Well, lets begin. My girlfriend and I were traveling from out of town and wanted to get away in Scottsdale for the weekend. Decided to shop, but time got away from us so we came to the hotel to check in. (Hilton across the street) The nice lady at the front desk told us about SunoMaya, a favorite around here. We decided to take her up on the offer, and walked over to the restaurant. Upon walking in, we were greeted by a nice girl that seated us immediately, outside, in a highly noisy environment, in the dark. She walked away, without letting us know anyone would be with us shortly, or ever. We waited.... Then waited some more, then another hostess walked by and asked if we needed anything. "Yes, menus, water, food." She apologized and told us she would grab us some waters. A few minutes passed, then another gentleman came over to ask if we needed anything. "Yes, wed like to eat. Can we order?" He obliged, took our order then walked away. About 20 seconds later a girl walks by and asks us if we were helped. I said, "yes, someone took our order," the manager walked back over and apologized for the server, apparently she was running a little behind. Then after he walked away, our server (?) walked over and told us that she could help is now. "We already placed our order, were good" was my reply. She said, "oh, okay then." And, yup, she walked away. Then of course, the food comes out when its ready, not you, because thats what places try to do when they cant make up a good excuse as to why half of the staff doesnt see you, the other half cant stop seeing you, and management just apologiizes for everyone else. This review is solely on service, I believe my girlfriend will be posting another review of the so-called food. I had the Kimchee rice which I can still feel in my gut trying to work its way out somehow. Im so confused and offended by this experience. After being alienated for the better part of our visit, I decided,"k, got Kimchee, you got the yakisoba, I had the carnitas and a Coke. $40 should cover it", then the second time we see our server, is as we were leaving, she wanted to grab the check-" let me make sure you have enough money there..." I said, "oh, its plenty." I dont know if she liked that, but the 87 cents that may have been leftover can be shared equally among the 5 people that interacted with us, not one knowing what the other was going to do, how to do it, or who wouldve done it, err, something like that. After the $40 was left on the table, we walked out and went back over to our hotel. Just wish the people were decent and the food was good. Wouldve been a great place had they cared less about being cool and actually put a little time into training them on what service is. Speaking of, remember, youll go to a restaurant for the food, but youll return for the service. I happily will do neither here.

I was very excited to try this place since its close to where I live and serves both Asian and Mexican cuisine. The place has a nice atmosphere and had an eccentric style. Some chairs had random Asian faces stuck to it and when you sit down, it seems like theyre kissing your butt. The main bar had 2 large screen TVs that looks like its floating and the sushi area had wood flooring applied on the ceiling and on one of the walls. Im not exactly getting what this place wants to be but it was nice. The food here was a bit underwhelming which was very disappointing. I had such high hopes. My girl and I ordered: Korean beef taco - it was very small but actually was good. Bacon wrapped medjool dates - a tad too sweet, the texture of the stuffing was not the best. I ate it but probably wont order it again. Arroz con Pato - rice with duck confit. I can hardly taste the duck (it was there though). Its just brown rice with carrots and peas. The serving was kinda small too so we finished it rather quickly. Overall, it was average at best. Since we were still hungry, we ordered another dish: Kimchi Fried Rice - looked almost exactly like the first dish. The difference: instead of a sunny side up egg on top, it had tiny leaves as a garnish. This has got to be the most disappointing of them all. It tasted just like the first rice dish. I couldnt taste or even smell a hint of kimchi. At this point, I was so disappointed with the food that when the nice server asked how everything was, I just nodded and said "Its..... (awkward pause) okay." The cocktail: Kumquat - tasted like a mojito and the bartender went to town with the mint leaves. Its like your eating mint leaves. The concoction was supposed to have a pineapple puree and I did not taste any hint of pineapple in that drink. I was crying silently inside. The redeeming factor: Dessert They do not have an actual dessert menu but the server said they have a couple of items available. We tried: Tequila Lime Pie - served with a sorbet of what tasted like mint and cilantro, it was kinda too sweet and Im trying to find the Tequila flavor. Bread pudding - served with what tasted like cinnamon ice cream with a generous dusting of flavorless brown powder (I think it might be coco powder but it doesnt have any taste). This was actually good and the serving was bigger in comparison to everything else. Cost: For everything, it wasnt too bad like $70. I was just really, really hoping that the food would be more remarkable. I was genuinely disappointed and the thing is, I am almost always easily pleased. Heck, I think Olive Garden is a great Italian restaurant. As we were leaving, the nice hostess opened the door for us and asked how was the food. I could only muster "It was...... (much longer awkward pause) okay." :(

We received a $120 gift card from a business associate. We were seated at 6:15 July 4th. We ordered a Stella and some pathetic concoction beer, tomato juice and salt rim glass, it was not described that way, eek. We ordered beef tacos and CRISPY Calamari, the tacos were the size of a cardboard drink coaster, bland and the Crispy Calamari portion was the size of a tea cup soaked in Orange, ginger and soy sauce and not crispy. We hardly had a bite of the appetizers and the entree came. I ordered the Vietnamese Filet with vegetables. I got little chunks of overcooked beef and some kind of watercress like vegetable with unetable wood stems, straight off a steam table. I ordered fried rice and the waitress said, no you ordered white rice. I mentioned it and she said well thats $11dollars more (I dont care) and walked away. When she took the order, do you want noodles, rice or fried rice? No check backs from any staff, "is everything all right" didnt happen? Our check arrived and gave the gift card and a $20 dollar bill. The check was $119 and change. The small $20 tip was from a rushed, complacent waitress with inaccuracies on the order. She said, "do you need change for the $20" with attitude. I should of said yes and gave less a tip. A planned relaxing nice Anniversary dinner was a mere 45 minutes from when we arrived to when we left. Upon leaving the 2 hostesses were busy talking with a waiter giggling and didnt thank us. I said loudly "thanks for comming in tonight, was everything OK...why no it wasnt". They heard me and gave a dirty look. There are so many great restaurants in Scottsdale/Phoenix, this is NOT one of them! We picked up a Pizza at Grimaldis on the way home, we were hungry!
