone behind the bar disposed of it. My wife ordered Absolut Vodka and was given a watered down well brand. The owner needs to put in a call to John Taffer or at least read his book and take some notes.

The service was bad, started with a phone call, talked to Abbey, I asked her was the Danny Paul Boxing Fight playing on ESPN August 1 9pm est, and after exchange of fight details she said Yes, I drive from Greenway RD in north phoenix to tempe to see my fight, at a UFC Bar" they play fights daily, I had callled 6 places across phoenix and Lucky Break, Abbey lied and told be they would play It. At 935 pm est time, i realize they would not play my fight, my bar balance was 44.87 cents, i signed my recept and left 5.00 tip to 49.87, I woke up today and i have a charge for 53.82. I talked to abbey minutes ago," Adam was my Bartender" she told me i would have to drive back to tempe for a refunded, and i must have my receipt, and offered a 25.00 gift card, when you drinking alcohol, customer hope for a honest bartender, i will call my credit card company and request a chargeback, and provide US Bank with my receipt by email rather than driving 50 plus miles round trip. to bring my receipt back to the owner of Lucky Break, If your looking for a stress free honest experience, DONT TRY LUCKY BREAK,

I helped out there briefly for the past week when a close associate of mine was hired to be the GM and then we got fired because a bunch of the entrenched bartenders walked out because they didnt want to participate in their duties such as cleaning up this filth found in the beer coolers. Mismanaged by douchebag owner son (allegedly banging former staff/patrons on pool tables) and of out of state owner. Algae on beer bottles. Uncovered and mislabeled foodstuffs in kitchen--and not labeled; and the entire staff (all but 3 quit there) hated eachother when we arrived. Bounced paychecks. No paychecks. 5-people to cover 100 plus hours of open schedule. Mismanaged disarray where bartenders and servers are notorious for ignoring customers for as long as possible while they play on their own cell phones and spend their entire shift doing their "closing" work instead of making sure you are comfortably served. Ownership is oblivious!

This is the cleanest bar in the south Tempe area with unmatched audio/video. The inside is absolutely enormous with every square inch offering large flat and projection screens. Food was fantastic. We had buffalo hot wings and a flat bread Mexican dish that were succulent. I turned to my buddy and commented that its rare to find such flood in a sports bar. Darnell, the head bartender, was awesome. Hilarious sense of humor, very engaging, and very personable. He was once a Heisman Trophy finalist during his days as a running back for Northwestern University; he also played in the NFL. Debating sports with him offered a unique perspective and I enjoyed the banter. Overall, this bar is great. Very clean, phenomenal food, great service, and the best spot to view sports, especially UFC.

I went to this place all the time before new ownership took over, and it used to be great. Service was good, food was awesome. Since new ownership, its been terrible. We have gone several times over the last year or so - purely because because it used to be so good - but will not be returning. There seemed to be only one waitress working on a Friday night. Took a long time to get our menus, had to ask THREE times for our waters, the Diet Coke we ordered was completely flat and the waitress did not seemed surprised or care. The food is now just average bar food. One Friday night we went and there was no chef, so they didnt serve food at all. To top it all off, the breaded fish was mushy and had a weird consistency- made me feel really sick.

You need to watch your bill. These people will charge you more then what you think you are paying for. We asked for the beer that was on happy hour and when the ticket came in it was not what we ordered. We are not the first to experience this friends of ours ordered tequila shots figuring they were getting well tequila and when they got the bill they were charged with top shelf tequila. The establishment decided what to serve them rather then asking if they had a preference. When we told management about the issue they had a tough luck attitude. I would never recomend this place to anyone. They use to be the Devils Hideaway (same people) and had to close down only to reopen to stick it to you one more time.

I had the absolute worst experience at scullys last night. I have been going to this place for over a year now, pretty sure I will never go there again. I had to ask THREE times for a water, a friend of mine waited over FORTY FIVE minutes for a burger while another friend asked for wings that NEVER got rung up. This place has done nothing but go downhill since the new owner took over. I enjoyed going to this place when it was called Lucky Break. You now have to PAY to play pool, all of the pool tables have been replaced with the coin operated tables. After I complained to a manager about my poor experience they comped my bill, I doubt I will ever go back.
