China Buffet is the best place to go if you want decent Chinese food at extremely low prices. They have a variety of Chinese cuisine as well as a sushi bar. The atmosphere is authentic Chinese although the lights are a little bit bright. I recommend the sweet and sour chicken or pizza with a side of fried rice or a fried biscuit. The staff is also quite friendly. They offer a great variety of wine and fountain drinks, and in lovely glass cups with the Coca Cola® logo on it. Their service is amazing; the staff checks on you often and you can go get your meal as soon as they find you a seat. It’s not hard for them to do so though, they offer enough seats to fit several dozen parties. It is located conveniently at 17119 N Litchfield Rd # 20, Surprise, AZ, which is near many major neighborhoods. It is open 7 days a week, which adds to the ultimate convenience of this unique restaurant. As far as cleanliness goes, this a very clean restaurant, even the bathrooms are as sparkling as your brand new Dodge™. The music playing is authentic Chinese music, like most of the other parts of the restaurant. The sound level is rather medium. When you receive your food the first time, you realize just how much you’re getting for your money. The proportions of food are above any other. I would rate this amazing place 2 stars ** out of four. -Charles And Brandon

Today we had the pleasure of all coming together for a meal. We sat down after fixing out plates and the food from one specific line was cool to the touch. Then when biting into it, it was obvious that their buffet line was not reaching temp. We notified the woman who sat us who promptly, as she should have, took the temperature of an egg roll and full of confidence and delight strolled back to us to inform us the center of the egg roll that she took the temperature was at 121° and that maybe if that was not hot enough to go get a different one. As a manager in the food industry, that did not sound right. When holding hot foods, the lowest they should temp at is 140° and cold food holding should not be above 39°. We informed her of this, which she said nothing more than, "Oh, 140?" And walked away. Bacteria grows at a faster rate on food in the danger zone. My grandmother is at risk of illness and serving food in the danger zone puts her at higher risk. So a big shout out to China Buffet who did nothing about this problem other than put fresh egg rolls on top of the ones that were temping at 120°. (Normally, their food is scolding and delicious but the lack of empathy and urgency to resolve the issue is why I am giving such a low rating)

My boyfriend and I have been too busy to cook these past few days. So we have gone 3 times in a row this week to this buffet. The food was great and service was great. And we had no problems until today. We had previously paid cash but when our check came out we decided to pay with a card. We did not leave a tip this time because the service at our table was little to none and we thought 30 dollars was fair enough. So we left no tip and went to go fill up for gas after. My boyfriend tried filling up when the card was declined. So we looked up the transaction history and what do you know? A 7 dollar charge of God knows what added to our bill and charged to our account without our consent to do so!! Thankfully we had our receipt and drove back to the restaurant. She showed us her "books" and it was typed in there for 30. But I am sorry; I am trusting my card statement before her typed in books! She did not issue a refund until it has gone from "pending" to "approved". Which I think is bullshit, but we will just be back in tomorrow when I know the incorrect amount will be approved! What a shame...such a nice place with good food but we will not be going there again and definitely not referring friends! Check your bank statements!!!

In order to review I had to give at least one star, this place doesnt even deserve that. Abysmal variety on the Chinese food and everything was old and luke warm at best. We discovered 2 inches of grease in the bottom of the sweet and sour chicken pan and my husband tried his best to wrangle together a few pieces that werent SOAKING in the grease. Within the first few bites we realized we had a made a TERRIBLE mistake in attempting this establishment. The sesame chicken, the black pepper chicken, spring rolls and lo mein were all cold to warm at best and mushy or tough when they were supposed to me from or crispy. I bit into a spring roll and there was no *crunch* just a dull mushing sound. We flagged down our waiter who brought us the manager and we were held with contempt as she protested that EVERYTHING on the buffet had just come out fresh. Since we hadnt eaten and were starving we informed her that we were leaving without having really dined albeit a few bites and she informed us that we would still be charged and have to pay for the drinks which sat untouched and at least one buffet dinner. Dont go here, you WILL regret it!!! Off to Chilis we go !!

I have never been to a place with the absolute worst service. I will never go to this place again and i will not recommend this place to anyone. The staff is the worst. Our drinks were not refilled once and when ny husband asked for a refill we were told "Can you wait", the server then brought a water and we asked for no ice and he says "im not your server" very rudely. We then asked for our server and our server never came so we had to ask again for a water. He then brought the water and we payed my dad had left a penny on the table but he didnt leave it as a tip he left it simply not wanting the penny and as we were walking out the server marches at us and throws the penny at us and hits the door meaning to throw the penny at us. Very angry at this point i had my 5 month old daughter with us he could of easily hit her. I let the staff at the front of the desk know what he did and they didnt do a thing about it. What kind of restaurant allows this kind of behavior? If you simply dont like your job get a new one instead of treating customers like crap. I have never in my life experienced what i experienced that day. I will never go there again.

Tonight I did something I rarely do, I visited the local Chinese buffet. I have shortened business trips because of these "adventures". This place gets four stars just for selection. From all you want Sushi, Sashmi and rolls to peel and eat shrimp, fresh oysters on the half shell, crab legs, snow crab, several soups and salads, to all the standard Chinese fare. Including pot stickers, crab cakes and several other items I know not the name. I gave it only 4 Stars because the food taste was not over the top, I found myself comparing their dishes to the "Best" I had ever had, instead of comparing what the China Buffet has in selection over all to the other places I frequent. For $15.00 including tax and tip (drinks extra) this place is a bargain for the sushi alone. Did I mention dessert? Have you ever has fried won tons? Sprayed with some sort of sweet concoction and left to harden? These were good, and so simple. Then there was the small "shot glass" tub full of mint whipped creme, coconut macaroons and lemon cake. Very good. Well enjoy.
